- Bill Fay released two albums on the Nova label, a subsidiary of Decca. The first self titled in 1971 and "Time of Last Persecution" in 1972. The lush orchestrations almost overpower Bill's simple lyrics but it works.
I sang this song at an open mic this week August 2023 - it went down very well and made some people weep - written from the heart
This song reminds me that it's okay to be human
Was lucky enough to see Bill Fay sing it when he joined WILCO onstage for their last song in London a few years ago. Amazing song. Thought it fitted TWD perfectly.

@@timtimtimtim83 I was hoping to find one of those performances on RUclips as well, when I found out about them. Bill's version is so beautiful, but I thought the Wilco guys singing it in the documentary was very moving too.

Bill fay has gifted us so many inspiring, spiritual and comforting songs. I find myself going back again and again to Bill's records.

I came here to find this song to add it to my The Walking Dead music list. I am an underground Dee Jay. I have many of the songs from the TV Series on my playlist. I subscribed to the labels Bill Fay section because there were many beautiful songs that I discovered by this artist simply by listening to his channel which was put here by his record label. It was Talcarnan's post that led me to that label's Bill Fay page however. Thank you!, Talcarnan!
When I was Dee Jaying I wanted to throw out a couple of TWD's songs to see if the crowd of biker's on my listener's list could or would handle it well. I was pleasantly surprised! They were hitting so many likes and sending me so many chat boxes full of compliments on those songs that I couldn't keep up with them all to say Thank You to them! I've had this reissue in my collection for about 2 years and never played it until today! Boy am I glad I did, how fantastic are these songs? they just get better with each listen. Will have to check out his current stuff; how is this man not a megastar????

I was at a barbecue in Georgia recently where I heard this song being played. Took me about halfway to recognize the lyrics and I couldn't help but laugh. Turns out the owner plays the song at least once per shift to see if any of the guests recognize it. Pretty funny and twisted.

I NEVER miss an episode of The Walking Dead. For some reason, at the end of last season when the gal from Terminus offered them all a plate of food I was thinking, "All they can find in the woods are squirrels, dead rotting deer, possum and rabid skunks! Where is Terminus getting all this meat from! Don't eat it!!! DON'T EAT IT!!! THESE PEOPLE HAVE TO BE CANNIBALS! THEY WOULDN'T HAVE SO MUCH MEAT TO GIVE AWAY IF THEY WERE NOT CANNIBALS!" I turned out to be correct! They WERE cannibals! They had lost their humanity because a different group of humans had taken away their humanity with torture and rape day after day after day for months. I'm quite sure it was months and not weeks as the woman Carol turned over to the walkers had claimed. It shows us what happens when rape is used as a weapon of war. The sad thing is that rape is used as a weapon of war on our planet on a daily basis. That is even WORSE than sad. I'm speaking from experience. I have PTSD because I was molested many times as a child and it culminated in a rape when I was 19 years old and I was hitch-hiking to get to a band audition. I'd asked my mother to give me a ride to where I was going. She'd said,"No!" So the only way I had of getting there was to hitch hike. I was raped that night when a man picked me up in Mesquite TX right by North Mesquite High School on the interstate and he took me into Dallas TX to a place called Sargent Park. A VERY BAD NEIGHBORHOOD! He had every intention of killing me but when he tried to get his car up a very steep hill (I should say the STOLEN car because it was totally stripped and it had no plates on it) his car bogged down and I jumped out, ran into the middle of the road and flagged down the only vehicle that was on that road and heading toward me. I stood in the middle of that road so they would have to hit me or stop. That neighborhood was so bad that they actually frisked me before they let me into their car even though my clothes were all torn up and bleeding and I was crying and screaming about being raped and about the man who was trying to kill me and that we had to get out of there! Thank God the rapist was scared off when I got that car to stop! But I'd left my purse with my ID in it in his vehicle when I'd jumped out of his car. I spend months in fear because he knew where I lived. He even came into the fast food place where I worked after words. I hid in the bathroom vomiting and I lost my job because I couldn't tell my manager what was wrong with me and why I was not in that dining room when I was supposed to be the dining room supervisor. Anyhow, this is how I know what rape can do to someone. I still have nightmares to this day and I'm now soon to be 50 yrs. old. I went to the rape crises center because of the nightmares. The lady who led the circle of women was telling them that eventually, with time, they'd get over it. I wanted to strangle her! She was so stupid! I sat there and kept my mouth shut! Because I knew that they'd NEVER get over it! I knew they would have nightmares for the rest of their lives!
