Wow!! You're a natural!! What a concise well presented comparison of these two similar, yet not at all the same bikes. You've conquered the audio gremlins, only wind buffeting spoiling otherwise perfectly clear sound. The Big Guns had better have a rethink because for me and I'm sure many others, this was one of the most laid back, no nonsense honest review/comparison videos ever done. Very well done!! 👍😀
Thanks, great review! I have exactly the same two bikes. Started with the NC 3 years ago used it for everything, daily commute and long trips. Got the VFR dct version mostly for the long trips and… WOW! Love both of em. Still ride the NC every day
That was very good, you are a natural, thank you! I have the NC700D Integra DCT which IMO is best bike I've ever tried in 70+ years. The seat Iv'e cured by buying the blow-up saddle cushion + a gel thick sheet shoved in the covering!
Well thank you very much Dr Doolittle, it much appreciated 👍and great name btw. I am used to the NC 7500X now but it was a bit of a struggle at first. When I bought the bike, I was chatting to the guy who owned the Honda dealership and after I said the seat was hard, he quipped, ya need to man up haha which was very funny. He was having a joke of course and I had known him for a little while so all was good. I do like the look of the Integra but I have only so much room (not to mention money 🤣🤣🤣)
Rode my NC 80 miles on a miserable day to part exchange with a VCF. Soaked through and shivering at the dealers. The return though, on the VCF, was a revelation! It romped back and I arrived home exhilarated with toasty warm hands. It really highlighted the difference between the two bikes
Hello Peter, isn't it so good when you get a new bike, such a joy to ride it home for the first time. I still have my NC and loving every minute of it.
Superb piece of work. I was considering going up to the VFR as currently own an NC750x DCT. I think for the added benefits and additional weight/handling I'm going to stick with the NC. Thanks so much, really thorough and very interesting
Glad you enjoyed 👍 My VFR has now been moved on and replaced with an NT1100 which is much easier to handle. I am about to turn 10k miles on the NC and will do a video to mark the occasion. The build quality, fit and finish of the VFR is way above the NC but you pay for that in the weight of the bike. I really do love the NC and will stay with me for a long time. Thanks for the great comment.
Hiya, Thank you for your latest efforts you made a fantastic video and you mentioned the main differences most people would be asking, Im quite happy with my NC but I always hanker after something like the VFR but I have little short legs and would struggle with manhandling the VFR Im sure, but it was lovely to see them both in comparison bearing in mind the price of both as well. You can rest assured you have the camera and audio just fine now so don't change anything. You done well to find all that traffic when you did the walk around the NC, where did it come from, maybe it was waiting for you. Well done mate and thanks again for your efforts.
I never mentioned that one bike is in the premium price range and the other mid range and it shows. Everything about the VFR is top quality. If I had to choose between the two then the NC would be the one because it a much better all round bike for different environments and much, much easier to manage. I filmed the NC on a Friday afternoon and I think it was folk taking the back roads to avoid those road works you saw later in the video. The VFR 1200F is much closer to the ground and far easier to flat foot but still heavy, but for me the downside was the sports tourer seating position is nowhere near as comfortable as the 1200X. The engine is the star of the VFR and is a mental 170bhp in the 1200F. I have a video riding the 1200F coming in two weeks where i go to Rannoch Moor. Glad you enjoyed 👍
The VFR is a premium bike for sure and an out and out tourer, a fantastic bike. The NC will not be for everyone but it ticks all the boxes for me. Many thanks for the comment 👍
You managed not to get caught in that bloody awful roadworks at the Abernyte turn off. I got caught there last Saturday 😞 My goodness Invergowrie looked glum. I was out flying a drone in that weather and can agree that, by the end, I almost couldn't feel my fingers.
Traffic on the Perth bound side was pretty bad and it as really cold for sure. I have not had drone out this year but will have to sort that out soon 😀
Nice video, have to say I do like those VFR's. I was advised by a motorcycle technician not to get one cos the engines are a pig to work on. But, I've not heard a bad word against them from anyone who owns one 🤷 I think you need to share your camera settings for picture and audio. I've not used mine in anger yet, so would be very helpful if you wouldn't mind please Alex. Stay safe bud 👍
Thanks tojjer, they are brilliant bikes and not had a single issue with them. I did look at to what needs done for the valve clearances and it a bit of an epic, but mine not needed for a while thankfully. Well funny you should mention camera settings, I am planning to release a short video this coming midweek on what works for me so watch out for that.
@@Tojj29 It the mic I used from the comms set. The new firmware is a big improvement allowed better tuning of the mic. I also moved the mic about inside the helmet to get best possible sound.
Cannot disagree with anything you said. The quality of the bike is superb and the engine is an absolute star performer. So good to hear how much you enjoy the bike.
Spot on video, thank you. Can you advise where you got your comfort seat from please? I bought my 2017 Crosstourer in March this year, I'm having a bit of a problem with an overly sensitive throttle tho. Did you encounter this at all & if so, how did you resolve it? Thanks!
Hello, I bought it from France, cost a blinking fortune but I took it off the bike before I sold it. I found the seat a huge upgrade on standard and well worth the money. I got to say I did not have any issues with a sensitive throttle thankfully. I used in the bike in Drive all the time and rarely in Sport. I do miss the bike as the engine is superb but it was time to try something new.
Morning James, I love both bikes😀 The VFR is an out and out tourer and does it fantastically well while the NC is a brilliant all rounder. You will not see much more of the VFR as new videos this year will focus on the Classic 350 and occasionally the NC. I have now finished playing around with the camera and have finalised the best settings for me and have got to say it represents fantastic value for money when compared to the competition.
@@Ainsworth-Rider Royal Enfield have certainly struck a cord with a lot of riders of a certain age and from my ownership experience the bikes are tremendous value. Hi man, Come on, record how you made the mount under the visor VFR 1200X. Mount for TomTom GPS. I also have such a GPS, and nowhere can I find a mount like you have. Thank you in advance
It was probably Ebay but it was so long ago it hard to recall. I still the mount and no idea where you are in the world but maybe you be interested in buying the mount?
TBH I cannot remember because I set it so long ago. I dialled in the damping on the front to restrict the bounce and I do know I set the rear to the default to the default 7 clicks after playing about different pre load. Hope this helps.

Very informative mate 😃 I would prefer the VFR. I've never rode either but I'm just drawn to the VF don't know why 😂😂
