    A lovely run out on a fine motorbike too. I thought seriously about getting one. My previous bike was a Honda Blackbird but as I am older now the weight of the VFR 1200 held back my decision. Thanks for the time and trouble you put in to post these videos.

      Evening Dezmond, I did enjoyed this bike very much and do miss that magnificent engine and loved the looks and comfort, it is a cracker. However, the top heavy weight was always there to manage and in the end it was time to change The NT1100 DCT is a great successor and far easier to manage as it carries it's weight down low. I do enjoy making videos so it no effort, looking at this early video shows how much my editing style has changed. Great to hear you are enjoying my videos.

    Yes , I would like to shop at that antique store! As for your roads, gotta love them. I say it on most of the UK riders I follow, the rock walls amaze me. I like the shout outs as it helps others maybe find another channel, I seem to be overwhelmed, as I follow cigar/ pipe smoking channels, motorcycle channels and other hobbies like miniature painting along with D&D and kayaking and and and and I don't watch program TV so YT is my entertainment for digital. As for your break in YT , enjoy. I am late to the game of making videos, but I get burnt out on editing as it takes so long for me. Need to find a way to hit go and stop and upload and have the music and sound effects and cuts already done 😂. Hope the next two of mine will be much quicker, but that's not what I am good at, I need to try to have a comedy routine for my bike covers and shed happns all depends on where my brain takes me when I am out there. Anyways, enjoy time away from editing and filming for a bit.😊

      Evening, glad you enjoyed. I have a workflow I follow that starts before the ride, that way it makes editing easier and quicker. Also have templates ready to go so it cuts down repetition. YT is pretty much my entertainment as well, I follow a good few bike channels but also, stuff around SpaceX, boating, model making and touring videos. YT has everything. Good luck with the next vids.

    It's good to see you out on the bike getting time away from chores around the house, that looked a nice road for a layed back ride. I notice the little cafe at the Scottish Antiques Centre didn't appear to be open, do they serve bacon rolls in the main building? I hope yourself and your wife enjoy a good break together and come back refreshed. Sorry to hear your Norway videos are not doing as well as expected, it's sort of the reason I've not been posting anything myself. This platform is seriously holding back promotion of videos from smaller channels and also curtailing comments and likes.

      @blearyview2254 11 дней назад

      The hut at the side of the building has been closed which is a shame. Not sure about the bacon rolls. As you know it don't bother me and not my motivation for doing this but it is a shame the small channel's are not given a fair crack at it. My subs are climbing again but the numbers are still pretty flat but the vids I do are certainly niche so who knows.

    Regarding your comments about RUclips... It seems that one gets a lot of views (which don't necessarily translate to subscribers) for 'how I did this' videos on quite niche subjects. My three most viewed and which still get good weekly views are the fitting of panniers to the Hunter, and two model boat ones! Ride videos generally don't get high numbers of views. But what I think is wonderful is that through RUclips I've made great friends with whom I can share my interests. 😊

      Totally agree how YT brings together like minded folk to share their passion and in the process make new friends. The reason I mentioned the view subject is the figuers for my videos fell off a cliff. I went from 6k-10k per month to less than 5k so something changed. Also the monthly subs went from 20-40 per month down to as low as 3 (three). My best performing videos are the "doing" stuff, the control cluster on the NT 1100 was the best the last time I looked with many thousands of views and it still is being watched. I have thoughts on why it has changed and may share in a future video to hear what folks think.

    It's always worth trying something new to give a new perspective to the viewers. I liked the view of the cockpit so to speak, being able to see both handlebars and mirrors sort of like a rider's eye view. It didn't take too much away from the side views either, often a lower mounted camera fails to see over the hedgerows. It did show more road and less sky than I'm used to, I'm not quite sure what I make of that.

Still when I dug the founds for the last one it'd been dry for weeks, it was like digging concrete. Morning Joe, that was the last of the rain until I come back to mainland Europe, the weather was excellent in Norway. The bag on the rear seat is the Q Bag and would highly recommend one (Sportsbikeshop). You normally see it on earlier videos but was taken off for the top box. I used it for waterproofs and spare bottles of water.

I held onto the bike for most of the crossing. I came back the same way and there were a couple of things highlighting things to watch out for but that for another video.

    Another couple of long days riding Alex, still at least you're getting closer to the target destination. I was talking to a Norwegian colleague who's heading home to visit her Mum, she told me about the arduous journey after getting off the plane to reach her mother's remote home. I never realised Norway was so big, she said " Yes it's very long".

      Morning Michael, that is the downside of going to Norway, it so far away and though I could have knocked at least a day off the journey to get there, it would have involved high speed motorways and where is the fun in that. Aye, Norway is massive and I really only scratched the surface.

    Hi Alex, Thank You for another well put together vid, I think you did well sticking with that track I reckon I'd have bottled it and turned back, I've given up on my Rider 550 for now, I'm trying one of those Android auto screens, so far so good, I love its bigger size ( 7 inch ) and so far it's been good, I like having Google maps, Waze and TomTom to use, with some background music. The only downer is it uses your phone which has to be on charge all the time in the frunk, no biggie I suppose, I will let you know how I get on with it. Ride safe mate.

      Hi Paul, I used AA on the NT a few times on the tour and it worked very well. One thing I noticed was my phone got very hot so it must be working pretty hard to be as warm as it was. The big screen is a real benefit and will be interesting to hear how it works for you. Thankfully that was the only wobble by the SatNav on the tour.

    You sure that wasn't someones garden path you were on? That NT looks the business all dressed up don't she. I couldn't believe those queues for that ferry, must save a lot of mileage if it's worth queuing for that long to use it. That motel looked decent for that money didn't it. Think you said that was one you hadn't prebooked? Good find if that's the case Al.

    • @blearyview2254
      @blearyview2254 25 дней назад

      If it was their garden path they better sort it out 🤣🤣🤣Two hours of queuing at least but I was speaking to a guy and his wife from Brora (at the top of Denmark staying at same hotel, small world eh) a couple of days later and he was telling me Hamburg was a nightmare with major roadworks. Denmark was difficult to find accommodation at a price I was will to pay, the hotel around the corner wanted £220 for a night. The NT is just the biz for touring mate, even though it chain drive.

    I find that the setting used can lead it to find these roads. Setting it for the shortest route and adventurous routing if the sat nav has it leads to some strange routes, especially if you have to go off of the original route for some reason. Had this last year at one point, took me off the main road on a paved single track road through farmland until about 1 1/2 miles in the road was closed (an event in the nearest village which had closed the original route) Had to turn around and backtrack to where I had started. I now have the route planned well ahead of time with plenty of shaping points and no recalculation set. However on a bike you never get lost, you are just travelling on a road you have never ridden before, many of these can be very interesting.

    • @blearyview2254
      @blearyview2254 25 дней назад

      Hi Jim, I think I had quickest route, avoid motorways and tolls and unpaved roads. I rarely use Adventurous routing as it takes you some weird ways. Sounds like you had a bit of a nightmare but you are spot on when you say you are never lost, it just part of the adventure.

    Never trust a satnav, you got away with it though. I did exactly the same thing with my specs a few years ago, luckily I had a spare pair with me. Looking at the size of that ferry and the length of the queues you'd have been there a while! Thanks Alex, getting close now 👍

    • @blearyview2254
      @blearyview2254 25 дней назад

      Yep, I got away with one this time, the satnav behaved after this one so all good. I heard that there were similar queues on the way back and the wait was over two hours, another benefit of riding a motorcycle. Just finished editing first day in Norway and that be here in a couple of weeks.
