The Marine Corps SDP does change/modify some of the routine they do every year but the crowd for the most part can't tell. All the teams are awesome in their own right. I just enjoy the Marine Silent Drill Platoon the most. Basic drill moments flared up with ceremonial drill and some exhibition drill but not so much so to where you lose precision which is what they focus on rather than getting the crowd hype with a narrator and soloist. Not that thats a bad thing just a difference.
@TrueWW2History I've judged a few JROTC competitions and honestly and this is just my opinion the ones that drilled liked the Silent Drill Platoon were better due to the fact that they displayed more precision. Other teams may have been more fancy but when it was so fancy to the point it becomes sloppy its looks horrible. Timing in spins being messed up, kids off step, or having kids stand on each others shoulders and doing a backflip, thats to much. Its still a Military type of drill competition, not step team, or cheerleading event.
