    Myself and three other recruits made up the 2nd Regimental Color Guard at Great Lakes In Febuary-March 1969. Nothing like how you serve, but it was a GREAT honor to be chosen.

    What career benefits does one get after moving out of that phase? I'm sure its more than just an EP and a shiny medal. I am just curious.

    • @therealmrstaten1
      @therealmrstaten1 Месяц назад

      its takes a lot of starch and ironing. i burned so many covers tryna keep the folds crispy. man we used to used hair spray to keep it stiff. man good old days at the guards in moss hall.

    Are these sailors also chosen from what we used to call the 900 companies back in the 80’s?

    • @ltcg1674
      @ltcg1674 Год назад

      Some of them are yes, they’re called the “900 Divisions”nowadays and conduct the drill and snt’s at boot camp graduation, but the majority of guardsmen are chosen from just regular divisions, myself being from Division 420.

    I'm not a huge fan of the ceremonial guards' uniform. I wish they represented us in our traditional uniform.

    • @therealmrstaten1
      @therealmrstaten1 Месяц назад

      our guard uniforms were different material wise. the fleet dress uniforms were considered to heavy. our guard uniforms were made of lighter fabrics for us to remain cool during hours long ceremonies. we actually prefer these uniforms when were our conducting ceremonies. that explains the uniform change. we're not allowed to wear or fleet dress uniforms while serving as a guardsman

    • @TheGnarlyPigeon
      @TheGnarlyPigeon 29 дней назад

      @@therealmrstaten1 The material has nothing to do with my comment. Also, our whites are already very thin. They're literally see through...

    Now that they have had their video training on correct pronoun usage and respecting their female commanding officer even if she runs the ship aground or crashes it into another ship, they are ready to wear a turtleneck under their cracker jacks.
    Honestly when I was a child America's military seemed like such a scary, imposing thing. Now I have seen so many of their blunders and their sharp turn away from corporeal reality and they just seem like the enforcers of everything weak and gay.
    S to spit.
