We haven't seen the boys for a long time. Crystal you have our condolences. We did a good job of not killing anybody or even hitting them, you are a sweet goat herder
Well of course the goats think you make it rain- you're always squirting them with a water bottle! 😂Lol, goats are so funny. I'm sorry you had a rough time taking care of them alone but thank you for going to the extra trouble of videoing it for us. I just love their personalities-- even when they are ornery and get into trouble they are so cute.
Dear Crystal, you should win an academy award for this episode of you and your “Girls”. You may do some of these things, first I’ve ever seen a goat used in THE WHEELBARROW manner. That was one of the movements I’ll NEVRR forget. All my love to ALL of you.
You are a superior lady goat herder, I admire you and the extremely organized lady that you are. You and your family deserve every dime you earn working the herd and all of your goats love and respect you too, also your dogs . I believe you made the right choice staying where you are, even tho we enjoyed your trips all over the country looking for a new goat farm
Right?! Well I was thinking it was like trying to herd cats(actually had to do that as a volunteer at a local animal sanctuary!) Or trying to herd a group of toddlers! As goats are very similar to toddlers…if they see something new, anything interesting, a path/area they aren’t typically allowed into or lord forbid something truly interesting like a toy for toddlers or green area/leaves for goats…they will do everything in their power to go there & become completely deaf to anything you say!!😂 -I briefly worked at a daycare where I worked with 2yr olds & trying to get them to leave the toy play are for lunch & then getting them to come in for snack & nap time was a practice in patience every single time! Even after the same group of toddlers had the exact same routine 4-6 days a week for months!! Unfortunately unlike goats who will avoid puddles at all costs…puddles or literally ANY form of water has the gravitational pull of a thousand suns to toddlers! If there was even the tiniest puddle on the short path to the outside play area literally *every single* 2yr old HAD to stomp thru it or bend down to slap it with both palms to splash themselves!🙄 Yet SO MANY of their parents couldn’t/refused to understand WHY we required *at least* 2 full changes of clothes for that age group plus an extra on rainy/wet days!🤯🙄 We had between 12-18 2yr olds in that class yet each parent fully expected the 5 of us teachers/assistants to be able to hold *their* child’s hand in order to prevent them splashing in puddles.🙄😒Quickly discovered that job DID NOT pay enough!! And it wasn’t working with the kids that made the job so stressful…it was the parents!! Not a single day went by without MULTIPLE parents making insane, totally unrealistic & impossible requests/demands OR being angry & yelling at us for either not complying with their previous insane requests/demands or for something completely out of our control! For example…I had a mom not only cuss at me but call me all manner of insulting vile names bc her kid had a singular mosquito bite on his arm when she picked him up!! We had centranela(sp?)plants planted all around the play & pick up areas along with both mosquito repellent & traps throughout placed higher than the kids could reach. So it was rare for them to get bit. This was the 1st time this kid had gotten a mosquito bite there despite having been there 9-10yrs a day 5 days a week all summer! And no the kid wasn’t allergic to them. I told my boss who review video footage of the incident with sound & then just shrugged at me & told me “it’s part of the job” & refused to even talk to that mom other than to APOLOGIZE for the mosquito bite!!🤯🤯😡Yea…$9.50/hr wasn’t worth being verbally abuse & verbally or even physically threatened daily! Sorry for the tangent.
That rain really messed up your day! Must be tough when you see your hubby swimming and your trying to get goats to listen! Tough being a farmer! But you're doing a great job! Thanks for sharing!
OMG, that was grueling! Hahahaha! But you made it through, with your faculties intact! And you're gonna have some SERIOUS browse for your girls, they'll get happy again. That was the biggest Soggy Dog I've ever seen right at the end there. He's prolly gonna poof out like crazy once things dry up a little, be twice as fluffy! You're killin' it, Miss Crystal, never fear!
Thank God you don't have to milk by hand like you used to. Your a Dynamic woman, I admire you and your family..even tho they're off playing in rivers or gratto..grotto.. I need a nap now.
I know you are going to be happy when your family gets home.😊 You have been working so hard by yourself and it will be so nice when the children get home to help out again.🙏
Great job Crystal. U r such a Trooper. The Versatility is Incredible with All of u. The little Babies r just growing so Precious and luv u All as well. Good to see a Glimpse of Derek and the Kids. Derek looks so different without his Hat though, but u cannot mistake the Voice. The Girls just want to make the changes in the Rain stop. They will adjust as it continues. Keep up the great work Crystal. The family will be home soon, and thank u for sharing!
I always find it so funny how Abilene stomps and kicks her feet while you try to get her milk but when she's pregnant and ready to deliver she sure wants you right there doesn't she. She's so cute
You are a great mommy I hope to be okay lot of love goes into your work that's the best kind of work there is God bless you and keep your your large large
I know chores in the rain are not that fun, but it is amazing how green it is! It used to be brown! Hopefully, some other places in the country get rain! We just got a lot of rain (in Wisconsin)
Wow, y'all having some gulley washers out there! I see why you stay so trim, with that work you do! Relax, if you can..you've earned it! You're my hero🌹🥰🌹
You girls are grounded had me LOLing!! 😂 you are amazingly patient with your troublemakers! In all my years of watching you I don’t think I’ve seen it so rainy there.
Good Job Momma.❤ Those stinkers are funny and you keep your cool 😎 Boos’s skin doesn’t get soaked through it’s sooooo thick! Thanks for showing us your routine Crystal ❤️🙏🏼
The only good thing about rain. It makes your pastures really green. Looks like it did when you first moved to the ranch. You are doing great Crystal. When everyone gets back, it's time for you to get away for a few days.
Its a hard life; ya gotta love it to earn it and you and your family truly get that! Love you all for what you. I've learned so much from your channel! Blessings to all 🥰
Well Crystal, you know 'when it rains it pours--- all kinds of isssues!!! You adapt superbly to everything! First thank God for the rain for your pastures, and just roll with the flow of milk. Whatever the level! Love your heart for your ladies !!!
I really felt this one. Dealing with chores alone is so much harder! It does make you appreciate helpers so much more. Ever hear that saying "it's like herding cats"? Well, I say it's like herding GOATS! 🤣
I love the way your goats understand Crystal speek. I know dogs learn many words. But your goats seem to understand just as many. Just shows how in tune they are to you. Your doing a great job with them.
It always rain at the wrong time, you must be loosing the top layer of your ground. Fantastic work by you, Crystal. Love how your big dog is walking through the rain. Your family seems to be having a great time.
I don’t know how your back doesn’t kill you by the end of the day…you are such an inspiration to a strong work ethic!! I love how you talk the your goats. 💕
Yeah I don’t have her patience. I got my first milk goat less than a week ago. She kicks a bucks. I told my husband hold her legs before I cut them off. 😆 obviously I won’t do that but I’m not sure I’m liking goat milking. I grew up with jersey cows. Much easier!!!!
You are a beast Crystal! You definitely deserve a spa day when Derrick and the kids get back from vacation. One suggestion: maybe you should paint one board of each feeder on the milk stand so the goats can quickly identify where to put their their heads. Just a thought...
we are over in Washington state at my daughters and we were talking about farming and my daughter was complaining about prices going up and she mentioned butter prices and i asked her where does she think butter comes from, the youngest grand daughter said the store, i laughed and said no, she then said cows and i said yes and thats as far she knows, so i said to the daughter make your own its one of the easiest things to make, i said you get a ton of it from the milk storage tanks each morning milking, get a jug full of cream whish it up until it separates and there you go fresh butter... if you want salted just add salt before whisking, use the butter milk for bread making... and many other recipes... kids today just dont know where food comes from or how to make it. i mean she and the son-in-law are dairy farmers they should know this, well they do now and so do the grand kids, getting them to shake some double cream up today see if they can concentrate and make some butter... do your kids know where butter comes from? and how to make butter?
Humidity is horrible. We’ve had lots of humid heat here in Vermont this year. My electric bill verifies that🤪😳 anyway, yes, irs very hard to work outside I. Humid weather! I dislike it very much, about like I hate the ice and snow in wi ter😜 but I still love my state the best. Born and raised here so… it is what it is, right. You do great despite that horrid weather and it’s affecting the goats as well. Hang in there, my dear.❤️👍
Good morning Crystal! Hope you are all the goats are doing well. It was cool when the girls were coming off stand. It was like Lily was saying hi everyone. She just looked at the camera saying you all want to see my pretty face and know I am still here in case you wondering.
Oh my 😱 I hope the camera didn’t break! Geez…I felt that morning 😩😂 They definitely took advantage of there only being one human there 🤪🥸 That was a lot of run off, you must have gotten a good rain! Big (((hug))) to you for that crazy morning 🥰😁
Ugh days like that are so hard, and you were by yourself which makes it so much worse! Hang in there, prayers the girls' milk comes back up soon! Generally I'll move water buckets under shelters when I know we are getting days of rain.
Boy you got your hands full,I give you a big applaud for all the hard work you do.and they know the routine.and I wouldn't remember all the names, great job crystal.
Thanks to mother nature for blessing you guys with all the rain even though I know it's a pain especially when most of your work day is having to be outside in it, it's looking really green this year & just brightens the farm up a lot! The goats are mad at you now but they will be happier this year in the fields grazing longer & we all know how seeing them out there being happy and free makes you smile as well 🐐😊💞
Awesome video ! Crystal you are a master goat woman! Love watching both channels , missed you in cat falls video here in Indiana, but I know your goats and business is first . All the green is worth the rain and unhappy goats. It's a great thing seeing Derek with the kids but 2 videos in one day ,OH yeah ❤️ it !
I started really researching and wanting some milk goats by watching your vlogs. I've learned SO much! You and your family make it look not necessarily easy, but organized. I really appreciate that you post the tough days and not just the rainbows, sunshine, and lollipop days so that people get a REAL sense of what it's really like owning and maintaining a homestead. I still want goats and to make cheese and soap, but watching this video has made me take a step back and really prepare everything beforehand. I am learning from your experience and mistakes. Thank you so much! You don't realize the hopes and dreams you spark in other people's lives. In the meantime, I'm going to Etsy to buy your soaps. God bless you and your family! 🤗
Crystal, YOU ARE AMAZING.
Goats: "feed us! Milk us! Make the rain stop! Don't make us leave the A-frames!"
🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🙄
🤣🤣🤣
Mildly amusing watching 1 of the goats mess with the camera and finally knock it down. Hope the rest of your day is better.
I know. That was funny !
Crystal like I said in one of your earlier vlogs, you deserve a couple of spa days with a bottle of wine. I have the greatest respect for you.
You were doing the best you could! I applaud you for the great effort! You're a tough cookie...
Well done Crystal! The goats may not like the rain but the pastures will love it!
I don't know how you do it all by yourself, your one strong woman. They're not happy goats when it rains 😢
Green grass though goatees 💜
Thank you for sharing Crystal. I love the way you love your goats.
We haven't seen the boys for a long time.

I know someone who needs. A bubble bath, candles and southern sweet iced tea! You’ve earned it today, sweetie 😂
Omgoodness Crystal the girls today make you a difficult morning but you always make it work. You are a trooper!!!
The goats are precious with their attitudes.
Dear Crystal, you should win an academy award for this episode of you and your “Girls”.
You may do some of these things, first I’ve ever seen a goat used in
THE WHEELBARROW manner. That was one of the movements I’ll NEVRR forget.
All my love to ALL of you.
Some days are only meant for testing your patience!! You did great Crystal... especially having to do it all by your lonesome!
😄💙🌵🐐🌧
