  • Frankfurt Airport had to curtail operations as heavy rain lashed the city on Wednesday, August 16th. The terrible weather led to dozens of flights being canceled, and there were even instances of passengers unable to disembark from aircraft after they had landed due to the flooding of the apron! Let’s look at what happened, in today’s video.

    Also what happened is before midnight when flights resumed, around 8 planes were taxiing to take off but because it was 00:00, they all had to return to gate. For example the Korean Air flight FRA-ICN KE946 was scheduled to take off at 19:40, after a long delay at 23:50 they were taxiing to take off, but unfortunately for the passengers & crew before they reached the runaway it clocked 00:00, and aircraft had to return back to gate and disembark etc. The next day the flight took off to Seoul at 2pm, and this happened with few other flights. Imagine the frustration...

    So, Frankfurt airport is not the best airport in Europe after all. If flood water controls was not taking into consideration when planning the construction of the airport beforehand, how come it won that award repeatedly? 😂😅😅

    • @sshah2545
      @sshah2545 Год назад +4

      Dude.. it's an airport. Not the Nile river valley.
      Severe weather, is getting MORE severe everywhere in the world. There are places in the world that deal with this kind of rainfall every year, and so are prepared for it.
      Frankfurt, ans Germany in general is NOT one of those places. This was unusual, and reported on, BECAUSE IT WAS unusual. German, and generally European infrastructure is some of the best in the world. I have no doubt that German cities ans airports are fairly well designed and built to handle most common weather. Obviously, this storm was notably uncommon.
      A single, freak, act-of-god event doesn't make the airports customer service and operational rating any worse, especially if it was consistently good enough to win that award many years in a row.

    • @tallmansfavorites7563
      @tallmansfavorites7563 Год назад +3

      So, you are saying LH should have the power to control weather? And FYI, LH is just a tenant of the FRA airport, so the flooding is their issue,except it isn't. Even the best maintained drain system cannot handle inches of rain and hour. Having worked the ramp for 35 years, and even with safety protocols regarding lightning, I have had 2 indirect lightning experiences. You really think it is wise for anyone to be out working with lightning??
      One other note, when you can buy a ticket for a plane ride, one day, someday, read the conditions of carriage - the airlines are not responsible for weather related delays or cancellations,so nyet to your hotel hopes.

    • @heidirabenau511
      @heidirabenau511 Год назад

      So it's LH's fault that there is a flood? Maybe stay in school kid, to learn how to speak English and formulate arguments.
