Confused on how he even thought to tap out for a play or two I understand a reality where that’s an option but I never had a clue this was an option. Gotta appreciate his independent thinking and individualism at least haha
@djTorchLive he shouldn't because your point is irrelevant. A winner sucks it up and plays. Richardson isn't him. Maybe Richardson over comes this and turns into him but trotting him out there the past two seasons when he was available didn't help him.
What I haven't seen talk of, granted there's a lot of coverage and haven't seen it all, is he's supposed to be a "dual threat" - his running is supposed to be a threat. He basically undermined what's was left of his value-prop; clearly he's not a passer. If he has to come out every few plays like an RB, then he's not a franchise QB.
It also makes you think that he might occasionally take a play off during the game. It's one of the worst looks a quarterback can have because all of the other guys depend on you to make them look good.
Im not gonna get to judgemental of the young man but thats wild that he would tap out! Im sure his teammates & coaches are wondering if hes got it in him to play further
@@djTorchLive LOL let's keep it real! It's not like these guys are lighting up the field and are the long term solutions. They're temporary fixes until these teams can get real QB's! LOL
He's more likely a guy who should be on the bench for a couple years to really learn and work on fundamentals. By age 26 he has the potential to be pretty decent. But he has to put in the work and it may take a long time.
He shouldn't have lied. But he could have said...I made a bad call there. I shouldn't have done that and I regret doing that. I've talked to my guys already and told them I'm sorry for doing that and it won't happen again.
I've been a defender of AR but he has always walked the line of being confident and self-assured vs. showing signs of arrogance and entitlement, so hopefully this stint on the bench is a good motivator and true humbling experience for him. I think a player only considers tapping out, even for one play, if he has no fear of losing his job. AR needs to hold himself to a higher standard going forward and never get too comfortable again.
Good on AR for being honest. That being said some things are better left unsaid. I have wanted Flacco all year because I want my team to win. AR may be great but he isn't right now.
I have been watching the NFL since the mid sixties and I've never heard of or seen a QB tap out because he's tired, injury is the only time I've seen a QB do this....
He's in it for the money, that isn't going to be enough when you play QB. It's too demanding a position to get by on physical gifts alone. You must be 100% committed. I hope he figures it out but this speaks to character more than anything else and character typically doesn't change much once you hit adulthood
Andrew was talking monster hits as well. With the exception of Peyton Manning most of the Colts QBs have been getting hammered, just like Andrew. Maybe they should try to change that.
Imagine being a 350lb offensive lineman watching your supposed athletic freak of a qb come out of the game tired. No way you're looking at him the same after that.
I totally understand that it's completely unprecedented for a QB to do that, and it's a horrible look. But this kid has only played like 10 games in the past 3 calendar years. He's not in football shape and that starts with him having a hip injury a few weeks ago - he probably couldn't even jog around the practice field. So I think it's a little overblown. But I totally agree that Flacco is the better choice - he's been lights out for the last few years and Richardson's 57 passer rating is beyond awful.
Shouldn't have to lie about something you shouldn't ever, ever do. It's what he DID that shows he's not a football player and not a leader. The lie would have been an issue when the truth came out via the locker room. It WOULD get out. Fan response is nothing. What his teammates see is everything. Richardson has no credibility in the organization, and now the enormous deficiencies in his game will be magnified.
All hype. Richardson is fragile, mentally and physically - has been since his days at Florida. He's always been a work in progress, and he's never been that good. An occasional splash play every now and then to impress unwary scouts and owners. But I hope the Colts give him a huge contract in the off season - my guess is they will.
I will just say to these clown teams " I told you so", I called Richardson a bust, a reach and I was called "crazy and I don't know football and I was a hater", nah cuz, I know football and I watch players IN GAMES and not just highlights. Richardson was a terrible pick. I said he would be out of the league by year 4, due to his inability to read defenses and his inaccuracy or he would he constantly injured. You hear me now? 😂😂
Richardson is a very inexperienced 22 year old kid. It's entirely likely that he may need to do some growing up (because 22 year old boys are often not making the best decisions and that's just a reality of life). He probably should ride the bench for the next season and a half. Raw ability make take time to develop. Right now he's genuinely awful.
Quite honestly, he was getting hammered all game. All you non players may not know this but getting hit with the force he was taking tires you out. They had been repeatedly sending him on designed runs and he was getting smashed. If you don't want your QB tapping out then maybe don't get him hurt. The Colts should have had his back. Oh well, he will be sent to another Team that will appreciate his services better. Keep Joe in there.
What are you talking about? He had 6 rushes all game. That series went JT, pass, JT, pass, AR run, JT, JT, pass, then that pass play that he ran on. The pass before he ran all the way to the end zone to yell at the ref about the penalty. But that was not an AR run heavy series.
The future of the NFL. Snowflakes even at 6’4 250. The reason players are all getting hurt is because they don’t train for contact. They train for the mirror. Kung fu masters punch wood to make their hands stronger than the wood. NFL players hit pillows!
Liars are the worst, these worthless host are encouraging it. Disgusting this is the way corporations and society are today, encouraged to lie and be a dishones person. CRAZY!!!
Colts should be happy he did that because it made their choice much easier to make the change.

As a pitcher in BB I remember my arm hurting so bad that between pitches it hung like a wet noodle on my side !!! Ask to come out , NEVER !!!!!
yeah buddy cuz throwing a baseball and being a quarterback are the same thing

I should’ve just waited a few minutes for Mike to bring up this exact point.
I think it shows they let him tap out in practice.
Jimmy Johnson said "Fatigue makes cowards of us all"
Vince Lombardi.
Yea but the next play was a hand-off I mean c'mon he couldn't hang in there for a hand-off.
Jimmy Johnson never took the hits this young man was talking but you don't care do you?

@ have you ever played sports?
You don't tap out as a QB. Catch your breath in the huddle or audible to a hand off.

& his athleticism was the reason he got drafted to begin with.
It's because he hasn't played very much football, so he's indecisive on the field because his head is spinning.
Been watching football since the early 80’s and never seen qb leave a game because he was tired
It also makes you think that he might occasionally take a play off during the game. It's one of the worst looks a quarterback can have because all of the other guys depend on you to make them look good.

As a military member. Glad to see the NFL players have standards.
Richardson will be a forgotten backup within 2 years.
Funny, they said the same thing about Baker Mayfield, Russell Wilson, Justin Fields and Jameis Winston ... Funny, they've all started this year.
@djTorchLive yea but those guys don't have below 50% comp pct. AR was 10-32 last week. He is not a starting QB.
He’s the opposite of a typical backup though. Most backups are game manager types.

Poor Bruce Young got pounded on every game all last season, running 4 his life and NEVER ONCE TAPPED OUT!!!
This is why it's easy to have sympathy for Young. Seems like a good dude, got put in a terrible situation. Still battled.

This guy tapped out of the league with that stunt he pulled against the Texans.
Hope he does not go to a dark room with Aaron Rodgers, one guy will have to Batman and one guy is Bane. LOL!
Or worse, one has to be Batman and the other has to be Robin. 😂

You get paid millions to be out there. He wasn’t injured. He just wanted to take a play off. That is absolutely unacceptable.
He needed to evaluate if the owner was OK with him doing what needed to be done.
IT HAD NO EFFECT
He’s ain’t gonna lie
Bust pick
Obviously he's super week mentally. Would be surprised if he succeeds in the NFL
Forgot the locker room i lost my parlay because of him
McCourty is actually upset Richardson doesn't easily lie like he does. I
He's fortunate that QBs are in demand. Otherwise he'd be the football version of Wally Pip.
