Taj mahal was built as ordered by the mughal king Shah Jahan between 1631and1643 in memory of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal after her death. Ahmad Lahauri was the chief architect of taj mahal. It required 22 years to build.

For those who are complaining about the Christ the Redeemer does not deserve to be one of the 7 wonders. Whether you like it or not, Christ is one of the 7 wonders. Second, there is no such thing as "wonders must be ancient." Who said you need to be old? That does not exist.

All the wonders are great but we must agree that the Tag Mahal and the roman Colosseum stands out.
They have nothing on Machu Picchu.
why? that's just marketing. every tourist that comes to machu´picchu gets overwhelmed by this huge sanctuary, it's literally an enormous construction on the top of a mountain you have to climb
