@@K1000Master basically? Those are literal inner demons. You're in the mind of... VERY troubled individuals in the second half of the game, people who find themselves incapable of keeping those things in check.

Yes, there's a lot of moments in Psychonauts 2 that references the first game. Raz also does the same thing the next time he encounters Censors in the Brain Tumbler experiment, but once again to no effect.
Theory: The Butcher is just as much a caricature of Oleander's father as Raz's mental image of his dad was of his real dad, and was probably just a normal man trying to make a living doing what he was best at. Didn't make it any less traumatic for the young Morceau.

The sub documents made to help the devs build the metal world around each character gives more context to each characters mind, most importantly that oleanders dads reasoning for killing the rabbit was it was the runt of the litter only good for pig feed, this scared his son to be an over achiever to avoid such a label....intentional or not his father scared him and made him the twisted megalomaniac he was in the first game
In the li-po documents, I'd imagine that he was a stern father but not abusive or anything, and the incident with the rabbit was probably just some cold way of teaching Oleander a lesson or something.

When I was a kid, the brain tank scared me ALOT and I don't know how.
I find the mega censor the first boss kinda unsettling and also the meat circus made me scared too
Probably the uncanny way it moves and I've always been scared by things trying to run me over. There's also that damn bull in Edgar's mind where you have to act very quickly on the streets and how it comes with no warning so you have to rely on timing.

I gotta be honest the absence of nightmares in Psychonauts 2 despite the traumatic experiences everyone was going through was weird
That is very strange how really there were only 5 regular bosses in psychonauts 2 when the original had way more
@@aruce9 Well they were more story oriented, in the original there were more bosses because they wanted to introduce the world of Psychonauts, In the second one there wasn't much need for more since the bosses that do appear are alot more of a bigger deal in the minds of these characters
In Bob's Bottles it's a mixture of 3 bosses from their real life counterparts, and in the Gameshow there are 3 bosses of yet more real life counterparts, the game delivers more at the price of less to deal with
The game does make up for this, because of the little bosses they make the Npc's spawn more frequently in the mid battle sections, so they definitely do feel like actual bosses
It's like they say "Quality over Quantity"
Inner Demons/Personal Demons too (the exploding censors and I don't remember what they're called). The Panic Attacks do have some similarities to the Nightmares though.
The concept of making a platform scen when the camera is the vision of the fish is a pretty good idea.

watching this video i have learned one thing... i wouldve had an easier time with half of these bosses if i could just remember that i have levitation shield and the ranged attack... i kind of just never used them and thus would always forget i have them... i never had a problem with jump height or move speed so i never used levitation... i suck at using the shield and prefer to just dodge or pummel them before they hit me... and the ranged attack just felt like a slow limited use version of the standard punches... in hindsight maybe neglecting to use those powers was a bad idea...
Bruh I was disappointed that I didn't get a dedicated levitation button in Psychonauts 2 lol

Imagine what these bosses would be like in a remake with gameplay and graphics similar to Psychonauts 2.
Honestly for the enemies in the original psychonauts I bet that those sensor bombs would probably be called bottled emotion:soon will explode and those black enemies nightmares similar to panic attacks being they came out of nowhere
I think you’re right with them being called Nightmares. I think I saw somewhere that the censor bombs are called personal demons though.

I'm gonna bet in the next game (if there is gonna be one), they're gonna throw in Oleanders dad (the butcher) but he's gonna be like a nice guy and not nightmarish and giant sized, but Oleander is either gonna question him, be mad about him killing his favorite animals, or he's just gonna be neutral

Oleander’s dad is canonically dead. Him and the rest of Oleander’s family died in a meat grinder accident according to the official lore.
@@spikrib We don't know how much of the li-po documents is canon, especially with how much have been seemingly retconned in Psychonauts 2. Oleander's father could still be out there for all we know.
@@MisterJohnDoe well, its even mentioned in the game that his dad and family died. In one of Oleander's memories you can see him reading a note with a pained expression and it cuts to the words "Meat grinder accident" hinting at his family's death, which is another thing that sewed his mental issues.

Okay to provide some context to what Little Oly said on how Little Bunnies were good for nothing besides food we’ve seen the memory vault about where he gets his trauma from and we know that the bunny that his father killed was to small to sell as food and the butcher tells Oly this how it’s too small for food or for a pelt so he said the only thing the runt bunny was good for was to feed the pigs and this scared Oleander because he was the runt of his family which is why the butcher says Daddy’s gonna kill ya because Oleander felt since he was the runt his dad was going to kill him and use him as Pig Feed
