3 Day Wild Camp | Testing My Packraft

  • 3 Days spent in my new Alpacka Packraft, really enjoyed getting out to a local canal to practice in my packraft and try out my gear before my trip up to Scotland. I spend 2 nights wild camping alone in some lovely countryside, paddling about with a bit of fishing. Moreover I rate this Alpacka raft so much and think its a great piece of kit for future trips when you want to combine hiking/cycling with paddling.
I hope you enjoy this video :)

I purchased an Itiwit kayak earlier in the year. It opens up tons of new possibilities on where I can camp - and also means it is less likely that other people can discover your camp spot. A total win/win.

For this type of fishing I recommend an ultralight equipment, a 1000 or 2000 reel and a shorter rod, they are short shots and from the boat you do not need much, apart, if you manage to hook a fish, the fight of the animal is much more enjoyed, great video as usual, keep inspiring other girls!

Thank you for a great video! I have the Alpacka "Mule" and love it; at 79, I am limited to the amount of weight I can haul about these days so the pack raft is a perfect solution for my camping trips.
One thing potential buyers should give thought to is having the zipper- storage option installed. I really wanted this feature but after researching the extra tending the zipper required ( eg sand in the teeth) and how useless the raft would suddenly be if far out on a trip the zipper failed ( you can patch a simple puncture), I very reluctantly just bought the basic raft, which is admittedly still expensive but oh so much fun!

Good thing that ALL cattle are colour blind, Matadors use a red cape or muleta but it is the movement of the material that agitates the bull. Good thing or you could become a Noahs Ark full of cows. Thanks for sharing your escape pod adventure, and multitasking techniques. Awesome ruins, Swans add a touch of enchantment. AWESOME VID BECKS,That is the stealth option if your colour blind its black ! What tent you.on with Becky ? Not the banshee i thought you had ,, a dodgy pole will do that though , Tip with lures spinners .. knot onto a clip swivel .then your always ready to clip a lure on .. itl clip to the reel and will stop kinks in the line when you reel the line onto the spool . That clip swivel takes all the twists out of your fishing line like magic , 👍👍👍 GLAD YOUR ENJOYING THE CRAP OUT OF IT BECKS .. I had the same thing happen to me, I was doing an inspection and I couldn’t find the location due to snow so I drove back up to get a signal to make a phone call and when I looked out the passenger side window (right side of the car) there were about 50 or more cows next to my truck.
Since I never experienced anything like that I told another inspector and he said they wanted food.

In the US we call that type of lure a "spoon", rather than a "spinner". I would like to suggest that you learn to tie a Palomar knot for attaching your terminal tackle (hooks and lures). It's very easy to tie, even easier to remember how to tie, and makes a slip free knot in any sort of line, including braided line. It's really all you need.
What is that structure over your shoulder at about 16:46? You lot (did I say that right?) are used to seein' castles and Stonehinges and the like, everywhere you look, but we don't have that here in the States, so you have to tell us about old structure like that in the background. LOL
OMG, I just got to 17:22 in the video and you got some really good footage of the structure I was referring to and there was no comment at all. We Americans are dumb about such things and it's interesting to us, so share anything you know about those kind of structures.
Your boat is starting to really interest me. I think you're saying that you can actually store gear in the TUBES of the raft? Is that right?
I'm glad to hear that your cows are just like our cows, you never know what they are going to find noteworthy and lock onto.
Very enjoyable video, Have fun in Scotland.

Everything ever built in UK was built by us, although liars and thieves love to write lies about invasions that didn't happen.
For example, every UK child is taught by Italy that the Romans invaded, they tried, twice, and were booted out twice. We have zero roman structures above ground. Proof.
We are wall to wall castles attributed to the Normans, again, we built everything.
US is a very "young" country.
You have all your history to write.

Your photography skills are most outstanding. And you thought you were alone only to discover you have an audience of curious cows. Was wondering how you put air back into the raft.
