Here is a tip for all fruit pies, mix ingredients together and cook on the stove top in a sauce pan until the ingredients begin to thicken, then place pie filling in your uncooked pie shell and bake for half the time -usually half an hour until it looks set and bubbly. Cooking ingredients on the stove top first allows the crust to become crisp on the bottom without precooking it. Note: stay with your pie filling and stir often, all that sugar and flour will stick easily.

Same here. Pap had 2 mulberry trees and we’d eat as many as we could reach. Then granny would bring us the ladder and make us pick her some...lol. She’d make mulberry jam and cobbler...omg it was SOOO good!

There was a tree in a park we'd pass by on the walk to school. We'd monitor their progress and eat as many as we could when they ripened. 😎

In Arizona, as a child, both our neighbors trees were taller than our backyard brick wall. Strangely, my sister and I always had scratches on knees and elbows, whenever those berries were ripe.

🎼"Here we go round the Mulberry bush, the Mulberry bush, the Mulberry Bush" ; ) (FIrst thing that came to mind when I saw the title. Looks really yummy. Would love to have plants like that, that give me enough for a tart, before the birds get the majority of them.

I was eleven and my mum wanted me to do more in her garden. We planted a mulberry the year before and it was going feral. More a bush ten feet high and across. So mum said to me to prune the tree. Now the adult me remembers being asked to prune the tree but eleven year old me heard "PRUNE THE TREE." Mum came out to examine my handiwork an hour later. All the whip thin branches were aligned in a frying rack, neat and tidy and ready for the next BBQ. The tree was now a six inch high stump and for good measure I'd pounded in a piece of copper pipe to the heart-wood. I recall hearing that that was how you kill a tree. I remember being proud of the job till mum got mad, saying I'd been asked to prune the branches, not kill the tree.
Hard to kill a mulberry. I know. I tried. It came back and fruited madly for the next three decades, till new owners at the property razed the gardens and laid down concrete.

I love mulberry’s. It’s hard to find them here where they actually bear fruit, everyone wants the fruitless varieties for shade instead I guess, so what I’ve been doing is buying cuttings online and grafting different varieties of fruiting mulberry to my fruitless trees and then propagating extra cuttings as the grafted trees grow.

Looks delicious!! 😍 We have 5 baby mulberry trees so I'm sure I will be making lots of Mulberry treats in the near future! I will definitely have to try your recipe! I know here in the US, a lot of people will put a clean tarp or sheet (obviously one you don't care if it gets stained lol) under the tree and shake it gently for the ripe berries to fall down, makes it easier to collect a large amount. One of our neighbors had a huge mulberry tree when I was growing up, part of it hung over the back of their fence and they didn't care if the neighborhood kids had some for a snack. Great memories with my sister who is now in Heaven 💗

This year I had the biggest harvest of mulberries ever! They came on quickly and just kept coming. Large 1st picking, then had to pick like every 2 to 3 days as more ripened. The birds and I kept a very close eye on them. I'm proud to say I got most of the ones within reaching distance, but there were sooo many I really didn't mind sharing the top of the bush harvest with those greedy critters. Dehydrated most of them. I now have quarts of dried berries just waiting for inspiration to hit. Gotta say, pie is sure looking good!! Yum

i bought a dwarf mulberry tree over ten years ago for my wife and was told to prune it after every flowering but I've managed to pretty much kill it. Just a few week ago I noticed a new shoot from the roots as the trunk of whats left starts to die and dry out. Maybe this time I'll just leave it to grow by itself.

This year I made a couple of keto mulberry/coconut slices with a baking Stevia to replace sugar. Yum. Froze one to see how it would turn out. No problems. I made another one for the freezer - ready for Christmas.

I live in the Pacific northwest of America. Blackberries grow everywhere, they're an invasive species!!! About 20 years ago I was collecting research data in Seattle WA. I saw blackberries everywhere on the sidewalk, but no blackberry vines. I looked up and saw ripe blackberries on a tree. Me being me, I collected some.
Once home I planted them as seed starts and learned what they are. I now have a 5 fopt tall tree that I prune...so far no fruit...but I know what it is and where I live about 450 miles south I haven't seen the species growing. Also, I now know more about the song..."...all around the Mulberry bush".

I use old sheets under the tree. When I used a tarp, if it rains, the berries lose their flavor. Sheets allow the water to pass through so the berries don't sit in it until you get to them.

We're lucky enough to have enough berries to make a cake.. was thinking a few cups mulberries, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon, vanilla essence an soke brown sugar, cream inside the pie blended together an then adding pectin to make it more tart like .
A milk an cream reduction would be alright as well to add protein potentially im just a bit on the inexperience side wondering if it will all go bad within a day in the fridge after i make it lol
