Why i discovered this Channel so late? Phil you have to talk your opponents about this. See you. Rain Talking about the match: Premodern is so skill intensive that a wrong play could cost you a match. That last breath was... Expensive 😅
In game 2, my first idea was the 2nd birds as well, but pausing the video and taking way more time than you can realistically do, I reconsidered and I think ditching the squee is better. My reasoning is that the way you lose the match-up is by getting rushed and disrupted at the same time. By the time squee becomes good, you're already in a winning position. The extra birds can help casting an early drawn opposition or play monkey around daze in a later turn.
Thanks for the input - after rewatching this, I'm still not sure which was correct. I like that Squee sets me up to get value from Careful Study and Frantic Search, and with the opponent doing everything they can to keep me from resolving Survival, I will probably need that Study and Search value to keep up with Gush. But like you mentioned, a quick Dreadnought is very dangerous, and having a bit more early acceleration can easily make the difference between winning and losing. Plus, there's the utility of Birds when combined with Cradle and Tradewind Rider, but then there's also the possibility that the opponent lands a Cursed Totem and I have to dig for an answer.
I love your deckbuilding. Hermit ROCK is my favorite and I enjoy this too.
Thanks!
