July 21 - July 28, 2017 - Mammoth Lakes, Bend, Oregon

Following only a short stay near Mammoth Lakes, California, in Inyo National Forest, I proceed northward to Bend, Oregon. During the long drive, I balk at gas prices, reprimand drivers who cross the yellow line, and reflect upon my purpose. In Bend, I soak up the culture and hunker down for the week in Deschutes National Forest.
