I watched the last lecture when it first came out. It was so inspirational to me even then. As a very recently diagnosed stage 4 terminal cancer patient I hear what he’s saying totally differently today. Randy wouldn’t see 50, I won’t see my 60th birthday. He has helped so many ppl by giving so much of himself at the end.
I started crying at 2:24, I've been a Pausch fan from the begining, I can't imagine what his wife is going through right now. I have thought about her and the kids and have prayed for her. I know what its like to raise 3 babies alone, If anybody from the Pausch family sees this, please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers!
i always literally cry when I see his last words... there's always hope in his mind... courage... a very good example of a father, a teacher and most importantly, a legacy maker!!!
His raw truth and honesty is inspiring. He was truly a special person with so much bravery. I read his blog up until he couldn’t write anymore, when the cancer completely took over his body and it’s heartbreaking. I listen to “Time Passages” by Al Stewart and it reminds me of him. I come back to his lectures to remind myself to spend whatever time I have on this earth, wisely. Thank you Randy Pausch for giving me this gift, to love and cherish my loved ones and to be bold, courageous and to live my truth. You’ve blessed my life and I’m so grateful for your legacy 💛

Today, I received the news that my mother has Stage 4 lung cancer, and it will kill her. Due to various reasons, I haven't spent as much time with her, as I should have, these past 9 years. But since we've returned to the UK, we've been inseparable. Now I am with her and taking time off from everything to be with her and love her as she deserves. I will show this video to my mum, to encourage her. This is such a beautiful story about perseverance in the face of death, of our own mortality. *I had read the book years ago, and watched the videos, but it never became as real to me as it is now... losing my mum is going to be rough, but at least we can spend however long she has left, together, making each and every day count.
May your mother's last days be the greatest days she has ever lived . May you be able to make your mother feel the same way she has made you feel throughout your life. Or may miracle happens and you get to live a lot more time with your mother than you think you can. My best wishes. I love my mother so much that even the very thought of loosing her someday, however distant, makes me cry. I feel so sorry for you. God bless :)
Thank you to all those who reached out to me and my mum... she just mived into a rented apartment in greater London... busy unpacking and getting her all set up chemo and radio are a no go... too weak and too risky... and imuno are ruled out so just quality of life and pain management now... at least i am here with her... thank you for the support and care... and God bless Randy and his family for this inspiring video..!

Saw his "Last Lecture" from CMU and Time Management Lecture from UVA. Such a great human being. His teachings are gonna last forever. He did exactly the right thing and it created a huge impact on not just his students and colleagues or his family but the whole World. If he would have been alive, I would have said him "Thank you for living the way you did and teaching us all how to".
I still try to live my life by the way he laid things out. I grew up in a pretty rough place and struggled for years. One of the major turning points in my life came due to Randy Pausch and The Last Lecture he was still alive when I was fortunate enough to see this lecture. If you haven't had a chance, you should really take a watch. I suggest the 1 hour 44 minute version, it explains everything.
Professor Pausch found a wonderful way to leave his legacy- to share his life's learnings. Such a precious gift from such a very special human being. Such humility and heartfelt sincerity. We are all dying. While Randy was speaking these words, thousands of other people actually died. The difference was that he knew when he was going to die approximately. Having said that, rather than sit on his hands and bitch about it, he actually did something about it. What an incredibly brave man and from what I saw in his previous youtubes, he actually had a really positive slant on life in that he saw that material gain was much less important than personal achievements and following your passion was the ultimate goal in life. What an amazing inspiration he was.

I don't think I've ever seen a more inspirational human being in my life....I sincerely hope that wherever he is that he is at peace and watching and loving his family. I learned so much from him and it saddens me that i never had the chance to meet him, as so did many. But I know that as long as we remember his message he will always be here watching and teaching us to live the best and most fulfilling life we can in our world

I have been enthralled with this man since I first heard of him appearing on Oprah to reprise his "Final Lecture" speech to his students. I have since watched as much as I can to learn in his words what has insipred him in his life - he has moved me greatly.
My dad died of cancer 14 yrs ago and mom tells me that he wanted me to be an engineer and he even saved money for my studies. i dont have the fortune of having his video , but am sure he would have been the same like you professor. i graduated last year from an engineering college ...
Life is not about what we can accumilate as we get to keep nothing, it is about what we give away everyday to those we love and more importantly to those we find it hard to love, Randy gave all that he could to all those he loved and to many he never knew. We find the meaning of life when we live for a reason that is greater than our self.

How sad his death was for his students, and how hard it must be for his wife. However, this was an extraordinary person, and I susprect she is extrodinary as well. I share Randy's vocation as an engineer, and wish that I had have been fortunate enough to attend one of his lectures. I have seen his last lecture and I often use humor in mine to keep the audience engaged. I hope his kids make him very proud.
he became an accidental celebrity.....but you can see that hes that teacher you liked the most in high school or college, hes the best boss you ever had, it wouldnt have mattered if Randy hadnt done the Last Lecture because those people around him would never forget him, and CMU would honour him for his contribution.
