Hi William, I am a big fan of your videos. I just started playing recently and fell in love with disc healing and your videos have been a tremendous help in my beginner's journey. When I look at your HPS, superb timing and overall mastery of the spec, it really inspires me to get better! I went through the weak auras and add-ons your linked (very useful stuff) but I could not find anything about your "proc HUD" (for lack of better words). It seems that you managed to display instant radiances as the outer white arc, and are able to see your surge of light procs as well when shadow covenant is active (The default HUD stop displaying them when shadow covenant is active and it drives me nuts haha). Would you mind sharing how to setup a similar HUD?
So my action bar HUD is not made of weakauras, nor do I recommend that. I use the action bar addon called Dominos and just put my action bars in the middle of my screen. Standard action bars are way better for spell casting. However, my display for Radiant Providence isn't shared on purpose, but maybe I'll share it! My purple screen shift should be available for Shad. Cov. if that floats your boat!

Btw I would be interested in the 1on1 coaching but I am thinking that some people will wait for the promised changes to disc priest before getting coaching. Looking forward to the rework to get more build options for this. Btw what are your thought on the potential rework for Disc priest?
Once I get partner on Metafy I would love to have you as my first student- although numbers are being reworked this week, the bulk of what I have to teach is unrelated to all that! I'm looking forward to the rework big time, curious to see what the devs mean by looking into altering talents.
I have two keybinds on my mouse and that is enough for me and theyre my fade and feathers and autorun lmao. Im used to doing everything with my left hand playing guitar and and or piano and I find it quite easy to retain both sometimes moving with wasd and using keybinds with wasd
So I'm a musician too, played flute for like 20 years but does not change my stance on that approach being objectively less efficient. Actually proves the exact point I was making- I think a lot of people do this to themselves early on and build a game of twister into their approach which they spend years building muscle memory with. However, it's simply less efficient to have your movement and positioning inputs coming from the same hand. It's better to compartmentalize and divide those between your left and right hands. I'd challenge you to at least take all of your green healing spells and Atonement healing attacks to your mouse- if you leave some spells behind on your keyboard I think it's fine, but a bad idea to leave such frequent spells to compete with movement input. Moreover, for such important spells you don't want to ever have your fingers searching for the correct button to press, a mouse activation eliminates that. Smite for example I use roll forwards with my mouse, it's the most frequent cast we have. No way I want to have to control such a mundane and frequent spell with my keys and compete with my fingers for positioning over Smite. I loveeee talking about keybinds, if you're interested please reach out. I have a whole diagram of my system prepared and can talk more in depth about it.
Looking at how many actions you have to do in order to top your group makes me realise my switching from disc to hpala was a wise step. I just hit 2 buttons and that does the trick... All in all, always good to see discs carrying people on bosses like this, keep it up.

Sorry it is a little confusing. There are two halves of the puzzle. /knp import for the core settings if you like. And then within the Target Helper module you import for that.
Ultimately you're right, disc can perform well when played well. But why would I accept a disc priest when I have 10 Holy Paladins signing up for my group. The issue is that a paladin played at 90% efficiency would still be better than a 100% parsing disc. So if I have a pally and a priest applying then I'll simply take the option with the highest chance of success. I know nothing about either player, so I'd obviously choose the plate wearing class with overtuned healing as if you're both terrible healers, at least id have more chance with a terrible paladin. I'd go as far to say that calling players out for not wanting to take inferior specs is toxic in itself. The problem lies entirely with Blizzard and their testing, not the player base. Sidenote. Your videos are fantastic and I for one would love more frequent uploads. Subscribed
Yeah so what I said is a 90% HPal parse (which isn't easy to achieve) is NOT out performing my 100% parse. I think you're grossly over estimating Paladins and underestimating others. The break points isn't as dramatic as you've been led to believe. It's an indoctrination process amongst the wow community where you're only saying this because it's what you heard. If you want to draft some numbers to show me a 90% parse from an H Pal beats my 100% parse, I will look at them. But all the figures I saw showed every Paladin under me in HPS and DPS. Moreover, I think this shows a lack of knowledge if you think my Armor type has anything to do with my overall defensiveness. And it's the craziest shit I've ever heard to say that since I don't believe in your doctrine I'm toxic. The problem is equally shared between the devs and players- as example here. Just because someone gave HPal a title of Meta doesn't mean shit to me and it doesn't have to either. You believe it means something absolute and significant because you want to believe it. It always boils down to the player. Period.
I completely disagree with you. Are you arguing that a Holy Paladin does not have more tools and HPS to perform better than Disc Priest in M+ with 2 players with the same skill with both? I'm going to go ahead and assume you don't think that and are aware Holy Paladin is/was a better choice. So I will re-iterate what I said earlier. As I do not know the healers who sign up to my keys personally, I will ALWAYS choose the class that is better in that content. I have to assume both players are equally as bad/skilled as each other. That does not make me toxic, or mean there is a problem with the player base. It's simple common sense. And on your other point regrading survivability. Yes your armour type does matter. There are tons of fixate mechanics, physical aoe spells and general mob melee hits. A Holy Paladin is surviving a melee hit from a rogue mob on 26 fortified. You are not. Simple as that. Not to mention outside of armour the Paladin has more DR's than a Priest and is infinitely more defensive than a priest. TL:DR - Holy Paladin had more healing M+, better externals, Better survivability, Full immunities when needed and a lay on hands for emergencies. It had better damage despite disc being a damage to heal spec and it had interrupts and multiple stops to cc mobs. Overall without knowing either player behind the keyboard, you'd have to be an absolute idiot to not take the Holy Paladin. I agree massively with your point that the game sucked with such imbalance in the comps, but I can't understand how you can call the player base toxic for wanting the best chance of success they could get.
"I'd go as far to say that calling players out for not wanting to take inferior specs is toxic in itself". No it's not. Meta specs are only needed(and that's debatable) on really high keys(+27 or higher) so if you don't invite "inferior" specs at lower keys and you stay strictly to the meta, then yes you ARE toxic and you create a toxic community where only a few picked specs can progress.
@@JustDiscipline Me too. As a Devoker main i'm so frustrated about this "meta" bullshit. I literally can't play my spec in Mythic+ cause i'm always asked to play Aug. And what i find even more hilarious is that Devoker is actually one of the best dps for Mythic+.
the player is definitely more important than the class. except when you're building a pug group and your decisions are based purely on statistical performance without knowing anyone's skill. if i have to gamble on two players im always going to take the safest gamble. similarly i am also a player who won't always hard switch to fotm but i do take advantage of when i have a spec in my roster that is currently performing the best. the way i look at it is if i spend equal time and effort on two specs and bring equal levels of familiarity and skill with two specs- im going to play the spec that produces the best results.
@JustDiscipline right but in a pug I don't know that. if you are sitting in que next to an equal ilvl and equal io meta spec what incentive do I actually have at that moment to choose you over them? it doesn't matter that you are actually better. from the group leader pov both players have equal 50/50 chance of being "actually better". so the only metric we have to go by is statistical performance.

@@JustDiscipline id like to see your keybinds because I do something similar and wonder if you’ve got any get tricks I missed
@@mightypy7395 If you can reach out to my Discord I have my whole binding system laid out
Looking at how many actions you have to do in order to top your group makes me realise my switching from disc to hpala was a wise step. I just hit 2 buttons and that does the trick...
All in all, always good to see discs carrying people on bosses like this, keep it up.
Wise if you're lazy and bad :D
@@JustDiscipline After playing disc from the end of Legion straight to DF I realised that I'm tired of cutting my way through the bushes with a pair of rusty scissors when I could just use a turbo mower. It's not about easy/difficult, it's about optimizing your efforts. And you calling me lazy&bad is not nice, I bet your parents haven't raised you to be this kind of guy.
@@MrTree-yw5yw I can say whatever I want here, you came on a Discipline channel talking about Holy Paladins, you had it coming. Just because you couldn't handle Discipline or found it hard doesn't mean anything to me, I find it easy and play it specifically for the thinkingman perspective.
@@JustDiscipline Keep convincing yourself that disc is a spec for elitists and "thinking" people (and not just a poor designed spec which needs tons of adjustments), I'm long past this stage. And who'd have guessed that you turned out to be a douche...?
Your KUI import string seems to be broken. "Import Failed (empty table)"
Sorry for the trouble, I just updated it. Should work now!
For the life of me, lol I can't seem to import the KUI profile. /knp import , I paste Disc's string in and it just gives me "Kui Nameplates Import failed (empty table)"
@@Houser01 I am not sure what command that is you're using... try importing it though the options panel instead.
Esc - Options - AddOns - Kui Target Helper - Profiles
Please let me know if it still doesn't work! I'm tempted to think you don't have the 'Target Helper' download so that's why you can't import the code which is for Target Helper
@@JustDiscipline That was it - working now! Just need to config the actual nameplate - but the target helper is a-ok.
@@Houser01 The meat of the work comes from the target helper, the core addon just set your width and height prefs, very easy!
any idea how to import kui? /knp import and what next? or is there any other way?

@@kwstas1290 thanks for chiming in, I couldn’t anymore.

@@JustDiscipline hello my hero, i m still waiting your speacil raiance auro 🙏🙏
the player is definitely more important than the class. except when you're building a pug group and your decisions are based purely on statistical performance without knowing anyone's skill. if i have to gamble on two players im always going to take the safest gamble. similarly i am also a player who won't always hard switch to fotm but i do take advantage of when i have a spec in my roster that is currently performing the best. the way i look at it is if i spend equal time and effort on two specs and bring equal levels of familiarity and skill with two specs- im going to play the spec that produces the best results.
I don’t agree with that exception!
@@WilliamBrandoncan you elaborate and tell me why?
@@Norsztec becasue meta isn't always 100% the right choice. I will out perform most metas most of the time.
Yeah, I think that's bullshit and stupid@@Norsztec
