    Not going to lie. This may be one of my favorite videos you have done. There are some other top contenders out there (Drawing Objects in Perspective is probably my all time favorite) but this one is definitely up there. Great content, your fun sense of humor, and it was informative. I feel like your going to realize come June or July that this channel is going to be the sweet-spot, your going to have the most fun here, and your really going to have engaged audiences. Your other channel is great (the reason I became a member the first place) but it has a specific purpose (reviews mainly) with this channel you can really open your creative doors and just have fun, and when your having fun it shows and we have more fun. Just my two cents for the day lol

    On free alternate software , there are quite a few . Just as a note , Blender has a full 2d animation mode , which is quite a bit easier then the 3d mode and not too bad for beginners . Krita has an animation mode too . The 3d and 2d mode can be mixed but its not a necessity . I think the 2d mode is very much built for 2d artists which is why its a quite a bit easier then learning the full 3d suite and features .

    7:23 - Have you seen Storyboarder by Wonder Unit? It is free and open source. And, it looks pretty cool. (I haven't had time to really use it yet. I spend too much time watching cool dudes on RUclips. 😄) I am pretty sure that you can import the audio and then keyframe the drawings. The coolest part is that it has this 3d space where you can dump in human figures and objects. Move them around to approximate the scene you want. Then just adjust for the next scene. Kinda like stop motion, but with longer jumps between stops. Then, you can still draw on top of those. Plus, you can jump out and edit any scene in your favorite art program too. Then, you can generate a little "animated" video of the whole thing. Heck, for some of my purposes, that is all I will need. Because I am not trying to make "ART." I am just trying to convey a few ideas.

    12:32 - What about Grease Pencil... within Blender? It's 2D, but you can work on multiple levels, for that ViewMaster effect. It's vector based, but it looks and works as if it is just a raster drawing app, until you want to edit a vector. Heck, for a while, I thought it was just raster based. Then, you can incorporate 3d into your mostly 2d animation.... but only if you want to. (Again, I haven't actually tried it. Let's just say that I do a lot of research about software that I might want to use for other things that I REALLY want to do.... 🤷)

    • @BradsArtSchool
      @BradsArtSchool  13 дней назад

      Funny story. Yesterday I started my next video for this channel and it's all about Blender. I'm still working on the script but I plan on covering Grease Pencil... or maybe that will be a seperat video... but yeah I'm not super familair with it right now but that's going to be changing soon.

    • @GrantSR
      @GrantSR 13 дней назад

      @BradsArtSchool I'm not super familiar with Grease Pencil either. But the videos that I have seen make it look very very awesome.
      Personally, I always tend toward open source things for me to try and learn, so that if I want to share that with other people, they can do it too even if they can't afford commercial software. I always keep in mind what I'm going to be passing on to the next person. Whether that be physical things, the environment that we live in, or just knowledge that I put in my head.

    You’re about the third person (3 including me) that has ever mentioned using adobe animate. Even adobe has forgotten it’s one of their products.
    Am curious why you used Animate with pngs instead of vectors ? Isn’t that a job for after effects ?
    I think people should use what they feel comfortable with and can achieve their goal, just thought id ask with your drawings coming from procreate. And you mentioned something like ‘PNGs may have been a mistake but more on that later’ . Since that didn’t come up , does that mean there’s a part two??!
    I hope so. Your drawing for beginners class is amazing and you are very multi talented , including the gift of being able to break concepts down and teach them which truly is a gift.
    So happy to see you back with such quality content !! ✨

      @BradsArtSchool  13 дней назад +1

      Thanks!
      ohmygosh I just realized I cut that part but still referenced it in the video 🤦. oops. The PNG thing got kinda cluncky, If I had drawn more directly in Animate then it's easier to edit the artwork so going forward I am doing more of the drawing in Animate and saving procreate for just backgrounds. I actually did that a lot more in this video.
      Why do I use animate over After Effects? I like the hand drawn frame by frameness, even though after effcts is better at moving things across the screen and doing effects. I also was doing web design back in the day when Adobe Animate was called Adobe Flash so I still know the program really well.

    Before i say this i want to say, that video clearly took a lot of work and love. And i don't want to discount anything you put into it. But, i do want to express this feeling i have.
    It wasn't animated.
    Okay, to clarify, it wasn't.. *really* animated. Not in the sense that there was anticipation, motion, squash and stretch, follow through etc.
    Most of it was either frame to frame snap drawings, or sliding images across the screen. It doesn't change it's value, or work, just... To me, the viewer, didnt feel animated.
    When doing a walk cycle if you have 3 frames, 1 front leg, then middle then back, and you handed it in to the teacher and said "look at my animation!" Well... You know.
    I'd love to see a 30-60 second long stereo typical animation, followed by your usual style talking about what you learned while making it. It could give good insight to new artists and animators, while also fitting the theme of the channel.
    If im going to be an Internet critique, the least i can do is offer an idea, right?

    i was just like you, watching videos and reading posts about manifestation, wondering why it wasn’t working for me. i tried everything-affirmations, visualization, the whole deal-but nothing changed. then i came across Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and it all started making sense. chapter 3 opened my eyes to the energy i was putting out, and that shift was life-changing.
