Lady Bird Lake, or Towne Lake as it is also known, is home to some of the best bass fishing in Texas. Here is an old school hack for ya, Tressbassin. Back in the 1990s I was in college at Texas State. We used to fish that lake, which has a no gas engine rule. To get back to the boat ramp faster after a long morning or evening we would turn the engine on, put it in gear and get it going a little faster than the top speed of the trolling motor, but here's the hack. You have to have the trolling motor in the water and both be in your fishing chairs with rods in hands and look like your fishing. The person in the back of the boat can reach over with his foot and make the small steering adjustments. It saves your battery and gets you the the ramp quicker. And no one suspects your engine is doing the work. 👍

Fun Fact...Ladybird Lake is the Mecca of North American carp fishing. Caught a lot of bass out there. I’d go up on the weekends while stationed at Ft. Hood.
Man, that gets me thinking. I am actually a bit of a collector of European carp gear. Maybe need to break it out on the Bird...
@@RetroBassin I actually three British chaps there and they taught me how to use Euro gear and how to carp. I fish Ladybird three times for carp and blanked everyone lol
