I just did this! There’s a way to not get it on your skin! You don’t have to put your nail right in the middle of the polish puddle. I did it at an extreme angle and the very edge of the polish puddle, so no gel on my skin or underneath the nail 🎉
I might make a short showing how because describing it through text sounds confusing haha

Just a thought but you could put liquid latex around your nail so all you have to do is pull it off. But they look beautiful

Yep - you could. It would help. But it’s literally up under my nail and super hard to get liquid latex under there and even harder to get the latex out from under there.

I love using this method. I wear longer nails than you show in this video so getting anything on my skin is a non-issue. I think the angle the nail is placed into the polish makes a huge difference. I absolutely LOVE this technique.

I love using good ol acrylic paint for most of my nail art too! Unlike gel, it’s water based and won’t harm your skin. I can create ombré effects so much easier with acrylic than when I try working with gel. I just love acrylic paint. I’m so glad you used it for this TikTok trend! 😁👍🤩

I love this idea! I’ve seen the stamper technique everywhere lately, but not using acrylic paint. I agree that cleaning up with acetone is not good for your skin and nails. This is brilliant!💕 I have seen that your nail can puncture the stamper though, so you might want to have a stamper dedicated to French nails.

Another issue to consider is that acrylic paint is not meant to touch skin and can cause chemical burns etc. especially if left on long enough to sit and dry. So, like anything, if you are prone to skin reactions acrylic paint isn't the way to go either. Just use liquid latex around the edges or if you're allergic use a thin layer of white school glue then peel off when dry.

@@MarlaKris Thanks! BTW. This pedi I had took her a total of 22min. And I had to have her come back and clean up the sloppy line of paint on my cuticle! Thankfully I’m using a gift certificate and I’ll never return here. That’s too bas because it’s FIVE minutes from my driveway to their door: and it’s a very pretty salon too.
This will not be a 20% tip.

I was so excited to try this. I have tried every other French method with no luck. My first hand was beautiful. I used gel polish and gel top coat. When working on my second hand, hand number one just peeled right off. I could remove all the white with my finger nail. So bummed out. Any suggestions with why I might have had an incompatibility with the gel products and the acrylic paint? I didn't think anything could get away from a gel topcoat since God knows we spend enough time trying to soak and grind the stuff off. Wonder if regular nail enamel would work better but it always chips so easily. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Nice job with the Acrylic paint! But the easier way is to get a stamping plate with French tips and stamp it on - MoYou has lots of different ones 😉

Yes it's a great way to get you're smile line, but you never caped the free edge so it would chip pretty quick.

Is it not bad for the stamper to press your nails into it like that?

    • @MarlaKris
      @MarlaKris  3 года назад +1

I didn’t find it harmed the stamper.. but I supposed it would depend on your nail shape and how much pressure you apply

Also, can you please share how did you clean the stamper after the polish? Because I know some products might damage it..

I love this look! I always get the French dip powder done but going to try this.
Are your nails naturally long or do you use any sort of tips? I love the shape and length of yours in this video. My nails are much shorter so I’m wondering if I could apply tips first? Any certain ones you recommend.
    Thank you!

Those are my natural nails with just a thin layer of gel over for protection. You could def apply tips first! I just tried this on my daughters nubbies tho and it worked! In black! So stinkin cute

This is so cool!! Question: can you use acrylic paint to stamp?

    • @MarlaKris

I’ve tried with stamping plates and it didn’t work well, sadly.
