I dont know what to put as a Description...at all. I got invited to the Minecraft Championship. I dont know how to play Minecraft competitively AT ALL. lets see how the tournament goes!

I find it hilarious how despite Chilled getting invited to so many Minecraft events and tournaments, he still absolutely refuses to play the game normally to... well, gain experience with it.
I think it’s because he doesn’t really enjoy the game on its own. I believe he said that he only plays Minecraft for the purpose of playing and interacting with friends, as well as getting to mess with people from time to time (like The Purge server).
Chilled has never had extended minecraft playthroughs. Even going back to the Pixelmator derp crew content, he has very little engagement. Maybe like 3-4 vids. It's not his style of content and beyond his friends he has 0 interest in the game.
And I respect it honestly, minecraft is so oversaturated between the people I follow and they streak upwards of 2 hour sessions multiple days a week. I cannot and refuse to keep up. These are nice one and done vids I can get through.

Then there’s ChilledChaos, in his very first event, gets his first win.

worth noting oli made it to dodgebolt in mcc 33 mcc 34 and mcc 35 and won a grand total of none of them

Unsarcastically, Chilled is very proficient in doing something that I'll never be able to. Join strangers' chat and just start talking. That's quite a talent, at least in my eyes.
Seriously. I'd die a thousand deaths to have a tenth of his charisma.
You can always do it anyway! You don't have to be the same you that you always expect yourself to be!

The Elaina and Chilled rivalry was the best part of this event.

To be fair, she doesn't win a lot in Minecraft, and her team wasn't even supposed to win MCC1. Up until 10 MCCs ago, she still wasn't supposed to win either. Her teams were fodder for the big guns, without getting the attention of last place. She was never benched because she was the bench. An anonymous filler team with leftover players that doesn't show up in highlight clips, only in the kill feed.
MCC is a clout fest, and her only Minecraft clout was winning MCC1.

MCC1 was a party hosted by Scott Smajor and IHasCupquake. It has a lot of their friends, as well as big OG RUclipsrs. Big names. And one of those RUclipsrs was AntVenom. Unfortunately, someone on his team had to drop out a few days before, so they looked for a replacement - and somehow, they found Kara. She was asked to find three friends last minute. And so, Kara, King Burren, Kratzy and Michael McChill entered the competition. Four minor members of SMPLive, who streamed to under a hundred viewers. Sometimes they made it to a hundred viewers - combined. They were nobodies, they were fills - and they won.
This isn't just Kara. It's been noted about Krinios, TapL, Kratzy, Ryguy, SB737. If you're not affiliated with a big SMP, you weren't likely to get on big teams. They were just there so everyone else could look good. Kara had the bad luck of being the bottom frag on the weak team, so she got mid to low thirties and was considered an F-Tier, a nerf, the Bench. If she was mentioned at all. The amount of hate she's gotten isn't normal. Then her frustrations boiled over and she finally said something about it and all of a sudden everyone pretended like they always liked her, and she got better teams.
I was genuinely impressed with Chilled’s battle box performance, and he played really well with the trident despite it being his first time using one. Considering Red Rabbits qualified by 131 points, Chilled’s performance absolutely mattered.
Chilled has won every MCC I've ever watched, so I'm not surprised he won this one
Time to watch how Chilled was carried- I mean, competed in MCC!

That was one of the most fun MCC streams I've watched and I've been watching since Season 1. Shout out to Twitch chat that day, all the believers made me smile
He might have been carried, but he did good.
Gotta admit, I saw the title and laughed because I never thought I'd see the day where Chilled willingly entered MCC. Pretty sure I, like most, was not expecting that ending. But that was really fun and Chilled did really well in some of the games. Hope Chilled does more MCC, that was awesome and I wanna see him get better and better.
As someone who isnt really into Minecraft, it's really fun to watch this. It's like seeing the game from an outsiders perspective and Chilled took it all woth good grace, despite him only ever really playing for the social aspect.
I can apreciate how much depth the game has and the amount of effort put into the tournament to get all the custom scoring and levels to work.
As someone involved in the MC event scene, I'm very glad that Chilled got invited to play and that he had fun with the event. The Noxcrew (who works on MCC) really knows how to put on a show with their events!
could you elaborate on being involved in the mc event scene? does that mean you work with mcc?
Nah, I'm a tester for other Minecraft events but I don't test for MCC (I wish lol). Testers provide feedback to see if gameplay is enjoyable and if there are any bugs. I know a good number of MCC testers, though I can't really get insider information since they're obligated (both informally and contractually for internal testers) to not leak. Even leaking something from 2 years ago in MCC testing can get you in trouble :P
There's sort of an MC event trio that everyone in the scene knows about: MCC, most well known and long-established; Blockwars (BW), recently got into the mainstream but they have a lot more variety creators; and Pandora's Box (PB), definitely the highest skill average out of the three so not as much content creators but it's widely regarded as the best in terms of game design, scoring and soundtrack.
I choose to believe that chilled talking with the other teams is the winning play for this tournament! (And also some amazing teammates)

As someone who has been watching MCC since MCC 1 I was so incredibly hyped to see Chilled announced for MCC, seeing two things I watch combine was so fun.
And watching the event live from your perspective was also great, trust me Chilled as someone who's watched a lot, in order for teams to do well it doesnt matter who their top players are but instead all about their lower placing players and trust me you played such a good support role. Seeing you kind of put yourself down after every game was unfortunate because you truly did do incredible for a first time, people's first time is almost always one of their worst.
I do hope to see you play again and hopefully be less stressed now that you've played once and already have won. (I know Elaina was stressed for her first time but soon learned to lean into the fun of MCC more) and I hope you are able to do that too, more for fun teams would definitely be great for you in the future! (If you do want to play again)
I honestly do get where Chilled is coming from, when he puts himself down like that. From his perspective it feels like he is utterly mismatched in his team.
During the event he continuously witnessed his teammates outperforming him by miles and their genuine humility just made it worse. For your team to try and praise (possibly exaggerate) your achievements, while you feel like you accomplished nothing in comparison, is incredibly painfull.
I agree that Chilled contributed plenty too his team given the circumstances, but this win feels, on a peronal level, greatly unearned.
This must go done in history of a less serious Minecrafter winning his first MCC and retiring right after!!!

Edit: Aww seeing him so discouraged at the beginning and saying he will let the team down is so sad... but he didn't! Everyone did so well! Also, it's so lucky that they basically played the hardest games for newbies (except sands) early!

It has! I don't think it was ever uploaded on RUclips but they've interacted before in other Minecraft servers.

Well, it's good for Chilled to admit his lows, but I still had a blast watching this event I've never seen before and I hope he ultimately enjoyed the experience enough to try again

I've been looking forward to seeing this, I feel like you're sorting of a Cryptid in MC you turn up socially on MC randomly and inconsistently but you are connected to so many MC content creators it's always interesting to see the dynamics
This is true. He doesn’t tend to enjoy the game on his own, but also enjoys the interaction he gets from the different servers he’s joined with them in it

I'm back again to rewatch the whole thing cus I skipped around somewhat. I would like more Oli and Chilled content I love the energy. Maybe Mario Kart, Oli is pretty good at it
I've gotta say, not counting Technoblade (nobody will ever beat the fun he had on this game), this was the most fun perspective of a MCC event I've ever seen. I did watch it though the Captain's eyes first, so I knew how it was going to end, but I'm so glad I watched this perspective as well.

I'm not sure why everyone who was explaining the rocket spleef elytra change was calling it durability. When its more similar to a stamina bar. I feel like if they called it stamina it wouldn't have surprised the people it did. It wasn't just chilled... anyway i digress because it was likely info overload more than anything and not some semantics of what to call it.
This was a great MCC perspective to watch! And despite never playing MC, you're not bad with a bow Chilled! Its all the fps games you've played.
Hopefully you, shub, elana and jojo can team up soon. That'll be nice to watch.

I like how Chilled likes to pretend that he's contributing nothing to the team since he's inexperienced at Minecraft. He still provides tons of laughs which cuts off the edge and he's still has a knack for reading what opponents might do in some situations and giving callouts.

As someone who has seen a lot of MCC , for someone who doesn't play Minecraft your miss plays were acceptable and super fun to watch, your smile while playing even before winning means you enjoy the whole event........... :)
I have only watched two MCC events so far and both were won by the team of the streamer I was watching, shoutout to Shubble for her win in the S3 finale and Chilled for his win in the S4 premire
I have watched every mcc for the past year or two and this was one of my favorites! Hopefully you get invited again because I’d love for you to be my main mcc player now that dream is gone! 💙💙
