The snipping blobs, though, were ridiculous and the reason it took me almost an hour to finish it because some times I'd time them great and their spit would be like homing missiles. Great review, really enjoyed the video. Only thing that I would recommend is getting a pop filter for your mic and or angle the pic so you are not talking directly into it, but more across it. As there are certain times when your "P" sounds are causing the mic to clip and cuts out the audio when you are talking. Other then that, everything else is great.
It's hardly repetitive dude the levels and power ups interact with eachother in fairly creative and fun ways and even if they don't give you tons of power ups to use for every level, the levels themselves are really well designed, and there isn't any "bad" or mid ones really they all felt fun to explore and play the gameplay is also super tight and full of personality not just that but alot of power ups alot give more moves than you'd think like the frog heads being punching arms but also giving your spin a super long reach. Like Sure COULD They have made the levels gave multiple power ups per level that have an Uber fuck load but that would likely make the levels more convoluted the way it is now is perfect as is, Your criticisms feel nitpicky at best and dont feel well found upon it reeks of "well Imma be a contrarian". as others have said the second you actually show the water level, the Hub world, the Mouse level as well as MORE and pretty much every boss but first your argument falls apart and looks stupid
This was the game we definitely needed the most out of all the slop releases Sony has pushed with realism bs. LittleBigPlanet Is another game they should reconsider on giving a second chance, Astrobot proved fans still want this type of genre.
I platinumed this already too. You're jumping critique was definitely you. That was happening to me also at the exact same place. Once i started running around the spikey guys, it never happened again. That extra fraction of a second on that collapsing floor counts as you falling. That last level took me like 100 tries. The "masterpiece" title is definitely a little hyped due to wanting to send a message. Short fun games without a political agenda are what the people want. Hope you're sickness didn't ruin your good time with the game

'The entire stage fell from under me' Nope! In the master challenge, you actually lingered too long without moving forward. User error. When you get propelled from the jump pad it knocks a large hole through the glass above. If you don't continue to move forward with your jets, you'll just fall back through the hole you made and it's game over. The game is correctly observing its own physics, it's not a bug. Just saying. 😊
I haven’t seen anything other than member berries that sets this apart from anything else, in fact it’s quite far behind any Mario platformer. If people would just say it’s a good game and not a “masterpiece” or “Sonys best game in years” I wouldn’t care but it’s less compelling as a platform game than SpongeBob.
You just contradicted yourself you say you are happy to have a 15 hour game and if you want a 100 hour game just replay it 10 times and then you go on to say this game has very little replay value😂. That’s exactly why people want a slightly longer game for their money.
I hope we get more of these AAA 3D platformers (Nintendo seems to be the only ones making them) but if we don’t I’m just happy that some former Japan Studio employees got to put out a real game after their closure.
@gamble777888 Yes it is. They could be released on the Sega Dreamcast and it would be a reason to buy a Dreamcast.... Doesn't matter that the Dreamcast came out 25 years ago.
He couldn't, cuz then his claims of the game being repetitive wouldn't make sense. If he showed the water level, the spooky level, the blocky level, the beach level, the mouse level, the garden level, the forest level, the challenge mini-levels, any of the bosses besides the first one, then his "it's too repetitive" claim would seem like absolute nonsense.
Well done video. I get what you're saying. Ratchet and Clank is a good example of where you learn a skill and then as you play that skill is modified in various puzzles. I think that game series did it very well. But I think you're missing the intent of the devs, and it's fine that it's not your cup of tea. They wanted to give players a wide variety of stages, powerups, and characters to experience. Short and sweet. Very quickly getting into the action. No filler content. I think it's refreshing and makes it more replayable. A game like Ratchet and Clank or Jak and Daxter...the "action" and the "fun" of each level isn't readily accessible to you. I think Sly Cooper is probably the closest to having something similar to this or possibly the older Donkey Kong games. For me, at this stage in my life, the game really hit home for me. I can totally understand your complaints. Probably in my younger years, I might have wanted something with a bit more meat, story, and maybe even harder. The game was very easy and the collectibles were easy to find as well. That's the biggest fault I find in the game, but I really didn't mind it. I don't even have time to beat a game these days, let alone find all the collectibles!
If you guys could leave a like on this to help with the algorithm. RUclips is probably gonna cuck it given it is a reupload.

Astro Bot (the character) looks like the good counterpart of that robot from the Reddit icon.
Yeah it’s in fun all but it’s certainly no masterpiece as Sony ponies make it out to be 😅
Yo Griff, get well soon and your money up!
Would buy a PS5 to play this
It's hardly repetitive dude the levels and power ups interact with eachother in fairly creative and fun ways and even if they don't give you tons of power ups to use for every level, the levels themselves are really well designed, and there isn't any "bad" or mid ones really they all felt fun to explore and play the gameplay is also super tight and full of personality not just that but alot of power ups alot give more moves than you'd think like the frog heads being punching arms but also giving your spin a super long reach.
Real one’s know this is a re-upload
This was the game we definitely needed the most out of all the slop releases Sony has pushed with realism bs.
LittleBigPlanet Is another game they should reconsider on giving a second chance, Astrobot proved fans still want this type of genre.
Sackboy A Big Adventure and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart came out a few years ago
@@ahmedmaklad6527I think the problem with sackboy a big adventure was that it did not have the og LBP formula, which is why it was pretty ignored.
Super Astrobot Galaxy Odysey
It's Groundhog Day....again
I'd never seen gameplay of this before, but now that I have, saying this game was inspired by Super Mario Galaxy would be an understatement. Does look fun though (apart from the bugs).
Bugs??
@@Dope_Bomb92 Like the one he mentioned with the platform disappearing.
@@Sky-Stridernever happened to me, but alright
@@Sky-Striderthat was meant to happen
about your power issue... have you ever played a hat in time?
I really hope this game does well! It would send a positive message for once that we want fun gameplay experiences over live service slop and interactive over the shoulder movies.
And maybe, just maybe if this does well, we could see a return of Sly, Jak and Dexter, Ape Escape, Gravity Rush... I know, I know I am coping but let me cope. 😂
I wonder how many fanboys are gonna get pissed off at the thumbnail I'm saying this as someone who actually does think this is a masterpiece 😂😂 deffo my GOTY
Ape Escape needs a comeback.
Seen you stream this. It looks like a lot of fun but I’ll wait for a sale. I’m slightly more interested in Space Marine 2. Great review.
If this comes to PC I'll give it a purchase, looks fun
This game unironically has the highest chance of being the GOTY out of all the games that were released this year until now
Masterpiece or not, it's the most fun I've had on a PS5.
Didn't they make this game because people liked the Astro tech demo? Yikes if this really is the best PS5 game
Sony been down bad with the movie games for the past decade
I was still holding out for a Toro Cat game.
making a game because people liked another game and wanted more of it yikes
Go play it and report back
@@SotNist because he thinks the original was a tech demo, and it was. You cant just reframe it like you did to the original one being a game, because its obvious where hes gonna disagree with you on, so just get to the point of your retort instead of a "gotcha" comment
Switch would be proud
Your review is spot on, I bought the game, let's hope Sony gets the message that we want and need more games like this
Comments are funny, can tell all the people who didn't watch the video. 🤣
Hopefully RUclips doesn't screw ya
Sony has proven they can do a VR2 version of Astro Bot, why not this one, or at least a purchase of it? I'd be in for that.
Astro Bot = SM2 =
What background music did he use? That shit is cold
i didnt like that some of the bots arent all video game characters
We won't mention master onion 😮
I haven’t seen anything other than member berries that sets this apart from anything else, in fact it’s quite far behind any Mario platformer. If people would just say it’s a good game and not a “masterpiece” or “Sonys best game in years” I wouldn’t care but it’s less compelling as a platform game than SpongeBob.
You just contradicted yourself you say you are happy to have a 15 hour game and if you want a 100 hour game just replay it 10 times and then you go on to say this game has very little replay value😂. That’s exactly why people want a slightly longer game for their money.
God of snore is so disrespectful 😭
I hope we get more of these AAA 3D platformers (Nintendo seems to be the only ones making them) but if we don’t I’m just happy that some former Japan Studio employees got to put out a real game after their closure.
The game is very very good! But I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece 😂
Stellar Blade and Astro Bot are THE reasons to buy a PS5.
That's not reason enough though, system was released 4 years ago.
@gamble777888 Yes it is.
They could be released on the Sega Dreamcast and it would be a reason to buy a Dreamcast....
Doesn't matter that the Dreamcast came out 25 years ago.
@@0thers1d3 What I mean is that having the privilage to spend around 650 USD to play two games is not worth it from a value perspective.
especially when both have a good chance of releasing on PC at some point.
You could show gameplay matching your description of the game pls
He couldn't, cuz then his claims of the game being repetitive wouldn't make sense. If he showed the water level, the spooky level, the blocky level, the beach level, the mouse level, the garden level, the forest level, the challenge mini-levels, any of the bosses besides the first one, then his "it's too repetitive" claim would seem like absolute nonsense.
@charliestoke1668 don't know but even if it was the best game of the world I wouldn't buy it if I can 100% complete it in 10h
@@malche8143 Depends on how much you rush. I’m taking my time, 11 hours in, still have plenty of content to go.
Great video! Hope you get well soon.
You should check out Mario Odyssey to it's the best 3D platformer Nintendo has ever made imo.
