Two facts about 20th century art. Picasso was the greatest artist of the century. Kirby was the greatest comics artist. Nuff said.
Given that art is subjective neither is a fact both are opinion.
THAT was the draw of the Marvel mystique. In your face fights......unbelievable gymnastics...the generic female form. DC was all flash and color...Lee and Kirby showed realism. Bad teeth..scared faces...bathtub vehicles...it was just too bizarre. I loved it! The King was just in the right era for his type of art. Kudos!!
