Great images Sam, as Ewan said your developing of the images is of a very high quality, I was there and never got any images of a quality like yours, it was a very special day for me just to be out there with you guy’s, you are a gentleman’s gentleman my friend, thank you for a wonderful day
Great to see you back Sam, and great images. I've just finished my big project so I must get on to editing my videos and shots from Skye, Assynt, and that day we met up in Glen Shiel!
Thank you very much Dave! 🙂 I was sorry you couldn't be here too that weekend, but then I don't think you were exactly missing out over there in Norway! That place looks just jaw dropping! S
Hi Sam and Hannah, Glad to see you out and about again. What a beautiful loch to photograph. You captured some really great image's. All the best, T & W.
Thank you Paul! It was really great to have Ewan over for a couple of days, I'm really looking forward to seeing his images from the trip too when they're ready! S
I thought Ewan was trying to take over your channel the number of times he went in shot crossing that burn :-) Good to see you post and all is well with your move. It was great to meet up with you and Ewan and spend some camera time it was very enjoyable, I'm regretting not continuing to Skye. A fine set of images considering the day, most of the footage just doesn't convey how dull and wet it was. The fleeting light was my highlight and that closer panorama of the trees works well. A shame we weren't fast enough to get the Herron in the tree! Now how many times will I rewatch this until Mr Panorama gets his published! 🤣
🤣 I wish he would take over my channel sometimes, it would be a lot better! 😁. Thank you so much for coming along Andrew, we really appreciated it (I didn't actually expect anyone to turn up!). That image of the light on the Beinn Eighe was my favourite of the day too. S
Thanks Tony! It was great having Ewan here, really enjoyed spending time with him and can't wait to see his images from the trip too. We actually upgraded a couple of years ago btw, I guess that shows how rubbish I've been at uploading videos! :) S
Wow Sam, what a great video on so many levels. It was great to see the update and I wish you both the very best on your new work paths. Your images were fabulous, thanks for sharing and I prefer quality over quantity any day. I didn't realise that you had a connection with Ewan. I am a big fan of his. With regards to the pubcast, it would be great if you could be part of any videos, but I realise this is a big commitment from all you guys. Very kind regards to you both - Robin
Thank you very much Robin! We met up with Ewan when we were over in New Zealand a few years ago, our paths crossed in the South Island and we only had the chance for a quick coffee, but we've kept in touch. He's been a massive inspiration for my photography, so it was great to spend a couple of days with him and actually do a bit of photography together as well this time. Stay tuned for more pubcast soon btw (not sure if I'm supposed to say that, but never mind!). I actually met up with Darren, Jamie and Stu in the Lake District last week, although we didn't film anything. We're due to start making episodes again soon though 😉 S
Really enjoyed this vlog and I stayed till the end for the life update. Please do follow your hearts and what works best for you both. RUclips can consume people either as creators or viewers and a break or a slower pace is sometimes the best tonic! I do thank you for the update but please feel no pressure to do follow ups. All the best. Oh by the way when you said summer, you only meant that week in June right!😉
Haha, actually I think I must have missed that week 🤣. Thank you very much for your comment Archie, and for your encouragement, I really appreciate it! I've never been too fussed about the 'algorithms' to be honest, but I do start to get a bit stressed sometimes when I haven't been posting for a while. It's been good to just stop worrying too much about it though, and it's also really nice to know we have such a great group of people who don't mind the odd gap in content! S
Great photos man, good to see you back, don't worry about the algorithm, if you keep putting out good work people will be looking out for the next video 👍 look forward to seeing Ewans too 😁
Thanks very much James! I normally go through phases of trying to be more consistent with videos and then not worrying about it too much, but it's nice just to take a step back now and again and just enjoy making videos when I feel like it and have the time! :)
Hi Sam: It is great to see and hear that you and Hannah are doing well. Karen has recovered fully from her surgery last fall, so we are starting to travel once again. The images that you have included in this video are simply amazing and it is really stirring my desire to get to Scotland. That being said, we are coming to Inverness/Invergordon, Edinburgh and the Shetlands next spring. I am excited to see more of your videos and images to come in the future. I am equally excited to see the video from Ewan as I really enjoy the messages that he conveys in each of his videos. Keep well and bye for now. . . Keith Pinn (Canada)
Hi Keith, really glad to hear that Karen is recovering well, and that you have organised another trip to Scotland for next year too. It was really good to have a proper catch up with Ewan, I'm looking forward to seeing his images from the trip! S.
Hey Sam - you are showing me up Sam, with a video produced in record time (for me at least anyway). Lovely to see this video pop up and i need to officially thank you for the mention, notwithstanding the awesome hospitality you and Hannah showed us when we were there. Whilst you saw me getting my feet wet - thanks for cutting out the bad swear words. LOL - Like Andrew said - i am out of practice as i am better than getting in peoples shots all the time like that Sorry. It was a bit like a BBC production on the day though with all that gear. Lovely pics Sam, and as ive said before - i simply love the treatment you give them and they look simply awesome! (I might have to relook at the ones I have started to process! LOL). Thanks again, and was wonderful to spend time with Hannah and yourself, Tom and Andrew! Speak soon. Ewan
Hey Ewan! Not at all, it was an absolute pleasure having you here and was really great to catch up. Already looking forward to the next visit! ;) It was really nice having Tom and Andrew join us too, I wasn't really expecting anyone to turn up, thank you for organising it! Really looking forward to seeing your images and video from the trip as well, however long it is before it's ready! S
Some great shots Of the Torredon area Sam. Can completely relate to your feelings regarding your vlogs and your photography. As a fellow landscape photography vlogger, I can relate to the time pressure connected to putting out a regular vlog. It takes so much effort and time and everything else in your life can suffer - photography, family, work etc.
Thanks Fergus! I definitely go through phases where I'll have a burst of activity and put a few videos together, then back off for a bit when other things get in the way. it's nice just to relieve the pressure sometimes and only put out content when the inspiration hits! Best not to worry about algorithms etc. and just get back to doing it for enjoyment :) S
Of course we want Hannah! I tried photography in the rain. 100-400 lens because it's got a good rain shield. Lumix G9 because that's what the lens is designed for. Turned out I couldn't see much through the rain. It wasn't heavy rainfall, but the subject was the other side of the bay, quite a few km away. Make videos for your audience, not the algorithm. Official YT advice. _I_ don't think they have to be frequent. Regular helps remind us you're still around. Good makes us subscribe hoping for another. _I_ would like a sprinkling of science. There's not a lot of RUclipsrs I know of who could do that, beyond the physics of light bending and I suspect most would get that wrong. A bit of geology, botany, geography, even evolution. Keep it simple, I know a lot of people would be put off, until you're good at it.
Well said John, thank you! It would be good to bring some more 'science' into the content. My speciality is physiology and pharmacology mind, so not sure how good I'd be at explaining physics! Perhaps I could bring a bit of biology in though, I know Simon Booth does a good job of that too. S
@@BosePhotography If you lived here, pharmacology would be a chance. The local plants provided food and medicine to the Noongars for tens of thousands of years. A lot of plants produce 1080 and other toxins, carrying the message "Don't eat me, I'm not good for you." Of course, a lot of native animals do eat them anyway. Physics and chemistry that I learned in high school sixty years ago would put you ahead of the crowd, and perhaps you know other photographers who could talk about it. A problem I have is that physics and chemistry have changed since I left school. Desalination. Technically not impossible, but enormously expensive. Fuel cells, the next big thing. In 1965 Scientific America had a DIY kit. They were going to be running tractors on the farms, cars and trucks on the road. They could run on hydrogen, hydrocarbon gasses. I'm not sure about hydrocarbon liquids, but what's a bit of heat? Look up Karl Kruszelnicki for inspiration, he's a GP. And a few other things.
I have to say, the photo at 8mins is just awesome in the truest meaning of the word. Top work.
Thank you very much Tristan, I really appreciate that! S

Its nice to see you back and as for your images they are stunning
Thank you very much Ken! S
Hi Sam and Hannah,
Glad to see you out and about again.
What a beautiful loch to photograph.
You captured some really great image's.
All the best,
T & W.
Thank you both! It felt really good actually to put another video out after so long, hopefully it won't be so long before the next one! S
Good to see you back and keeping well. I especially liked the mountain photo at 6:50 🙂
Thanks Russ! That's actually my favourite photo from the day too, I might need to get it printed! :)
Good to see you back mate . Great video plus one of my fave photographer's ewan making a appearance

It is good to see another video from you, hope to see more too. Also, it is great to know you are settled in and things are on the right track.
Thank you very much Arpad! I have a few that are awaiting editing, hopefully it won't be so long before I post the next one! S
@@BosePhotography That sounds great!
Hi Sam & Hannah, I do follow Ewan because i am from NZ too! I have missed you guys, nice to see you have upgraded your gear! thanks for sharing Tony

Good to see you back Sam, looks like you've got a lot done on your new home this year, and are settling in. All the best! 😊
Thanks Simon, it felt good to be editing a video again! The house is getting there slowly, but really been enjoying putting our mark on it! S
