Usually Sol Ring starts are offset with the focus on them, this time it was strong because Judith got removed with Path and Trophy, which ramped him even more. I do not intend to remove Sol Ring, but I could make it so it doesn't appear in opening hands.
After looking at the video you mentioned I had a look at all the video we made since April 1st. There were 52 games with 21 games having a Sol Ring turn 1-4. It won 7 and lost 14 (19 if you count multiple Sol Ring players), so even in the best case it only gave an 8% edge, not including the fact that most of the wins came from commanders that won other videos even without Sol Ring.
Judith is just another degenerate commander in my opinion. I'd rather just have fun and lose the game rather than sit there and just play kill spells after kill spells and not letting people have anything.
@@Zaalbarjedi As someone who didn't know how f-ing many spells red has that say ping all opponents creatures for 1 I will tell you take them out asap. seems like someone went too greedy with voja. all you need is tons of creatures. putting a ramp sorcery in a deck that can run and profit perfectly fine naya-producing elves also seems off. edit: went to check the decklist...throw all those ramp sorceries out lol. feed the pack, howling moon also not worth it imho. 1 mana mana dorks, 1 mana wolves, wolves with trample, some protection and interaction is all you need.
Well its easier to mana fix with the sorcery cards rather than the mana dorks. Most of them tap for green with a few exceptions in the 2 - 3 cmc slots. I just run both in mine

Oh look, the cool and unique Boros deck I clicked the video for didn't get to do anything, I was depressingly correct in my presumption, what a surprise (¬_¬) . Its a shame that RW decks need to be Winota/Anim Pakal levels of busted to remotely compete with other ostensibly less powerful commanders.
In my opinion they just dont really make any unique Boros commander, all usually tend to fall under the Equipment/Aura or tokens category, with a little bit of spellslinger (Feather, Firesong). I would like to see a Boros treasure or Exile commander, but that is usually for black commander i.e. Prosper.
@@TheEditingMage I think the inherent problem with Boros decks is their reliance on the combat step and/or that they normally require other cards and lots of jumping through hoops before they get to do their cool thing, whereas lots of other colour combos just get to do the thing Immediately or are more self-contained. This means that not only does Boros miss out on powerful draw and ramp effects, they're innately slower at accruing value and get set back more by opposing interaction. Essentially, and ironically, Boros decks are too slow to outpace and too vulnerable to outvalue their opponents, which is a shame, cuz commanders like Three-Dog and Kayla Bin-Kroog are at least trying to explore some new design space.
Not a great Voja list. Mana curve way too high, too many 3 drops which is the turn you want to be casting Voja. Not near enough protection or interaction. Too many wolves, too many do nothing enchantments. Not enough 1 drops At 4:40 Voja swings in on Sam with 3 wolves and 1 elf on board. Extra casts abrade in response. Voja and Pyreheart would have still gotten a +1 counter and he would have drawn 3 cards, it’s an attack trigger.. Extra missed the opportunity by not using abrade as Voja moved to combat.
@@TheEditingMage you are correct on this. I familiarized myself with the rule. Thanks for correcting me, saves me from making the same mistake should it come up😅 sorry for that
Maybe the list was made that way because voja is already a very strong commander to begin with. I mean I get what you're saying because my list does consist of all the 1 -2 drop dorks and the one 3 drop that fetches a forest untapped.
There were some small audio problems this time and hopefully I will be able to fix it by next week. Other than that, hope you enjoy the video.
The way you guys play your cards are so satisfying! Appreciate the work you put in those videos and the gameplay!!
There's a reason Judith is a KOS commander. One of my favorite decks to bring to a pod. Keeps everyone in check.
Feeling bad for the Frank Horrigan guy going against balls to the wall commanders like Vja and Judith
i love judith so much i try to put her in other decks that have red/black in them. She's so good.
Who would've thought that a player with 5 mana on t2 smashes the whole table and wins the game.
True, but it doesn't always happen
@@TheEditingMagewhat do you think of not putting Sol Ring in the decks shown in your videos?

Just discovered this channel and I love it man. Very clean, straightforward, and creative. Would have loved to see Tom's deck pop off a bit more lol
Yeah its hard to be a big creature deck vs Judith
I don't see why everyone sees Voja as a problem, it's Judith we have to worry about.
Judith is fine. Having 5 mana on t2 is not.

5:43 Cathar's Call should trigger on the end step of the turn it was played to create a 1/1
For some reason I thought it was on upkeep
I like how Judith was built. It was a spot removal on a stick.
Why does this feel like it’s one guy playing this whole game.
Your feeling would be quite close to the truth
Yeah pretty degenerate with that t1 ring. Rule 0 SR for more equal games 🖖

Voja's trigger check's the number of Elves / Wolves at resolution. So the ability was resolved correctly in the video.

Yeah I got confused because we only have the Devil tokens, but we did play the game as if they were Imps
