Hi Graham, regarding the stiff steering while manoervering, what you're doing is called 'dry' steering, meaning that you're turning the wheels while stationary, try and have the car rolling slowly while turning, this will help you and your steering components a lot. Also, before you complete your reverse manoeuver, start applying opposite lock just before you stop and likewise when you drive forward, sounds kinda counter intuitive but greatly reduces your turning circle, I hope i've explained that clearly enough for you. Great choice of car.
I learned that when the power steering went out in my s10. Made life much much easier. Took the pump out and didn't replace as it significantly increased corning capabilities as well as limit any type of bump steer. Kinda made me want all my cars without PS. Really felt connected to the road.

The description of thw rattles in the cabin and harshness of the ride made me chuckle. it's a spot on! when we hit a pothole in my lotus it makes me cringe because each time I think something must have been broken due to the loud noise, but as ever she can take it and keeps plodding on.

Aver812 It's just a ridiculous car to be driving in the snow and probably a real handful. It just gathers so much dirt, grime and general wear and tear during the winter months. Also a lot of salt from the roads. And I have an obsession with clean cars so I basically don't even drive it in the rain if I don't have to😂 And yes it's both heated and air conditioned. No heated seats though, too heavy😂👌

closing on my first Elise tomorrow and im nothing but excited. trading in my corvette that needed A LOT of work including an oil pump in the 18 months id owned it and its depreciated like heck, and i miss the miata days so i think this will do that. That's a really good question! Technically, you're supposed to run plates. But police in Los Angeles are so lenient about it, and it's so common for cars not to have license plates, that it's rarely ever enforced. In California when you get a new car, you have 6 months to put on your plate. Some people do it, some just leave it off. If it you get caught without plates after the 6-month period, it's a $25 ticket. So I'd rather risk a $25 ticket to run a fun fake plate on the car. Id say about 10% of the cars in LA don't have plates so it's easy to blend in :) Quick note - I haven't run plates on any of my cars for over 4 years now. I've received only one fix-it ticket for my license plate, and that was because I was pulled over for an alleged moving violation.
Wow, that's amazing and such a strange concept to me. Out here on the east (RI) plates are an absolute necessity. I've gotten pulled over for not having a front-plate, even.

I have a Lotus Exige S, and owned an Elise for a few years prior... I’ve driven everything from Lamborghinis to 1000hp Hellcats and the purest, most raw drivers car is still by far the Exige! 🏆🏎👌😎
My buddy's dad had a Lotus Elise that was a NICE car! You are right by far the most difficult car to get out of ever and I am not fat or that tall. We took it to a poker tournament and it got a lot of attention. My buddy's dad got rid of the car and got a Porsche GT3 which is also insane!

Yeah, they're BY FAR my favorite car brand. I'd eventually love an Evora400 once the prices come down to a more reasonable range.

What camera did you use to shoot when you were outside of the car and going hand held? I was thinking a GoPro but your audio was great quality as well even outside. *Insert thinking iOS emoji guy*
Hey thank you Doc! "I remember" is such a great song, it's been a favorite of mine for awhile. I used a GoPro Hero 3 with a wind guard so the quality was WAY better while I was outside!
