Necessary improvements in Harrier (personal opinion)
1. Need 18" diamond cut alloys
2. Need petrol varients
3. AMT much needed
4. Ventilated seats
5. Disc brakes on all 4 wheels (now only 2)
6. Panoramic sunroof would look much appealing
I really hope TaTa would bring these necessary changes soon 🤞🏻

Now Harrier is the king of its segment. It will rule on Indian roads.. Indian buyers will still take time to improve their choice of cars. They need to move ahead of average and features. Harrier is the best offering in its segment.

arjun rana yeah harrier is the best right now but The new xuv500 will launch next year and we know mahindra has improved a lot in quality fit and finish i just drove the xuv 300 it doesn’t feel like a mahindra.🤷🏻♂️ plus the alloys on harrier aren’t good and there isn’t a sun roof.

I own harrier now.. it has the best drive quality and the suspension of the harrier is the most suitable for the Indian roads ....so far soooooo good....wishing to see harrier sport in Ruby red..☺️

I feel stupid to compare legend compass with harrier. Compass belongs to a different class. Compass is way ahead of harrier. Compass competes with entry level luxury brand SUV's like Audi Q3 and BMW X1. Harrier is a decent car but can never match or compared to compass.

Fit & finish 3/5
Ideal for large families who require extra space & for tall people who need extra legroom. Low on maintenance
Jeep Compass :
Value for money : 2.5
Fit & finish : 4/5
Very well built , great performance , but lacks room . Ideal for moderately built people . It's a very good looking car but is bit overpriced
Harrier :

If you are not looking for a 7 seater then this is an extremely attractive option , it is well equipped , drives well , interiors quality is top notch ( looks like a German brand) . Can't believe it's TATA !
Agreed fully. Actually harrier and compass must be compared with xuv 300 which are all 5 sitters. And boy it comes out winner with value for money tag.

Have you even sat in any one of them. Jeep is much much better put together than Harrier. Harrier interior is rattly, the handbrake looks like it will break. The ICE on Harrier is crashing all the time and Tata themselves have offered 2 updates to Harrier which hasn't even been 4 months old.
If Jeep fit and finish is 4/5 then XUV fit and finish is 2.5/5 and Harrier is 2/5.

Mahindra has to improve the interiors of XUV 500 and in that case, I think XUV will be a better deal. It's a 7-seater, better features and cheaper than Compass.

Compass is crash tested with 5* for Indian version and harrier is yet to be tested.

Harrier is an absolute Beast.... Tata has entered this segment and immediately is giving others brands a run for their money.... Good to see Tata making such good cars...(Hexa, Tiago, Tigor, Nexon and now Harrier)
Its great to see TATA growing up so well....hope to see harrier with panaromic sunroof and amt soon....so far watching all the reviews by genuine reviewers...overall best is JEEP COMPASS....and next Harrier....even the brand JEEP speaks alot.
Compass anyday for its driving experience and quality for the premium! Harrier looks stunning from the side and behind. Didn't like the front looks as it's confusing to figure out which is fog lamp and which is headlamp. 😂

Tata has done a wonderful job & have ticked most of the boxes right. Its got good road presence & offers pretty much everything thus befitting the price Tata is asking for. But I feel they could have done better in some areas like reducing the engine vibrations, overall insulation could have been improved & instead of that funky handbrake, it could have been kept simple. It's not doubt a good product from Tata & they have come a long way but if these shortcomings are addressed then it would be the perfect SUV to buy 😊
Insulation is quite good and vibartions also dont filter through as for handbrake every car has some shortcomings just because its tata so it has to be perfect others lineancy right?thats not fair
Yes i agree but they said that production versions have less vibrations and a bit improved cabin insulation as compared to the test vehicles. I think they should have given the
Auto dimming rear view mirror in the harrier. It is a premium product what difference it would make with an auto dimming rear view mirror hardly 20k and they should have also given 18 inch alloys as an option atleast. The only two things i didn't like in the harrier otherwise i have driven the car and the ride was really good i was like ... Is this really a tata car... 🤘
When you saw harrier on road it looks like land rover on the backside and the front view was quit good enough stylish look....in that price they gave a better quality...

Thank you for unbiased comparison, Jeep is expensive but well built ,easy to drive minimum bodyroll ,less blind spot and most imp fun to drive .It's expensive because of its engine,four disc breaks , suspension ,electic parking break,5 star safty,it's a exported vehicle from India to Australia and Europe one can easily maneuver in the city and accelerate on highways.

Prize, interior, exterior, built quality (no one cannot complain it’s quality coz it’s made by ranger rover platform), only one name it’s TATA . Ty once again Tata for giving us this beast. But I have suggestion it should have at least 150 bhp nd automatic version too . Then no one can beat this beast ❤️❤️❤️ nd I don’t know whether Harrier have 4*4 or not , if not please provide 4*4 too . Thanks from TATA fan 😊nd please tell the dealers to treat the customers n well manner ( includes sales , marketing, services etc ) its a humble request.
I really need to see Harrier in person.For now I'm just too sold on the Compass's design.
XUV 500 is the most value for money car among all three when you compare all features offered. The other two dont even offer Automatic transmission. So that is huge drawback in today's market. Both don't even have sun roof, which is like a basic feature nowadays.
Harrier is surely the winner. But wait for 2020 pininfarina designed xuv500 with 180bhp😎😎. I remember the craze of xuv500 when it launched back in 2011. This will repeat in 2020 and mahindra will rule this segment again. In terms of sales scorpio is already the winner.
It will just be a re-badged Ssangyong Korando like the Alturas and 300.

But it will have intense competition from its new partner, the Ford Endura which might be its name, an SUV Ford is developing with XUV platform, with a 1.5l Ecoblue diesel engine with 120 Bhp and 300 NM torque, and 6 speed Manual and with 5 seat configuration as opposed to 7 seat, so less bulky more compact lighter and more efficient and will be available in Mahindra showroom as well because of Ford Mahindra joint venture. So yes new XUV will be great but the success will be shared.
Tata wont sit quiet either let me tell you new safari is already in development and tata is also working on blackbird suv as well creta rival so dont underestimate and dont overestimate pininfarina since kuv 100 was designed by them only and we know what it looks like

Harrier & XUV look better when on road than on camera. Harrier looks so good and visually appears to be of the size of Fortuner.

Jeep Compass is the worst car of the entire Jeep lineup. Its abhorred by drivers in the US, not sure why people buy it here. XUV is better and Harrier may be the best

Tata Hexa can easily beat xuv search on youtube you will know... Xuv 500 has weak metal plates and way less torque it is scared of going offroad
Still XUV has best road presence and it's best among all 3 in terms of looks and features and Sales of this segment tells the same story...

Guys next generation Mahindra Scorpio and xuv500 are launching next year or so. But absolutely love the present xuv500 and Tata harrier. Good to see Indian brands conquer the foreign brands.

Dude why doesn't TATA sell their cars in other markets especially Middle east. Their cars will be really loved here i promise. The Harrier is unbelievably good. I believe they only sell their trucks in UAE cuz I've seen a lot of them..... But cars will be much better. They might even sell better than the American cars sold here...

Compass has its shortcomings too. So many faulty things and Clutch plate problems are real.
XUV 5OO is the best yet the sales are so less compared to other SUVs which is shocking also its not included in many reviews where it deserves to be

Harrier is a lil overhyped, not denying that is one heck of a looker, but Jeep compass is the true SUV, Not over killed in term of design and good performance as well..
True....harrier is not at all good to drive....feels top heavy...bits like gear lever and steering(which you touch always) are so bad in quality and are flimsy which takes away the rest of the experience....best for chauffer driven....cant compare it with compass's quality and make....

Jeep Compass way ahead then other cars. I did test drive harrier interiors are mind blowing but it lags when we are in mid range but compared to Compass its stunning and drivibility is just awesome specially 4x4

Hector can't be compared with Harrier, it is premium SUV which can be compared with Tiguan, Tucson, Compass

7 seater option and automatic are a must to increase Harrier's sales.
Otherwise people in this category prefer 7 seater XUV over 5 seater Compass or Harrier.
Xuv 500 has to upgrade its interiors amd mainly the speedometer. If xuv 500 has alturas speedometer it will be cool
