I had an absolute blast doing Rayquaza raids and shiny hunting this go fest. While I couldn’t do one of the live go fest events, I did global at a very popular place and it felt great.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! :) I played all weekend, all hours and with a purchased pass, I only got 7 shiny... pretty disappointing in this aspect, but I enjoyed being with my friends, and I was able to do several Raykuaza raids.
I was very disappointed. I know shiny aren't guaranteed but to only get 1 over 2 days after buying the ticket is frustrating
I’m sorry to the two of you for the lack of shinys but in all honesty you make me feel better. I was the same, play all day etc…got 5 shinys Saturday and 7 on Sunday. I’ve racked my brain for years trying to figure this out. How the influencers get an insane amount of shinys, I don’t know. I play pretty hard too. I did mouth off to Niantic once so I’m thinking my account might have been de-throttled but who knows. I wish I could get an answer about this. I just rarely catch shinys in general and I play every single day of my life. It’s frustrating and at times doesn’t make the game fun when everyone else around you and on RUclips just obliterates you in shiny catches.

Honestly, this GO fest felt the most refined in a while. Both in person and global actually had good shiny rates, no major bugs for a very good portion of the 5 days (minus Verizon customers on Saturday afternoon park), and actually pretty straight-forward Global days without 20+ tasks you had to accomplish. It was simply catch all the pokemon that spawn once on day 1, then raid at least once on day 2 which focused on raiding (and even then, it wasn't a timed research).
For me personally I don't mind a lot of quests, tasks, research, etc. but it also felt nice for once in an event meant for catching, to allow you to focus solely on catching.
I was one of those unlucky Verizon people on Saturday smh still had a blast though lol

Can I just say that this years go fest was absolutely incredible, the best one we’ve ever had, the shiny rates were amazing, no issues at all, niantic well done 👏.
The *only* issue I had was that the day 1 field research tasks had onix as a reward for the same tasks as Carbink. As someone trying to hoard as many Carbink XL as I can, that was a little annoying 😂
The only problem I had was the second day. I was trying to do Rayquaza raids and most of the Jim's had 1* raids
Agreed. Mostly. I had a couple of glitches day 1 but not enough to spoil the day. Although out with family both days I had bought the Global ticket and used an auto catcher and managed two Rayquaza with Dragon Ascent and enough energy to mega evolve the hundo 👍
I must’ve had horrible shiny luck but I’m in Brisbane Australia the second Timezone to start global so maybe the rates where broken.
Day 2 I got shiny snorlax then game froze when I was catching didn’t get it
I had a blast playing with people. Good for all your shinies but I know a lot of people including myself that didn't really get any. I think it's time to push back on the "improved shiny rate". We need more transparency on what that shiny rate really is. Especially for paid tickets, they need to post rates. I don't know why our community ignores this shady practice.
Honestly sounds like a good idea I barely got any shinies even with the ticket we definitely need to know how much “improved” the rates are
I got 3 and I played the entire time both days
I didn’t buy the ticket for the special research, but I got a 14/14/14 shiny rayquaza (shiny rayqauza was my first and most favorite shiny in the main series) which is more than I could ask for. I also got my first Heracross which is nice since I don’t ever plan on going to South America (not that I have a problem with South America, I just hate the heat)

I bought tickets to NY Go Fest but was offered a job and decided to accept it. That new job had me working this weekend, but I bought a global ticket and enjoyed the last two hours, today. Only really wanted Snorlax and Goomy. I got the Snorlax and 3 different crowned pikachu. 8 shinys total, the others aren’t worth mentioning lol

There's only 3 shinies I wanted from this. Heracross, Snorlax and Goomy.
Didn't get the first two at all, did about 25-30 Goomy raids, got ONE shiny and it has almost the worst IVs possible. Played all hours of both days with incense.
Not Nick finding one of my favorite shinies barely a minute into the video AND get an amazing shiny Goomy 🥺 Congrats, man!
Did they lower shiny rates for people without a ticket, 4 hours with incenses and not a single shiny for me 😭😭
@@19inchesofvenom69 Yea increased shiny odds was only for ticket holders so without a ticket you'd have the normal, any day shiny rate (which I think is 1/500 or something?)
I love these type of games/bets during com day or big events. It makes it that much more fun. I got 35 shinys on day 1 beating out my group with the best shinys as well.
I got one Shiny over the two days, but I didn't have a ticket, so it's something :)
Day two got me enough for Mega-Rayquaza, and that's what mattered to me ^^

first year I've gone without gofest, would've been one I'd have enjoyed but I really can't be bothered with the game as much anymore. RIP.

But yeah, it's known that if people take a break from the game and don't play at all for a while that when they start up playing again, they usually always catch a shiny within the first day because the developers know that's the way to get players excited and to incentivise them to play more and hook them back in. Odds would've been much high during go fest too, but probably too late now for the go fest rates...worth a try clicking only on pokemon you'd like shinies of whenever you do decide to come back
Day two hasn't long finished for me. Spent 7 hours doing it yesterday, and 4 hours doing it today. I total, got 36. Lots of duplicates. Nothing I REALLY wanted. But counting them all as a win and I had fun 😊

@@AppleBlogTV No, I didn't have a ticket. But I do get quite lucky with them generally, which is why I opted for without a ticket. Last weekend I played for about an hour and got 5 of them.

I did the shiny change too! Found an alolan diglet, didn't want it, let it change into a Bellsprout (not the best, but better IVs than my previous two)
83 shinies between go fest nyc and global!! Had to walk around manhattan and drive around my neighborhood for hours like a madman though 😂😂
I bought the pass, but sadly didn’t experience the level of shinies as most people seemed to get. 5 Sat, 5 Sun. I fast catch and click everything. Niantics RNG just has never been good to my account. But had fun playing for the most part. Frustrating but fun

Go Fest is SO BROKEN. The game has been crashing on me ALL DAY during raids when it goes to the white screen, and I get kicked out of the raid and by the time I restart, the raid is over, all my Pokemon are fainted, and I get nothing to show for it. I am PISSED.

All my friends quit. but go fest this year was good for playing with a lot of random people. A bunch of players from a bout an hour out all came to park near where I work.

Challenge idea - most shinies win, but you can't catch any yourself and other people can only catch one for you
This years go fest was about the same for shiny rates for me, a total of 10. Not too exciting and that was with a paid ticket. I was hoping for that shiny Rayquaza and Snorlax with hat but they eluded me even with the ton of raids I did. Good overall though! 😊
Stopped playing for a long time first go fest sense 2019 29 shiny my go plus plus failed a oranguru and a stunfisk but can't be too upset great video as always dude

I have zero real like Pokémon Go friends so Go Fest was ok for me but day two kinda sucked because I couldn’t complete special research 3 since I never could find anyone willing to fight in a mega raid with me.

I've tried so hard to get a shiny bagon, I even have a hondo. That hurt see you encounter two and let them go one way or another. Someday. it'll be mine....

WOOOHOOOO FINALLY! You got all your missing luck in one event🤣
All Im gonna say is this was my worst Go Fest ever even though I got a lot of shinies in number. I got 6 shinies I did need, but the thing is I went into this event needing 15, so I guess it just feels worse than it is, especially in comparison to Go Fest 2020, 2021, 2022, and Johto Tour especially. The shiny rates on old shinies felt boosted to high heaven, meanwhile anything from 2022 onward was non existent. I checked afterward... I saw 130 Joltik and didn't get a SINGLE shiny, how does that happen? I was going hard for that one. Oranguru? Forget about it. West Sea Shellos? BARELY spawned the entire time in comparison to everything else. The incense? Hot garbage. I'd say I was seeing 1 in every 12 incense encounters that could even BE shiny, all I was seeing was Carnivine, then Hissuain Growlithe (Shouldnt have been in the pool at all), then Pachirisu, then pachirisu, then pachirisu, then carnivine, then Unown, and over and over again. Plus, once again, Unown was definitely full odds... Scummy for a shiny that needs 26/27 different forms to complete it's family.
I do NOT intend to be toxic about this. I just feel that considering the 80+ km walked, the 16 hours spent, the money down the drain, and the sun burns, you should be getting a lot of high quality stuff. Not saying you should get *everything* you want, but you should get a good 65-70% if you played that hard. Additional feedback: EXTEND the community day moves past the hours!!! My friend got a hundo gible today through trading, because to put it simply: after 9+ hours away from home, nobody wants to trade. They want to rest!!! Extend the half dust to like tuesday, let new players get the moves until tuesday, maybe even increase the number of trades we can do to 150 a day! This is bare minimum requests, it doesn't even take THAT much effort to make this happen and they have done it before. Why is everything always on "Niantic O'clock?" I don't feel like these additional complaints are toxic, they are logical. SO many new players got into this game this summer, and so many people had their first big event with the go fest. They want to bring in new players, this would be how you get them to keep playing. Just my two cents, I know people will vehemently disagree with my takes, Im used to it so go ahead.
I really thought I was the only one who catches all their shinies in pokeballs, every single one excluding the raised mons are all in og pokeballs
1st day 23 shiny 3 Pikachu 2 pyrite 1 quartz, 2 Clefairy, Lickitung, horsea, wobbuffet, 3 heracross 2 female 1 male, 2 skitty, bunneary, 2 snover, audino, tympole, 1st shiny pawnyard 17cp, binacle, 1st shiny goomy 3rd check from wild no raids, 1st shiny fomantis, oranguru from special research for Diancie and I got it during quartz biome hour 1st shiny check for it plus I got my 1st shiny heracross from incense and it was 1st check.
One minute thirteen seconds in I had to stop the video, I encountered 82 heracross' at go fest global no shiny :( I also live in SOFL and encounter it daily. That was one of the ones I wanted most and didn't get.
I enjoyed go fest, 30 shinies for me combined days, still without shiny Groudon unfortunately. I liked the bingo and the challenge in the video

I was amazed by how many shiny pikachu I got, about 11. In total I got 64 shiny!

Didn’t buy the pass since it wasn’t worth it for me tbh. I decided to buy $20 of coins and buy the 3pack remote raid box on the web store instead - got incubators and in person passs as well. Much better deal given the legendaries that were available imo
I'm happy that Nick got so many shinies. But I swear Niantic secretly increases RUclipsr shiny rates to get us to play more. I did not get that many shinies yesterday and I paid the $15.

I purchased the ticket for the Global event and I found 14 shinies for this Go Fest. There were a lot of Pawniard and Hisuian Growlithe spawning with incense no matter the hour (at least for me) which was the only disappointing part of this year’s event…I was hoping that the spawns would rotate much more then they did via each hour.
I have good time with my first go fest and it was really fun and playing with friends and meeting new people and etc
