It’s not that difficult to feel sympathy for any fictional character. Players just don’t feel sympathy for the Grineer because they’re faceless, sometimes metaphorically, sometimes literally when the masks they wear are involved. Players slaughter legions of them quickly, then move on without giving it a second thought. Khal is only liked because he’s the only Grineer, other than possibly Clem that has been humanized, who’s been given more attention, and not just killed off instantly. The Grineer are basically an extreme version of both BotW and TotK-era Zelda in my eyes. I legit don’t really care about Zelda as a character in those two games because the player hardly interacts with her in any meaningful capacity. Every time she’s on-screen is through an animated memory, so players can’t really interact with her. Should the story writers take the time to slow down and have the player engage in direct interactions with a character, it’s not too difficult to forge feelings for the character.
@@princesscadance197thats why its so sad, majority of players have spent years killing thousands of them and then when you read the lore about they were basically children and adult bodies, not even understanding anything but what they were made to do until they became aware that they were slaves by the orokin, then in this quest we finally get to see how it must be for them first hand and it really does a great job humanizing them and giving them identity
I've killed thousands of Grineer and Corpus people without any minor thoughts before. But...After "The New War" - minor thoughts have become multiple, and each moment when I HAVE TO kill these guys - I'm feeling myself like taking a sin that will never be cleaned...
This is one of the best moments in Warframe for me. The Murex looming over one of the last bastions of humanity, the Condrix and Sentient ships flying through the skyline wiping out any resistance…I wish we could’ve had a full-map scale battle with Tenno like this. Alas, we got only Kahl’s part.
Me during this segment: ‘This is why I don’t play those realistic military shooters. Too much running and diving for cover.’ Kahl: *Picks up Corinth Prime* Me who mains the Corinth Prime: ‘I know what to do here…’
Honestly, it was a good segment. It does a good job trying to emphasise just how *fucked* the footsoldiers on the front lines are. And then the moment you get that shotgun, the tide turns. Just for a moment, Kahl gets to RAMPAGE.
"For.. my brothers..." I literally shed a tear that moment, we're talking about soldiers only cloned for combat, yet Kahl...
