This is so saddening knowing his father passed in December. Ive listened to it 3 times just now. I'm glad Keaton has lots of video footage with him and his father. So sweet. Thank you for sharing with us all heart

I wish I had video footage of my father with me. Still photos seem like moments lost in time, like tears in the rain.

This hurts so much. The absence of people, the empty places, the sun shining on empty silent air. Putting all your faith in a prayer, and not knowing what will come next. The loneliness of always being inside your head, trying to find something that will never exist. It just hurts.
I hope you are doing okay and I am sure in the future you will find people that will stay and will make you happy.

Are you living the same life as I am too? Lol. I suffer from anxiety and depression and the start of last week my best friend had to cut ties with me because he wanted me as a partner and I wanted him as the friend he's always been, I'm cut up about it but I'm not at the same time because I'm used to people walking away because they don't know how to handle me when I get in depressive states, but he always did.

I love how Keaton left all those little imperfections from the recording in the song. That's what makes it truly come alive.

I'm not a native speaker and a friend of mine pointed out to me what are the words at the end. It's heartbreaking.
I am very crying. I'm very afraid to lose my parents.
I believe he lost his father two days after finishing recording this to-be-released album. My heart goes out to him. Words are insufficient for explaining what it is like to love someone so much and to lose them, but this song comes close.
My end of my parent’s time on this earth is on the horizon and I know that it’s nearer than I wish. I really love them a lot, I will go give them a hug and tell them.
I think if others that have left and the impact that they have had on my life and the void remaining after their passing... Every person is special, yes you, reading this, you’re special. You have your own way of doing things, thinking, and loving; you’ve touched more people’s lives than you can ever know.
When I was 12, my grandfather ended his own life. His suicide is still something that I struggle with. I know he was in lots of pain and I have compassion toward his suffering and I am no longer angry. But it did hurt, it still does. I remember my grandmother wailing when me, my brother, and my parents met her in the doorway of the house that they had long lived in. I remember her asking “why would he do this to me?” Of course that wasn’t his intention. It’s such a painful memory. She hurt, because she loved him greatly. The people we love, they become part of us, Keaton touches on that in Prayer. It hurts so much that we sometimes wish we wouldn’t feel it anymore “oh God, don’t make me feel...”.
I’m in awe at Keaton’s ability to emote so much through his music and thankful for his influence in my own life.
Keaton, your dad was a beautiful person, and I’m sorry that he’s gone now. I pray for healing for you. These wounds are the kind that will never fully heal, because as you know, he was a part of you, and now that piece is gone. But thank you for being open about your grief through this song and this video.
It’s impossible to not feel what you feel, cried over the beauty of this song! For someone who feels alone, you connect with my heart so effortlessly. I think that’s how everyone who hears you feels.

I don't understand how people survive without their parents. It's literally one of my biggest fears. Often at night I find myself thinking "what will I do when my parents die?"... it just feels like I wouldn't know how to do anything without feeling sad and lost.

Dear Keaton, i lost my father in 2016. My relationship with him was complicated, as i loved and respected him, but i also feared him and dreaded his anger. Listening to this piece of music has given me some solace about the memory of his passing. Please know that i thank you for sharing your unique and honest art with us and for helping make the pain of this world a little more bearable.

Is this what it's like to lose a loving parent? I'm not good with emotions but this is as close as I have been to understand- the pain and sorrow but also the bitter sweet memories. There was a wave of emotion after 4:10, the lyrics are beautiful but something about the rise of the string instruments and laughter hit me.
