- United States Air Force brass have long sought to replace the beloved A-10 Thunderbolt II. However, they’ve faced significant pushback from Congress, as well as from combat veterans who’ve seen firsthand just how valuable the bird is.
The A-10 is near and dear to the hearts of many Global War on Terror ground pounders for its efficiency at turning bad guys into lasagna while simultaneously causing confusing yet understandable erections with every BRRRRT of its 30mm Gatling gun.

Air Force "officials" are neither braindead or idiots -trying to retire A-10 and telling that "its vulnerable " - not your decision to make -solders and pilots does. Its proved that this craft is efficient - you never destroy things that working fine!

Well based on current events, I don’t think we need to worry about Russia. The A-10 is by far the most important aircraft the Air Force has in my opinion for close ground support. Much more effective than the F-4’s were in Vietnam when it comes to accuracy.

The fact that congress doesn’t see how effective the A10 would be against an aggressor like Russia shows how inept they are. Seriously, the Ukrainians are defeating Russia with tractors.
Perhaps you didn't pay much attention to what was said. It was Congress that saved it, It was the top brass in the Air Force that wanted to scrap it. About the only good thing Congress has done and it's mainly cause we the People made our voices known about it.
....it proved its amazing against Russian/Chinese armor in the Gulf Wars....and they want to get rid of it because they dont think it can perform against Russia and China..after already pretty much going against their equipment...

Air Force Officials? LoLoLoL I hope they've been watching the war in Ukraine. One A-10 would have decimated the long Russian armored column and support vehicles that couldn't move early in the war because of the constant harassment by Ukrainian ground forces. I am one of many soldiers who gratefully watched Taliban targets get vaporized by the (BRRRRT) in the mountains of Afghanistan. So LoL, no it wouldn't be effective against forces like Russia or China. WTF Air Force Officials? LoLoLoL Maybe they will learn something from watching the lessons being taught by Ukraine in this war of aggression by Russia, just maybe.
