What an incredible woman. She clearly has a deep understanding of the complexities of her job and in the case of hoarding that is vital. She doesn’t come across as blind to the depths of psychological distress cleanup can have and that is crucial.
If only there were more people like you in the world, with genuine compassion. What a world it would be. Well done people are deep, for shining a light on such an important subject 👏
This lady is in the same county as me and I’ve followed her for a while online- I admire her so much. Having worked with many of the types of clients she will go and help, it makes such a monumental difference, and really does change lives.
@@mufc184 Do you feel better now? I’m sorry your life is so devoid of purpose that you have nothing better to do than be rude to strangers for no reason. No one asked anyone to care about it. Unlike you who is clearly begging for attention. Sad, go find some friends. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Me and my dad cleaned up my brothers flat after he died from a heart condition, as he’d hit his head when he collapsed there was a lot of blood on the floor. The smell of dried blood is really metallic and I’ll never forget it.
So sorry for your loss. I’m also sorry that you and your dad had to clean up while enduring such a tragic loss. I know your brother is so grateful, and I hope that you are doing okay.
I live in an apartment my neighbor downstairs died he was very intoxicated and he had an accident cut himself and he went to his bathroom to try to clean himself but I guess it was really bad so he ran back to get help i supposed .he slipped and fell hitting his head . His daughter found him the next day it was awful 😢 I still remember the smell of blood.
Blood is so hard to remove from carpet. I got mauled by a pit as a young teen and squirted blood ALL over light grey carpet. It took hours to scrub out. I also grew up with a mom who was a hoarder, and it was so bad they eventually demolished the house. Props to anyone who can do it! I'd get too sad, even if I didn't know the person.
OmGoodness, you must have scars. Hoarding is a mental disease. I hope you are making sure you don't become a hoarder. My mom & siblings are hoaders.. I'm constantly throwing things out that has thick dust [true tell item is not needed]. Good luck & thanks for sharing.
Allison girl you killed it. I feel the same way about Maynard. We are all blessed to be Alive and Breathing! He is such a gift to us all. His humility is always refreshing. ❤
Interesting but probably quite disturbing job at times. I've worked as a cleaner in schools and when I was much younger as a care assistant so have had to deal with all sorts of bodily fluids. Used to put Vicks under our nose if we were dealing with unpleasant smells back in the 80's. One of my grans was a bit of a horder. I think it was due to the rationing after the war but she definitely got much worse after my grandad died. She would keep magazines, newspapers and tinned food, food packaging and mints. We used to try to clear stuff sneekily when we visited her. When she went into a home we had to clear it all out for the council to re let it but the family all cleared it. We should have got professional cleaners in really. It was quite sad discovering just how bad things had got.
Wow victoria this was genuinely such a great watch!! You look great came across amazingly and were so interesting!! Almost made me want to give it ago until i heard about the rodents and spiders 😂😂
I’ve worked in crime/trauma cleanup and I can guarantee you this woman is rare. No one I met in the industry cared at all and everyone got paid less than working for McDonalds. The company I worked for hired horrible employees and management never cared to hold them accountable. They would leave bio bags open in the shop, sometimes all over the floor when they would unload the trucks before the bags would be picked up. So many biohazards. If they didn’t have enough cleaners and a new job came in, they would have office staff who had never even done a clean up or gone through training to do the job. One woman was sent who worked at the office and didn’t even know what PPE to wear. It was a bathroom cleanup in a Walgreens with used needles where someone OD’d and she cleaned everything up in her office clothes and didn’t even have gloves. I had to leave.
It depends on the biohazard. Technically if you sneeze into a tissue it's a biohazard. Make sure your bins are lined with a bag, if the bag splits then double bag etc... At work we have yellow "hazard" bags for cleaning up and kind of sick which is then goes straight into the outside bin. At home I just make very good use of detol and rubber gloves that I dispose of! And having a sharps box is good if you think you'll have any sharps waste, such as sewing needles, razor blades... The NHS provides sharps boxes to people who need to take injection medication such as people with diabetes. Check what your local recycling centre takes as well, because you probably need to take things like chemical waste and sharp objects directly to them rather than bin them. White spirit for example can't go down the sink or in the bin so people participating in oil based painting often keep the used stuff to take to the recycling centre.

I did this clean up 7 weeks after my brothers unattended death. I am glad I did. Yes it was trauma and yes it broke me. However it was also healing .
Omg I follow this lady on tiktok! She’s incredibly compassionate and great at her job.

Meanwhile big criminal organisations have better access to a crime scene clean up crew and they are paid better than working for the “good” guys.
Your work is needed. It seems to me it would be heartbreaking to do this work. Your stronger than I. Blessings Be. To all.
How does someone dispose of biohazard safely without a company coming in to do it.
