Prices are way to high for this truck, skipping it and going with a Nissan Pro 4x Frontier.
Can’t go wrong with the new Frontiers. Way better truck than any new Tacoma
Period.
It's serviceable, either by unbolting the transmission pan to dump the fluid, reinstalling the pan and then filling it by removing a fill bolt and pumping in new fluid, or pumping out the old fluid using a thin hose and refilling with new fluid, or removing a transmission line to the cooler and using the return line to fill it.
It somehow gets filled at the factory and Nissan isn't welding the fill location shut.
Nissan looks like poop and sucks
@SHADOWBLACKs650 that's a real BS comment.. do you even know what the jatco 9sd looks like ?
You pay for the reliability I’d rather pay a higher payment than constantly be fixing things on it
I don't believe the Japanese would betray their loyal customers this way. It had to have been cooked up by American grifter executives.
You are a ignorant 🤡
Yes because Toyota never cheats? lol cmon man.
Buy hyundai or kia instead.
Greed doesn't discriminate.
@@user-to6mh8hh5e he wants a reliable car not one that my 4 year old can steal
Im hearing the Nissan Frontier is the new Tacoma…….with the N/A v6 ??
The Frontier is nice. My personal favorite in the segment.
i have 22 nissan frontier. NA V6 is so much better
Absolutely 👍. V6 and a ZF automatic
I heard the Cyber Truck was the go to now 🤔😎
The frontier is way better. NA V6 that makes MORE power. New taco sucks
0:31 Blue Crush is a very cool name for a color and looks awesome! Almost looks like Lightning Blue on the 2015-2018 S550 Mustangs, to me at least
I'm totally loving that blue.
Best channel on RUclips. Thank you for another great review !
I got the regular I Force and I absolutely am in love with it. Underground color which is like a dark grey it makes plenty of power and 0 lag. My favorite part though is the rearview mirror that becomes a camera
I get 22-25 mpg in my V6 ‘20 TRD PRO, so to spend waaaay too much for a 4 turbo is a hard no.
New taco is a massive disappointment. I was hyped for the hybrid until I saw it costs 15k more and you gained only ONE extra mpg! wtf were they thinking?! 😡
Toyota Tundra Hybrid Platinum mpg 20 in the city and 24 on the highway.👍
Yet i can't get 20 in mine🤣
This is such cap. You are not doing 30mph everywhere you go
@@angelgjr1999where are you getting 15k? Would love to see the math on that
Love the color love the look … hate the platform … Toyota fan/owner and if I was going new I’d go frontier 100%
You are the reviewer that made me tune into design language. I never heard the term until Raitis Rides🏆
Purrdy Blue truck. I do believe the Nissan Frontier is king of the Segment. This is Number 3 behind the Ranger and Nissan. Just my personal preference and opinion. All good Twinkie haulers none the less. ☮️👍
Nissan king🤣🤣🤣🤣 wtf are you smoking🤣🤣🤣 it's last always last
@@atg1338 Nissan might not be GOAT but the Frontier certainly is appealing with it's current powertrain and build compared to the others. Just my opinion. All of the brands mentioned are good options just depends on what you are looking for. ✌️
@@rickjames6867 I'd agree with that...
@@atg1338 That Nissan 3.8 V6 is tried and true. And you can get a loaded Pro-4x for $40K with the current rebates.
How did you get a 2025? Still waiting for the 2024's to hit dealers here in Canada.
Love it. Thanks Joe.
Joe and Lori, you are legends. This truck however, not a legend.
it used to be... they made this new truck and insulted the Tacoma name by putting it on there.
I did not even know that the iforce max was available on the trd sport
is there any regenerative braking you notice on the hybrid?
Nice truck ,Joe ,
As always awesome ❤You❤Lori❤Steven.
Beautiful color 🔥
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
A prop rod and full of hard plastics at $55k 🤦♂
Yeah let me know if your 3rd gen has hood struts and Lexus LX leather door panels😂
@@Mycameron2323 found the 4th gen Tacoma simp in denial 😂
So what? Still gets the job done and allows Toyota to invest in other areas….like safety & reliability🤷
Love your car video
55K for a Tacoma, no thank you Toyota.
I Love The Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport😍❤️🏁🛻💨!!!
Comming from a third gen. I have the same truck and color and almost the same options. But not the hybrid engine. Doesn’t matter what time of the day it is this blue crush color pops out great.. only complaints I have about this 4th gen is the gas tank. But other than that I think Toyota improve a lot of things and did a great job moving forward.. 👍🏼
I’m a huge fan of Toyotas and Mustangs, so the Tacoma TRD Hybrid is a very cool truck to buy!
I have a 2022 Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6 made in Mexico, and I love it. I was able to see and get inside a new 2024 Toyota Tacoma SR5 and it was nice, but I believe it's price was close to 50K, which is way too much for me. I'll keep what I got, I really like my V6 engine Tacoma, and I'm not a small engine with turbo enthusiast. I hope the new Toyota Stout has a plain and simple powerful 4 cylinder engine it, not a 3 or 4 cylinder turbo engine, and if it has the terrible stop start feature at least put a disable button in it as well. The new Toyota Stout will sell well if it's price point is not too high because not many people can afford the new 2024 Tacoma's now. American Toyota Tacoma buyers are working class (99%ers.) I hope Toyota can bring the old Tacoma 3rd generation engines back.
I'm wanting a nice mid-size truck but not when manufacturers are charging full size truck prices for them. I'm leaning towards the Frontier Pro-4X because of the value and the tried and true V6
Yet nobody buys it
I just drove the Pro-4X. Great prices right now, at least relatively speaking. I’m 6’5” and was too tall. Seat didn’t quite go back far enough and no telescoping steering wheel. I didn’t have that problem in my 2021 Tacoma TRD Off-Road, which btw was about $12K less than a new TRD Off-Road. Crazy.
I for the life of me would never understand why they place "Sport" on what is clearly a utility vehicle. That being said I do see a lot of people living in the city with office jobs that have these 😂
By the definition of the word sport it totally makes sense.
Many companies use sport instead of base for better marketing
You don’t have to buy one🤷

I do go with the Tacoma again, my 2023 it’s great but I love this 2025 Tacoma ❤❤❤
I got a Mazda 4 cil and turbo, but I miss the V6 sound and power.
Cool truck but the price is at least 10k too much
It really isn’t if you do a a comprehensive Apple to Apple comparo. Knowledge is Power!
I might just spend 30k to restore my current truck. 60k for a small 4 cylinder or any truck is nuts.
That color is tight
I like the color and styling the price point is little off but looks cool
I was considering the new TRD PRO until they released the prices. Im going with a Ranger Raptor instead. Id rather have a v6
I would want running boards since it would be harder for older guys like me to get in and out of the truck. Power folding running boards would be perfect.
That's on the Limited trim.
Yes of course Joe & I would like to afford this.
Joe doesn’t sound like he’s enjoying this review like usual
Joe does what he needs to do, but sometimes does what he "HAS TO" do. just for the sake of doing it.
@@cirruscloud7164I agree. He did the minimum he had to hear to keep his access. At least he didn’t do any sunshine pumping. I give him credit. We all have to make a living.
Some nice features that should have been on the 3rd gen.. but in this economy and interest rates. ill be keeping my 2023!
Wonder if the rod bearings will crap out in these like the 3.4L 🤔
Nope that was addressed by Engineer David Chow over in his automotive press site. I hope you won’t be disappointed there is no issues here
Do a mpg test Joe 🎉🎉
If I have to spec, I like the silver trailhunter with 6 foot bed. Wrap it satin and add a TRD Sport hood on it. That would do the trick. I really want to love the TRD Pro but the ISO-dynamic seats that they have practically rendered the rear seats almost unusable by any grown adults with legs.
Toyota messed this up bad I hope they fix it people just arent buying them I really wanted to upgrade my 2020 off road but just can't way too expensive now looking at the nissan pro 4x right now
If you get a truck with the same equipment as your 2020 it will be about the same price.
@@Mycameron2323 No way lol I priced them, here in NY I paid 38,000 for mine the lowest off road here in NY they want 50,000 plus it's insane at least thats whats available here on the lots.
@@rhbowhunter Yup, everyone is complaining about the new Toyota trucks. From price to breaking. Hundreds of hours of video here on RUclips for people who do research. Best to avoid Toyota trucks for a couple years.
@@rhbowhunter you are not comparing apples to apples
Don’t believe everything you watch on RUclips, especially from those posting from a podunk town telling you they aren’t selling. Even though production is not yet at full capacity, Tacoma still outsold every other brand combined in the mid size class since the beginning of 2024.
MPG ?

For the raptor about 16 MPG’s
Raiti! What did I say??? Lol Nissan Infiniti is cooking to dominate Toyota and Lexus. The Car Industry is like Sports and Music. You have to see the curve. @@Mycameron2323 I agree.
In Australia our model truck from toyota is the Hilux i know of 1 with the 3 litre motor with over a million klms so the doubters who say the Tacoma wont last think again.
The fact that Toyota won’t stick this motor in the Hilux speaks volumes about the longevity.
This is a bit expensive at $55k for what it is except perhaps being a Hybrid, the GMC Canyon (AT4 is only around $44k and the AT4X is around $55k) and they are made for off roading wtih metal skid plates, etc.
You can get a frontier for like 30k with a more powerful NA v6. wtf is Toyota thinking 😂

Love your review, but the TRD Sport @55K is too much for a want-to-be sport truck.
This new engine will not last as long as the NA V6.

And you have ZERO evidence to support that🤦♂️
@@terryschwab2345 Even if the engine lasts 500k, the turbo definitely will not. Turbo diesel in big rigs lasts for 600-800k miles but no one ever talks about replacing turbos (it's considered a wear item like belts). Nice truck and good styling. It has all the creature comforts and more but wow $55k. Always enjoy watching your reviews and how many twinkies the car can hold!
More power yes, looks bigger absolutely, more interior space... that a zonk! More reliable definitely zonk!, less space at the back zonk!, smaller rear windows zonk!. Big improvement of fuel? Zonk!, smaller fuel tank, Zonk! Price Biggest ZONK!!! 😂 Well, the only person who is willing to pay for such insane price is probably an impulse buyer or never owned a Tacoma or newbies. 😅
I perfer this blue more than velocity blue by ford. I wish the Ranger Raptor came in a similar color to this. Although i think i still perfer shelter green, its a close call.
Mixed feelings, I like it but it's kind of hard for me to justify the price.
55k for a Tacoma? I'll give you 24,000. That's my final offer.
I’m not mad about it. It’s a price that’s keeping everybody from getting out like come on who would buy a truck that’s this size in this category for that price it’s insane even in today’s days. Economy is insane.
Love the Blue Crush with black trim and these wheels!
...watch out Doug could sneak up on you!
I saw one in person today. That unfinished tail pipe looks sooooo cheap
Must of been looking at a lower trim, LIMITED, TH & PRO all have chrome or black chrome tips and it is a simple upgrade to add to any lower trim.
Half way Americanized japanese truck with typical a big cabin and small cargo style, which makes it completely worthless.
It's not even a big cabin. Worst rear seat room in the segment
@@marklihsu That is exactly the point and called it "half way" Americanized. Toyota made it not functional as an "SUV" which have room for rear seats, and it is not a work truck either which can carry a lot of stuffs.
So Nissan Frontier... it is.
Nice you might move them from last place in sales
@@Mycameron2323 thanks!
Alright Joe let’s see what Toyota is up to
My only complaint with the old Tacoma were the drum brakes. What is this new overpriced generation Tacoma with a turbo?
This looks like a smaller version of the Tundra
So paying so much for hybrid system that doesn't fix the fuel consumption and pay for that so much.. is it worth it ?
It's the most powerful of all the midsized trucks.
2024 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid TRD Sport Double Cab Half Cab 4X4!
But I don’t know if that’s a reliable compare to previous. I’ll wait for over a years.
We will see how it goes.
A Tacoma is NOT a 4 cylinder truck, and No, we do not have to settle with it. Nissan makes a natural asp, V6 and V8 much cheaper. Bud Light, obviously, did not no know who drank their beer. Toyota obviously did not know who drove their trucks. LET THEM SIT!
You not a buyer 😂
Yeah, just don’t buy one, your problem is solved
Really concerned that these are made in Mexico, then given the price, thinking Frontier Pro 4-X
Pretty sure ford, some GM and many other automakers build in Mexico, they are becoming the next Detroit.
Toyota & Nissan need SMALL entry truck 4 cylinders under 23k $
My issue is the build quality has went down a lot... and along with the Tundra and all its major issues, i don't trust them... and they keep raising prices crazy. Toyota has been hurting their name so much, but most people just go off older historic reliability data and don't watch whats going on.
If i want a real truck i know can work and last, I'll get a Frontier.
2 main issues with Tacoma,1) Price 2) no v6 naturally aspirated gas engine option.
Get use to it and it was caused by the greenie enviro whackos, just a matter of time for Nissan and others. Not Toyota’s fault but they certainly came up with two excellent options, iForce and iForceMAX.
I have a 2021 TRD OR. I ,like most, feel the 2024 is overpriced. I thought....I rarely haul anything in the bed. I could trade for a Jeep Rubicon and pull my utility trailer. The dealer where I live has 3. MSRP is in the range of 76k and selling at the bargain price of 71k. Now THAT is overpriced !!!
It looks a little purple
Any 2024 Tacoma its super expensive for the type of truck you are getting, 4 cylinder? No way, pass. If I upgrade my 2022 GMC Canyon, I will go for either RAM 1500 Warlock Package or Sierra or Silverado V8 or add a second truck and keep my mid size Canyon, last V6 GMC build
He sounds like the truck is a bit let down to me 😂
I agree, he didn't seem like his normal self
