I'm nearly 5 months in and every time I lose faith and start thinking about a lil snip, I watch one of your videos! Don't give up guys - once you get to 4 months + you start seeing some really interesting and cool changes :)
That's great! I'm glad that my videos can be helpful. It's really easy to lose faith, but if you can just hold out and not run for the scissors, it's worth it! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
once i tried to do it, i lasted 1 month becuz it was getting pretty pluffy and my parents told me to cut it becuz it was ugly to see, that's what i did. now there have been 3 weeks thaat i dont cut them. I hope they understand and leave me grow it, also now they are much longer than that. It was 2-3 years ago
I love this video. Your longer hair seems to better enhance your wonderful personality as time goes on... you even look happier at the end of the year. Sure you reached your goal, who wouldn't be happy? Like you say... patience is key. You look more confident, you're animated, and it brings out your facial features and jaw line. You look handsome and seem like a great guy. Thanks for posting these videos. I'm about 17 months into my hair growth.. and I kind of set my sights on 3 years as well. Can't wait to see where it will be. You're inspiring. Thank you!
You know, I never thought I would be interested in men's long hair but you explain it in such a way that keeps me entertained! I really love this series!! :)
Thank you very much! That's a great compliment, because often, I either get the guys who like the long hair stuff but don't watch anything else on my channel, or the RUclips creators who like the puppet/recipe stuff but don't comment at all on my hair videos. I am very honored that you like my blatherings about hair. :)
Just hit uni time, always wanted long hair but school never allowed it (last 7 years of wanting to grow it so not exactly a short lived trend for me), so now is the time. This channel is brilliant! Never got an undercut but short back and sides and 5 inches on top pushed back, this video was awesome and the rest of your videos are awesome. Subscribed already!
Thank you! It's always good to hear from people who are actually experiencing things that I talk about, if I haven't. I tried to make sure I was looking at as many undercut-growing guys as I could, so this makes me happy. Thanks for watching!
No problem, I'm currently growing my hair out and hope to have it eventually reach a length at which it can just cascade down my shoulders. Been watching a lot of your videos concerning what to do during awkward phases and what not. So far, so good!
i always like how you show your visuals like you when my hair is short it sticks straight up so i would go for the fade and naturally just spike my hair since that took no effort. your hair seems to be getting some length again looks great. Back in my day when i sported the undercut in the early 90s we called it the surfer cut.
Yep, or the Morrisey cut in the 80s. I can see why it's a popular cut...it's versatile but it can be low-effort if you don't want to do anything much with it, as well. I thought an orange puppet with green hair would be a fun visual. :)
I have an undercut & I'm trying to grow my hair out now. It kinda sucks that all my hair shaved on the sides, I wish I didn't now lol. It's ok, new journey :)
I was growing out my hair but I had it cut yesterday to a long undercut I love it the sides are about a grade one and the top is really long almost to my collarbone I have it down it looks long how it looks i look cool af lol
Good advice, I grew mine out from being completely shaved years back and it looked crap until it was long enough to tie back. Second time around (now) I am letting grow from the undercut. I am ten months on but I could do more styles with it longer on top.Listen to this guy but excuse his dummy demo
As someone who grew my hair out the 2nd time from an undercut, you hit the nail right on the head Patrick. My sides weren't nearly as puffed as the first time lol. I also slicked it back and eventually it looked like it was all one length. I kept the top at the same length until the sides were long enough to match the top which was about a year ago. Great job man. You're one of the most consistent ones on here keep it up.
I decided this week that I was going to ditch the undercut. Luckily I’ve grown out the top quite a bit. It sits just below by ears so I have it to cover everything underneath (been a little over a month since it was last cut). I assume I just let it grow and just trim the longer stuff till everything catches up?
I’ve been patience with my sides hair growing it out..I always used to have a undercut but decided to growing it out and I’m at 18 months of growing out my sides now and now only a few inch is needed to have a full man bun...top of my hair is at 21 months now
I been rocking the man hun undercut but now I’m going to grout the sides I’m only a month in it’s going to be crazy but I can just hide my hair when it’s down
excellent advice my hair on the top is getting puffy on the top from growing out and i have an undercut i was about to cut it all off and restart the growth but thanks to your video i now know its normal lol
HAHA! This was literally my process: "I need to make a video this week, and I need to make a video for Mark. So my video for Mark is about this, what can I make a video about this week? Mark talks about undercuts, and I got yet another message about undercuts....UNDERCUTS!!!!" ":)
I've got 16" of length on the top. My undercut is quite low - maybe an inch or two above my ears, and is in a diamond so it runs diagonal down the sides to the back. I kinda wish I didn't have the undercut, but love my long hair. It seems like growing out the undercut could be quite challenging. I'm thinking about cutting 5" or so this weekend to take some weight out and have it back to shoulder-length or so. I wonder how long before I could make the sides sorta catch up, with pins and pomade.
nice explanation, quite helpful since i myself have been growing my undercut for about 6 months now. sides are about an inch while the top is about 8-9 inches.
lol this year i had a slight undercut for the first time in years, may do it again with the heat & thickness of my hair. always wondered how it it would affect my friends when they chose to grow out theirs,,thanks for sharing!
How was the growing out from an undercut? I have thought for a while that if I got my hair cut from this length, I'd go for an undercut. It would work well with my hair thickness.
a little odd after having long hair for a while,,esp after it got long enough to need styling gel,but with the heat & humidity it was nice to raise the longer hair up into a tail, its tempting to do it again except i have a feeling this winter might be another cold one & i find having longer hair helps during the cold times while my hair grows really fast(shaved part of the under cut in march & its now 2 &1/2 inches ) i know im going to want it long enough to place it in my ponytails so i may just keep it growing & just keep it damp when it gets hot, also my hair is a bit faster to dry now, sometimes when the humidity is high it feels like never dries.lol
lol yep i separate my hair sometimes 6 or 7 smaller pony tails ,hold the hair up for a bit & then i take it down and do more in different spots esp when its been raining for ages.i really dont like hair dryers(because of the noise) & it may just be a sugar pill but it seems to help.
Great video thanks for the advice it has help me out...Some of the comments on this are ridiculous why is the question of his sexuality coming up so often and why are some of them so rude!?
We are expecting a huge amount of guys to grow out their undercuts as Mecklemore himself got rid of this style and I don't know about your place, but here where I live, we ONLY called it the Mecklemore hair. Nice video anyway ... as always.
My advise and personal experience: When the hair on the top of your head reach your neck, cut the hair straight - layers are annoying and looks awful if you don't cut them all the time. ;)
i have a top knot i buzzed my sidres but my top hair can reach below my lower lip now and almost my chin any chance i could have hair like yours in the future?
Sure! It may take some time, because those sides are going to have to grow out, and you may have to cut the top at some point as it's growing so it all evens out, but there isn't any reason why you can't grow out long hair if your hair is still there. :)
Guys growing long hair from an undercut should not cut the top before growing it. In fact, it's the top that takes the longest to grow out....so, keep it.
I can understand! So many guys don't quite know what to do in those middle stages between undercut and long hair, but I hope this is at least an approach. Thanks very much for watching!! I appreciate it.
+xingcat it's all worth it in the end I felt like i was really committed to growing long hair because obviously growing it out from an awkward style it's going to look weird at times
great video man!Ive been growing out a buzzcut type hair cut for about 5 months. I just posted my first hair update video! haha I've got a long road ahead of me. feel free to check out my channel!
Thanks! Just checked you out! One thing to note...when you say, "Check out my channel" on RUclips comments, it tends to get your comment sent to the spam folder, so it's something you may want to avoid saying outright, especially on the first comment on someone's channel. Congrats on 5 months! I just subscribed over at your channel and will check in with your updates.

I regret having undercut, now I’m growing it out
Dude, you're such an amazing person. Because of your influence, I still didn't cut my hair and next month I'm gonna do my 1 year hair growth update
Thank you very much! And congratulations on almost a full year of hair growth! That's terrific!
Just hit uni time, always wanted long hair but school never allowed it (last 7 years of wanting to grow it so not exactly a short lived trend for me), so now is the time. This channel is brilliant! Great video, man. Despite having no experience with undercuts, you actually explained how my hair seems to be growing very well.
Thank you! It's always good to hear from people who are actually experiencing things that I talk about, if I haven't. I tried to make sure I was looking at as many undercut-growing guys as I could, so this makes me happy. Thanks for watching!

Great to hear!
Thanks Patrick!! I didn't know it !! very interesting toppic!! See you next week!!
Thanks very much!
Jesus Christ...straighten those pictures out, it's killing me!
HAHAHA! Yeah, that's part of the reason I started filming in front of a green screen. People were driven nuts by the crooked pictures. :)
I actually don’t care

You are the KING of props!
That's me! :)
Always a great a way to start (or end) a Tuesday. As always, thanks.
Thanks very much!
Spot on advice! Took forever for my sides to look even with the top of my head.. Always love seeing your videos in my sub box, keep it up :)
Thanks very much!
I have an undercut & I'm trying to grow my hair out now. It kinda sucks that all my hair shaved on the sides, I wish I didn't now lol. It's ok, new journey :)
It is! The time will pass more quickly than you expect.
growing my hair from an undercut 3 months. they are completely different lengths, but I'm gonna give it a shot
I really wish I could rock full Long hair like yourself but It takes it toll to take care of it so a long haired undercut is My way to go
I was growing out my hair but I had it cut yesterday to a long undercut I love it the sides are about a grade one and the top is really long almost to my collarbone I have it down it looks long how it looks i look cool af lol

ChunkyBlack so should I get an undercut? I didn't really underatand if it was a yes or no he was conveying

As I cut my hair low I'll take this advice for my beard... PS your hair Is luxurious dude, lol!
Thanks very much! Is there an equivalent to the undercut for a beard? Hmmm!
lol I don't think so, maybe we'll pioneer a new technique!
LeeToTheVI Yes! Famous for the Undercut Beard Technique! :)
hahaha sounds like a plan!
excellent advice my hair on the top is getting puffy on the top from growing out and i have an undercut i was about to cut it all off and restart the growth but thanks to your video i now know its normal lol
It's totally normal! Thanks very much for watching!!!
Hah hah. That puppet demo! Sooo goood :-D
Thanks very much! It was fun to do.
Your hair really is gorgeous. Mine is taking forever to grow!
Thank you! I was lucky in that I wasn't on RUclips during the time I was growing it out. It took a long time, though!
Growing out an undercut.. Who would do such a thing hahaha :P
HAHA! This was literally my process: "I need to make a video this week, and I need to make a video for Mark. So my video for Mark is about this, what can I make a video about this week? Mark talks about undercuts, and I got yet another message about undercuts....UNDERCUTS!!!!" ":)
hhahaa i love your process of thought! Well i think my undercut process is nearly done... Thank the lord!!!! haha
ThePirateLife I noticed in your video today that it's looking great!
You and XingCat help me in my journey to grow long hair. you two are great, thanks for all the content you guys put out!
HA GAYYYY
your intro alerted my cat...twice...:')

Yeah, that "meow" gets to a lot of cats! :)

I hear you on the never-drying-hair thing. It takes hours and hours!
lol yep i separate my hair sometimes 6 or 7 smaller pony tails ,hold the hair up for a bit & then i take it down and do more in different spots esp when its been raining for ages.i really dont like hair dryers(because of the noise) & it may just be a sugar pill but it seems to help.

Thanks for watching!
Great job, I love the visuals haha! I don't think there should ever be an undercut -_-
I think it looks good on some people. Not sure how it would look on me! :)
I started growing up my undercut but then i decided to shave my head to restart and have the same lenght
A lot of guys do that, I think. Whatever your approach, it's great to grow out your hair! Good luck with your growing!
You have beautiful hair! Great advice here too :)
Thanks, Tortor! And so great to see you over here on my channel! :)
Great job!
Thank you!

Good tips
I love undercuts on guys!
Hey, me too! :)
i have a top knot i buzzed my sidres but my top hair can reach below my lower lip now and almost my chin any chance i could have hair like yours in the future?
Sure! It may take some time, because those sides are going to have to grow out, and you may have to cut the top at some point as it's growing so it all evens out, but there isn't any reason why you can't grow out long hair if your hair is still there. :)
xingcat thanks man
thank you!
Hey Patrick, how long have you been growing your hair again ? Thanks
About 2 and a half years now, though I got a trim a few months back, so it's not an uninterrupted period of growing.
Cool ! I just hit a year and a half, I hope my hair is as long as yours in another year !
Erik BC Congratulations! That's excellent!
Guys growing long hair from an undercut should not cut the top before growing it. In fact, it's the top that takes the longest to grow out....so, keep it.
Indeed. Thanks for watching!
Love watching....:-)
Thx
I don''t think long hair works if you're low T.
I don't know....I haven't researched that.
As a person who started from an undercut I can tell you first hand it sucks a lot
I can understand! So many guys don't quite know what to do in those middle stages between undercut and long hair, but I hope this is at least an approach. Thanks very much for watching!! I appreciate it.
+xingcat it's all worth it in the end
I felt like i was really committed to growing long hair because obviously growing it out from an awkward style it's going to look weird at times
Rudy_G97 Yup, and it doesn't even look that weird, I've found. It's just we all have high standards when it comes to our own hair.
+xingcat exactly,
What I used to do is just slick down the sides with some water or pomade
funny how you've never had an undercut yourself yet here's a vid about it! kinda felt like a catholic priest giving advice on marriage...
omg there are some props hahaha I'm done!
Well, researching different things doesn't necessarily mean experiencing them yourself. Thanks for watching!
Nice video. I enjoy it a lot. Thanks for sharing! Sifoutv Pottery
lol challenging content! great way to a have a tuesday afternoon.!!! we have new videos, hope you visit us soon :)
Thanks...I didn't see it as too challenging, but maybe! Thanks for stopping by!
+xingcat you are welcome my friend
great video man!Ive been growing out a buzzcut type hair cut for about 5 months. I just posted my first hair update video! haha I've got a long road ahead of me. feel free to check out my channel!

Congrats on 5 months! I just subscribed over at your channel and will check in with your updates.
thank you so much for the advice man! Im kind of new to this whole thing. didn't mean to break the youtube etiquette.
