- Germany's President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is in Jerusalem in a show of solidarity with Israel. He's expected to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later. On Sunday, Steinmeier met families of hostages taken by Hamas in the October 7 terrorist attacks. He also held talks with Israeli President Isaac Herzog. Steinmeier's two-day trip to Israel will be followed by visits to both Oman and Qatar.

Germany, you've been through this once before because of a failed Austrian painter. What exactly has Germany learned if it can't recognize the exact same situation that has occurred with the Palestinians for the last 7 decades? It shouldn't be this damn hard to speak the truth plainly.
Sympathizing with the state of Israel when the Israeli govt has freely and openly oppressed the Palestinians for 7 decades will not and cannot atone for Germany's previous sins. It just only further damns Germany.
P.S. My sympathy is for the Israeli civilians murdered. They didn't deserve this, and a number actually had longstanding ties to groups working to help Palestinians. But I can't morally justify sympathizing with the *state* of Israel.

How can solidarity with the state of terrorism be with simpathy with Gaza? Such a dreanged logic!
Millions of Syrians live in Europe and there is no big deal. If you connect all Arab countries together, they become bigger than Europe in size. Why not solve this problem once and for all. Pick up all Palestinians from Gaza and West Bank and spread them across the Arab world AND let Saud or UAE oil pipeline work for the Palestinians for a year and they all will be living fine. HAD it not been for the greed that Arab have, this issue would long be history.
The issue lies within Arab culture and Islam itself. You can't fix them, they have to do it on their own and that's rather unlikely to happen anytime soon.
So your solution is to just continue stealing their land and oppressing them in their native homeland instead of maybe the colonial occupiers changing their attitude?

The palestinians do not care about this visit, they are in the long process of the liberty and freedom. They are doing the same thing the algerians did in 1954 against the french occupation forces until their independance in 1962.
