UWS' Frankenstein Garbage Truck 282

UWS, a newcomer to San Diego City and County, is coming in HOT. Despite only recently obtaining their city hauler license, they have been rapidly expanding in the market. More customers means more and more trucks are being sent down, and luckily, they aren't sending down just any old cookie cutter ones. One of the more unique trucks is 282 that originally started off as truck 228, with a McNeilus rear load body. Skip ahead a few years later and the body was taken off and replaced with one of Dick's Disposal old Heil bodies that was on a Mack LEU. UWS had Amrep perform the rebody process and as you can see, Amrep wanted everyone to know.
Not only has UWS been gaining numerous accounts from Republic, they've also been successful in recruiting a number of former Republic drivers, such as this driver. Carlos used to work at Tayman yard and drove the Tayman front load Amreps doing recycle. I even filmed him a couple years ago on this exact route.
Most of the bins seen in this video are only a week to two weeks old. Despite UWS' growing marketshare, they're still extremely small compared to the big three and don't yet have economies of scale on their side. This means the routes are extremely spread out, requiring the truck to be refueled 3x a day due to all the driving.
