4:11 Actually, Leonardo is usually the leader. Raphael being the leader is a misspoken line in the song for the 1990 movie. The only time Raph was the leader was in the 2018 Rise of the TMNT cartoon.
And even then, it was only up until the Rise movie, which was actually a nice way to show Leo’s growth
There’s something hilarious about this being immediately the song directly refers to Leo as “The Leader in Blue”.

This is the first version I ever saw, and I adore it. Such awesome fight scenes, nice art style, solid comedy, great ovrarching plot, and THE best version of Splinter, period.

Everyone else grew up with the other TV show versions of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Like, the original 1987 show or the 2003 series. But for me, this version on Nickelodeon was the one that I grew up with. It’s intense, action packed, and did tons of stuff that the other TMNT shows couldn’t do; make the turtles actually act like ninjas. You guys may have grown up with ‘Cowabunga!’, but I grew up with ‘Booyakasha!’.
Great thing this show came up with "Booyaka-banga", still Booyakasha is legendary and you feel Greg Cipes had a time of his life with every Mikey's line he voiced.
This the version I grew up with as well.

If you were like me who started with and loved the 2012 iteration, chances are you got so many people arguing that 2003 was better, and to that I say, both are equally awesome. Let’s not pin two goats of the same franchise against each other and label someone a sheep for liking one of them over the other. If these are the two animated series iterations of the franchise discussed and acclaimed the most, that shows they deserves equal praise, regardless if one succeeds in areas the other doesn’t.
Goes to show how good these shows were and what impact they did if people still are debating and I'm sure this debate will never end.
But, to me 2012 show is the best TMNT cartoon, period.

Normally, the turtles were bought by a boy who accidentally dropped them into the sewers due to a traffic accident by a van that was carrying the mutant ooze that also spilled into the sewers. Splinter then found and raised them.

@@MegaLazyguy123 Their franchises share similar origins and lore, like the Turtles have the Foot Clan as ninja villains, while Daredevil has The Hand instead. So similar but not connected, essentially since they’re owned by different brands.
Also, Daredevil was trying to save someone which resulted in him being blind, it’s unlikely he had turtles.

Ayy yes! 2012 TMNT baby!😁 I remember watching this when this first premiered on Nickelodeon and I was 7 and didn't have no history with the Ninja Turtles. I remember as a kid I had a crush Donnie and Mikey.😅 And also this show was my first introduction to the TMNT franchise. Also I forgot how Anime inspired this show was.

I love this version of ninja turtles because i was 11 when first watched it.
Splinters origin varies, some he was a human turned rat, others he was a rat who learned martial arts from his owner who was killed and mutated into a huge rodent.
Or he was a human who was killed and reincarnated as a rat who then got mutated.
Best theme song is "Teenage Mutant Ninjas Turtles" that had ever made!

I'll just say this now, this show gave me nightmares, it's honestly got some really disturbing scenes, especially the mutations
It also helps how well they blend CGI and 2d animation, some designs look so grotesque and sketchy. Not hating on Mutant Mayhem, but 2012 did that rough sketchy art much more stylish to me.

I hate to say it, I love her voice, but I don’t know her well.
I think that’s everyone for this episode lol
I highly recommend this show. It is comedic, but dark at the same time. It has a lot of lore, some sad, some shocking, but isn’t always super serious, like in the filler episodes. Mikey isn’t always so… un-serious, in the future seasons / episodes, he becomes a great character, Leo becomes a great leader, Raph becomes a better brother, and Donnie becomes much stronger. Please keep watching it, I loved your reaction to this episode, and trust me, it only gets better from here.

Nah, Raph was voiced by Sean Austin a.k.a Sam from Lord of the Rings. Definitely my favorite Raph VA, he may not have Brooklyn accent, but he perfectly nails both his angry and compassionate side.
Mikey is Greg Cipes a.k.a Beast Boy and Donnie is Rob Paulsen: Carl Wheezer and Jack Fenton.
April was done by "Katara" May Whitman and Shredder is Kevin Michael Richardson: Trigon from Teen Titans and Tombstone from Spectacular Spider-Man.
This show is exactly like Teen Titans and Spectacular Spider-Man: seems corny at first side but it's both hilarious, emotional and hella dark. Or if put it simply: the definitive version of the franchise.
Love how mutagen is actually dangerous in this show, really sets up the vibes becoming a mutant isn't the coolest thing.
Ooo-ho-ho, you're just not even realizing what threat this Shredder is gonna be, that introduction was sharper than his blades.
You're in for 5 season long run, hope the views will sky rocket.
P.S Splinter was originally planned to be dead or die at the beginning of the show and Turtles would've had to live on their own. Good thing it was scrapped, this Splinter is just legendary.
April was planned to be blonde looking like Terra and wear a black skirt, but showrunners decided to revisit 87 design so they gave her red hair and and yellow T-shirt. It was also Raph who was supposed to have a crush on her instead of Donnie.
Their reaction to the theme song was my reaction too first time hearing it 😂

Oh it’s TMNT Time
Leo is usually the main leader of the group. But some of the recent series have had Raph instead.
My older brother grew up with the 80s cartoon Ninja Turtles, and I grew up with the 2003 Ninja Turtles and the first live-action movie from the 90s. I got into this series enough to watch all the episodes, but the 03’ version of the Turtles that I grew up with was the one that I hold dear to me, especially when you find out how faithful they stayed to the original comics, with a few alterations here and there. And the shocking twist of the Shredder is something that made that show unique and made it different from that the other version of the turtles, both past and present.
