In this episode I head down to Crystal River Florida to kayak fish the Ozello mangroves in search of giant snook, redfish, and speckled trout!!

Highly recommend to use no less than 40 lb leader in the area..fish aren’t leader shy there I assure you I’ve fished fished many times in that general zone..good luck brother you’ll catch and land bigger snook they are there 👍🎣
I can’t see myself going that high especially with the setup I’m using. 40 pound line takes a ton of action away from the lure.

The joy of Snook fishing. You'll fight a lot more than you'll land. Between their gill plate, their large paper thin mouth, sheer power and acrobatics, the cards are definitely stacked against you.
I do use a Bite Leader in summer. From the braid out I use a long 25-30# leader for stealth and then on the end I use a Blood Knot to tie a 6-8" section of 40# to which I tie in the lure.
Nice vacation rental. We have one we've used midway down river, but that one has more dock space for more boats. I'll save that location.
We just had 5-6 of us turn a VRBO in Goodland into a fish camp for a long weekend and finding ample, safe dock space for 3-4 boats is hard to dial in.

We stayed in ozello when we went scalloping and I loved it. Fished all over and caught two 24in trout off the causeway over there. Now that I have my kayak I'm dying to go back

I found a killer deal yesterday I bought the old town big water 132 pdl for 1750 out the door.
Im concerned about the stability, do you think I should find someone to trade with to get the 120 pdl? How much of a difference is it?
I think the stability in the 132 is better because it’s bigger.
First off welcome to Florida and if you’re still here try earthworms for sheepshead because RadReelFishing didn’t have any luck he might not have the touch or Floridian Sheepshead are picky I know they will bite crickets because Thonny just did a video tearing them up.
He has already done that in northwest Florida I am pretty sure.
I’ll be dropping a video soon with an under water camera with sheepshead eating worms.
