Holy fuckin shit, that was fucking epic staight up to the last stocks of the last match. Even the game itself knew it was so epic and started cheering for Ganon.
I looked up Ganon matches to better learn the character and I instead found the hypest shit
I've never seen such sportsmanship in a match as intense as this
Nostalgia compelled me to come watch this set again. Reading the comments is truly heart warming. A place normally known for toxic trolls brimming with vitriol (the RUclips comments section) has comments like "new favorite set" "greatest Ganon ditto of all time" "10 times more unpredictable than a DBZ fight" it's such a pleasant surprise. The fact it went to game 9 and we saved FD for the end and it ended with him once again making a two stock comeback on me by chain grabbing...combined with the whole master apprentice dynamic....we couldn't have written it any better. Hands down my favorite set ever too, thanks for all the support guys.
You guys both played your heart out and gave me and many more a set that made us fall in love with the game again. I had paragon matches on in the background when practicing tech, and then I heard how LONG this one was going and how hype, so I stopped practice and just.. watched.
I had to grab hold of something because i couldnt contain the hype. This set was anime as fuck and you guys plays * a m a z i n g l y *
your both excellent ganon players that made me want to try him out and I don't even play heavyweights. Every victory you both earned, and you could tell that you had skill mastered for years and your student learned some of his own tricks that proved he could stand his own (even if this was his last tournament, and what a fucking ending)

I love this script
Every time I tell my other friends about my brother and best friend's skill at Smash I reference this video. Its just beautiful. Honestly the best match to ever watch because it comes with so much story and emotion. How can a match get better, so close, so nail biting intense? Truly my favorite to watch every time.
This is by far the best smash set I've seen. Incredible play by both players. Noble. Respectful. Good sportsmanship. No charity. Love it. THIS is how you play smash bros.
(Spoilers don't read)
Both players down to the last stock, Branondorf with a notable 80% lead on Red Ranger before falling to that stock. It looks like Branondorf will finally be able to close out the game on his old student. And that's when you hear it.
"Ganondorf. Ganondorf. Ganondorf."
The background echoes with the name of the legendary villain that both these players have near mastered. It's also when the power surges in Red Ranger's body, as he lands grab after grab onto his past master. Seeing grabs in such a fashion are not uncommon, but there is something different about this time, as in a normal circumstance someone will be able to break free of this hold.
However, this is no normal circumstance. Branondorf breaks under the pressure that Red Ranger puts in, throwing him into the ground time and time again, bouncing high off the ground with each hold. Just when Branondorf may finally have enough distance between him and Red Ranger to survive and regain his footing, Red Ranger charges in and knocks him far away with a powerful punch, propelling Branondorf far into the air.
With momentum all in Red Ranger's favor, Branondorf has a realization. He can struggle all he wants, but he can no longer win. He knows the game will end when the next person makes the slightest mistake, and he looks at Red Ranger. Red has an air about him, one that doesn't just seem insurmountable, but truly is. He makes a small misstep and lets himself go, knowing that he had taught his student well enough.

+Thedarktwilighwind yeh mainly because kage just bodied him hard. Though the build up hype for kage vs biz is one of the most hype things smash has ever seen. God just the trailer gave me goosebumps.

This is a match that really meant something to both players. I don't think I've ever seen two people play at the peak of their game in the same match, but here it is.
Congrats to both because this truly was a spectacle.

As someone who mains Ganondorf in Smash 4, I can feel the pride for Ganondorf radiating from this match. I don't play PM, but even so, this match brought a tear to my eye.
this tourney, Olympus, and the famous match between Prof. Pro and Rolex are some of my favorite sets to watch!

imo this is BY FAR the greatest set that took place at paragon, melee sm4sh pm who cares which game because this set that took place after grand finals, after the tournament, during melee top 8 when you think nobody would ever watch it, was the most amazing thing ever.

I really have a feeling that MrB let him take it at the end. There's no way he got chain grabbed that many times. Every other time he broke out but the last time he just let RedRanger continue. But it's good, MrB wanted Red to succeed him.

As tear jerking and beautiful as this ending is, Red Ranger won using a cheap glitch. You know, like wave dashing.

Could anyone tell me why my Ganon doesn't vanish when he spot-dodges or side steps like theirs? Been bugging me for a little while now & I've been had the most current update for PM, but there are no vanishing animations for my Ganon's dodging whatsoever.

How are they able to use special moves out of air dodges? I thought Project M (and Melee) air dodges caused helplessness, as a tradeoff for the additional movement.
do you mean their floats? i don't see when they use a b move out of an air dodge
Looking again and they're not airdodges. I'm assuming a float is like with Peach in vBrawl. Do all characters get a floating ability in Project M?

+Makai DeLorme Not only that, Red Ranger was a SF/MvC3/DOTA2 player primarily. Practiced Melee for a week, came to his very first SSS, was surprised to find it was a PM one not Melee, played me in Ganon dittos his very first match (he randomed to Red Ganondorf since he didn't know who to play in PM), I four stocked him, he rage quit the whole tourney, didn't play a single match the rest of the day until at the very end I bummed a smoke and he asked me to be his senpai. In a few months, I happened to move next door to him and we played all the time. He got good enough to beat my 10 years of exp in a little over a year. The kid's insane.
