Also kind of surprising, regardless of age. The bass player is generally the last band-member of ANY band that one expects to see bopping around the stage as the main source of energy. One is more accustomed to seeing them stand perfectly still, like Bill Wyman, John Entwistle, or Duck Dunn, with the singer or guitar player hopping around the stage frenetically. I was fortunate enough to see the Jefferson Airplane in 1967, at a free outdoor concert in Montreal, on a double bill with the Grateful Dead. Jack and Jorma are rocking just as hard here as they did then...minus the STP stickers. Good on them!
my brother Brian Faith played drums with them one night at the'' Would you believe club'' in Santa Barbara they came to our house after the show great guys ... they were in it for the love of music !
DAMN...I got the chills watching and hearing them perform that awesome song...and it was only captured on a cell phone camera...must have been incredible to have been there...!
Saw The Airplane in 1968 for the first time at the Fillmore West... Saw 'Hot Tuna' last year in Grants Pass Oregon....Unfortunately it was just an acoustic thing....Would love to have heard 'Somebody To Love' again..... Jack Cassidy ROCKED here!!!
It's 2018 and these guys are still out on the road. Caught them locally last year for an acoustic show and was blown away. Need to see them do an electric show before they retire. OTOH, based on their energy level, it may be a few years before they pull the plug!
These guys are fantastic! I love to watch as Jack is like a tea cup poodle picking on bull dog like Jorma. Their banter is worth the price of admission, but the music is spot on!
the first album i ever had with jack and jorma was bless it's pointed little head. 3/5 of a mile in 10 seconds got me hooked forever. add to that the first tuna album acoustic hot tuna and you can understand how they have sustained for over a half century. saw the last electric tour in september this year and they are still going.
Jack Casady is THE man, I used to sit in my room for hours copying him best I could on the Bass Guitar. I learned my chops from him. I used to listen to Bless it's Pointed Little Head, every song on that album is Jack playing lead Bass! What an amazing musician he is. He was my Bass role model when I was learning.
Saw Tuna several times...Once at a place called the Old Waldorf in S.F...Came on late because Jorma had been in some kind of fender bender or something like that...They closed the doors, played through the nite defying the city's curfew for such, until morning serving us all breakfast...
Love it. Looked like he went over and took a slap at Jorma's volume knob in the up direction. Kinda like come on Jorma, let's rock this thing like we used to.
Who slipped Jack the extra Red Bull? Whoever it is, I'd like to shake their hand. Sweet Baby Jeebus, he's coming up on 70 in this video! I'm grinning from ear to ear.
When the truth is found To be lies And all the joy Within you dies Don't you want somebody to love Don't you need somebody to love Wouldn't you love somebody to love You better find somebody to love, love When the garden flowers Baby, are dead, yes And your mind, your mind Is so full of red Don't you want somebody to love Don't you need somebody to love Wouldn't you love somebody to love You better find somebody to love Your eyes, I say your eyes May look like his Yeah, but in your head, baby I'm afraid you don't know where it is Don't you want somebody to love Don't you need somebody to love Wouldn't you love somebody to love You better find somebody to love Tears are running They're all running down your dress And your friends, baby They treat you like a guest Don't you want somebody to love Don't you need somebody to love Wouldn't you love somebody to love You better find somebody to love
Geez, I never thought Hot Tuna would play this one...how come you didn't also sing Jack? Come on, you did sing back in the day on "Party Song", so no excuses now.
Now I get it see all those jerks holding up devices? check out Jorma's touring hp and see all his warnings NO CAMERAS, PHONES, RECORDING DEVICES OF ANY KIND permitted. now i get it!

Inspiring to see 69-year-old Jack Casady feeling it and moving on stage like that. Bravo!
You know it! ✨🎶👍🏽❣
funkaholik Jack,s doin his Woodstock hop 43 years later
and in 1969, he was probably the LAST member of the airplane who would be expected to live this long!

Vocalist isn't bad. Takes a lot of guts to sing Grace's song with the guys who recorded it.
These guys are fantastic! I love to watch as Jack is like a tea cup poodle picking on bull dog like Jorma. Their banter is worth the price of admission, but the music is spot on!

She's no Grace Slick but at least she pulled it off! Thanks, I've subscribed to your channel and I look forward to enjoying more of your videos! ✨🎶☮
Yeah Grace Slick had that deep guttural that came out beautifully!
"When the Truth is found to be lies…"
No one has the power to really sing these words except Grace Slick.
Jack & Skoota have this on perfect time, great.
Love it. Looked like he went over and took a slap at Jorma's volume knob in the up direction. Kinda like come on Jorma, let's rock this thing like we used to.

Hot Tuna are too cool 😎 to quit and Theresa and Larry are amazing together!
Teresa Williams belting it out. Did great version of Chauffer Blues and Kepp Your Lamps too!
Peace
Love All Ways
Tremendous
Jack reminds me sooo much of Norman Watt Roy
both totally brilliant
¡Estupendos! La voz de la cantante con fuerza y decisión y los instrumentos brutales. 💯
JORMA ...🎸🔥🎼♥️☮️🙏...TERESA ♥️🙏...De Argentina 🇦🇷✌️👏 2021

Cassidy ...tremendo todo ....🙏QEPD....
When the truth is found
To be lies
And all the joy
Within you dies
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love, love
When the garden flowers
Baby, are dead, yes
And your mind, your mind
Is so full of red
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love
Your eyes, I say your eyes
May look like his
Yeah, but in your head, baby
I'm afraid you don't know where it is
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love
Tears are running
They're all running down your dress
And your friends, baby
They treat you like a guest
Don't you want somebody to love
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love
Top
that girl really has Grace Slick's spirit. The dark haired guy on guitar looks like Jackson Brown.
I wonder if Jack could play at all if someone one taped his eyebrows in place,,, lol, He is awesome,,,,,
Smokin' Tuna. . . .
Jumping Jack🤣
Jorma is one bad A M F!
If you dont know Jorma you dont know Jack...
Teresa!
she can sing! Sounds great!
A knockout!!!
HAPPY JACK WASN'T OLD BUT HE'S THE FUCKING COOLEST!
Would be awesome if grace joined them
What’s the venue?
Beacon
So where is Paul Kantner?
Sue C paul is dead
Seems as though Jack decided to eliminate about 70% of the notes he used to play on this song back in the '60s. I miss his contrapuntal bass line.
Geez, I never thought Hot Tuna would play this one...how come you didn't also sing Jack? Come on, you did sing back in the day on "Party Song", so no excuses now.
GET BACK, JACK
Not bad, but not the same without Grace!
Oh please......
Now I get it see all those jerks holding up devices? check out Jorma's touring hp and see all his warnings NO CAMERAS, PHONES, RECORDING DEVICES OF ANY KIND permitted. now i get it!
Cliff Works Um... but that's how you got to watch!
Where's Grace
They didnt need her nicely done
They should have jammed it out and even go into the slower tempo version from the Great Society album.
