What is the model and model number of the Seicanne head unit used in this video? I have a 2017 Toyota Prius and I am considering replacing the stereo with the same one you used.

Rather than purchasing a new screen, I decided to purchase an adapter for my Prius to enable Apple Car Play and keep my Toyota apps, as the aftermarket screen lacks features like drive history and all of the original apps.
Do you remember how the call quality was? Saw someone else using this brand for 3 years and loved it, but said call quality was so poor it basically wasn't worth using the phone through the stereo.

@@DunePanda I used the existing reverse camera. The android head unit plugged in and worked with the toyota reverse camera. It did not have a plug that mated with the toyota gps antenna although it came with a new gps antenna.
I ordered one of these for my 2017 Prius but I can’t seem to locate the reverse camera harness from the car side. It looks like in this video you found it near the antenna harness but I don’t have em. Would you know if 2016 and 2017 has a different reverse cam feed??
I have a Prius 3 2016. It comes with the 2015 GPS software. I tried to purchase a 2021 GPS software card and it worked for a month before it then screwed up the dash system until I removed and put in the old card. Though this is a new Carplay system, will I still have the 2015 GPS attached so will have the old GPS screen? Or does this mirror the GPS on the iPhone 12 plus so no need to use the GPS on the new dash system?

Could you confirm the screen dimensions as when I look on the seicane website it shows the screen size is to big for my vehicle, my opening is 230mm x 130mm, but the website is saying its 237mm x 137mm.

I think the oem mic is a different voltage and does not work easily. Probably worth researching because that would be a nice upgrade and very clean if it could work.

On the jbl model wiring is more complex. The previous comments feature a conversation with someone who got jbl to work with an Android head unit and wiring specifics

I'm having some wiring trouble - my 6 pin rear speaker connection has 3 wires on the car side, not four like yours. I think I have JBL amp hidden away. I'm working with Seicane, but with the time difference, it feels like using a ouija board. Any way that I can DM you for some advice or come by your shop - I'm local to SF.
@@scottoesterling4659 I am not sure where the jbl amp is placed but one solution is to run wires from head unit to the amp location connecting directly to the speakers. On some vehicles a non standard speaker impedance is used forcing owners to change the speakers along with head unit. Another solution is an amp interface unit such as this one (for older toyotas) perhaps an interface is out there for gen 4. Scott, I noticed the blue wire that goes to the can decoder box and the antenna power lead connects to an unused plug and is not powered. I believe this is a wiring error from the factory. If the can decoder box is working and correct can bus settings entered the included can bus decoder *should* allow sound to be heard through jbl amp system.

I got a newer Seicane Radio and followed this guide. Everything works and saved me a lot of poblems! Great guide!

Maintenance reminder is resettable. I think the other settings are on the other screen in upper dash

What company did you go with? Any problems with things not working? Such as backup cam randomly not engaging, etc.

It should be the same camera feed. It is a small rectangular plug with a few pins if I remember correctly.

It has a proprietary gps that probably no one uses and the gps from your Android or iPhone which is excellent

No it does not use factory mic. You can add a mic or use the mic in the front of the head unit.
Question. When you put the car in reverse does it turn off your music as well? Mine does
yes it does I think that can be changed somewhere as the other seicane i installed doesn't do that.

I dont think voice commands work after swapping the head unit. Most other functions were fine. The car stereo forums may help with more specifics.

Could this be done on a 2017 Prius prime?
The Prius Prime has a much larger screen, this unit would be too small leaving a gaping hole in the dash board.
Is your android head set work with the steering wheel LKA and Dynamic cruise control buttons?
the android head unit has no interaction with dynamic cruise and lane departure. Those features work as before.
