So Inventables/TBD took ideas from Facebook x-carve groups, things people have been doing for years on this machine, CNC4newies Z axis, going to the 269oz motors with the newer controller, buying the 9mm belts and sprockets, raise the X and Y axis, placing stiffeners along the Y rails, adding a dust control system along the Y rails, and switching to the Makita router? If you want to upgrade something, make an adaptor to go from belts/wheels to lead screw/linear rails. Straighten the X axis, it still flexes. it a hollow 40x40mm tube made of aluminum. Just my thoughts.
Don't go for the Makita router, it's extremely difficult to remove 1/8" bits after a carve. A knuckle buster! I'm returning mine and going back to the DeWalt.
Newbie question, but why does the pro take less time to assemble than the beginner model? Is the pro pre assembled in some areas? Why a difference of 14hrs for assembly?
Great question! The X-Carve comes as a kit and the majority of the machine you will be assembling. One of the benefits of the X-Carve Pro is ships in just a few major sections that are already assembled, so the amount of time to get up and running is less.
I have the old version of the x carve is it possible to run it off a tablet I have the samsung galaxy s7+ 5g tablet with a otg adapter will I have any issues
You might be able to get a little bit faster with the Makita. The big change to the upgraded unit is the improved Z-Axis and larger stepper motors. Those are what really allow you to push the machine to the best feedrates.

Will they not release an upgraded version of the z-axis rail?!
Nice! I'm incorporating CNC into my laser hobby. This looks like a nice unit!
Awesome!

Yes if it has a USB port and is running windows I would expect it to work.
Very cool! Any black friday deals coming up? Just wondering … is there anything in the works for replacing the v belts? Like a system without belting?
The Black Friday deal is going now. We are not able to discuss our R&D projects in RUclips comments.
Can I reach the faster feeds and speeds with my old xcarve with the new upgrade kit? Or would I still be lacking something compared to the new xcarve?

Can we upgrade the recently upgrade xcarve from 2018 to this?
Yes
