Honestly if this is what Abbadon has deal with on regular bases during Black Crusades, then he is outstanding commander by the shear fact he managed to do anything.
To be fair, didn't he shoot him a lot with bombs and missiles and other things to weaken him before even getting into swinging range? While banking on his ebbed power from the lack of melee combat?
@@Tacoguy1000Perturabo never entertained notions of honourable combat. War is war. Perturabo fights to win and he will do that efficiently. Man, the fallen primarchs really did become nothing more than hideous mockeries of themselves. To embrace chaos is to embrace your own insanity and debasement. The emperor protects.
If Antron hadn’t turned his troops into insane maniacs perhaps they would’ve tried harder to save him from having his soul sold to the devil. Still his fault

Also, I get Perturabo has long been clowned on both in and out of universe, but the man's own attitude plays a big part in provoking that. I suspect if Angron stayed silent for five minutes, Horus or Fulgrim would have said: "Yea, we get it: you're mad Dorn got chosen to build the palace and said his defenses could withstand you, so now your trying to prove him wrong...with the help of Horus, Angron, Mortarian, their legions, backup from a few others and...oh right, the forces of Chaos. But fine, we'll ignore all that and give you bragging rights if it will get you to shut up." I'm actually starting to see where Fulgrim was coming from in all this. While a lot of the Primarchs had sympathetic reasons or grudges against the emperor, at the end of the day, this is all the vendetta of one son who needed his father to be wrong (Lorgar) through the hands and ambitions of another (Horus) while most of those in chare where by the start insane or twisted (Korad and Angron) those who were manipulated or corrupted (Magnus and himself) or people who were acting on petty grudges (Mortarian and Purturabo). Oh, and then there's whatever Alpharius was doing. I can't entirely fault the snake for treating this like a big stupid joke by the time they got to Terra.
