These first batch of the CN City Now/Then bumpers were my favorite. Nikki the announcer sounds so chill and casual in these, especially the nighttime ones. It’s a shame they had her go louder once stuff like Foster’s and Puffy Ami Yumi get added to the schedule.
I completely agree. The fact that Nikki being composed in these early now/then bumpers makes her sound very genuine and authentic. Her more cheerful and energetic voice later on, while good, can sometimes feel forced to be honest. I still enjoyed her as the announcer throughout the City Era overall however.
Gosh I want creativity like this on tv again! I'm glad I was alive for cartoon networks 3 best eras. The powerhouse era, the best place for cartoons era & the city era, tv now is so empty & stale across the board. Not everyone wants just streaming, I love linear broadcast & want to see it return to it's former glory!
