I have this guitar and can’t wait to get a rampage too that thing looks sick and plays so amazing! I was able to play a friend of mines rampage and I fell in love for sure
Thanks man! It was nice to hear a more high gain review, especially since this guys got humbuckers, compared to almost all the rest having single coils.
yeah, this guitar is sick. the only thing that was coming outta tune like crazy when i first got it was at the machine heads/nut/string tree. there's no use for a damn string tree on a non-tremolo guitar, so i run the strings above it for the B and E. i just lubed up the nut with graphite, and i had to sand down some spurs i had on my high E machine head bc it kept breaking. now the thing stays in tune great. this guitar rocks. only thing that sucks is the metal pickup casings sort of create some bad feedback when you use a pedal in front of high gain..i use a boss OD pedal in front of my JCM for crunchy mid-range chug, but i can't on this thing really because of the feedback when my palm is near the bridge. other than that, it's awesome and sounds great! plus this guitar is only $299 on musicians friend nowadays. it's a special run of all black that only MF sells.
you have any issues with the kahler, i herd some people saying the strings break but i'm not one to use a whammy bar so i would definitely just lock it down, so would that eliminate that problem you think, another thing what you make of the build quality, i just sold my esp, so i wanna buy either the G&L like yours or the super hawk but i'm still undecided

Sweet!
hey man im looking for a drop C guitar for my band, would u recomend this guitar?
yeah, it sounds pretty good at low tunings. just get a bigger gauge. it's a cool guitar.
Ivan_Knevil I've played a G&L in drop C for at least 15 years. It's my go to for the nasty chunk.
I have mine in drop C with some 10-46 ernie ball strings. thing sounds huge if you've got a good amp. :)
