My all time favorite Offspring song. Badass guitars, bongos, killer and imaginative lyrics.... I don't CARE if I get flagged for this! This song was my personal drug, so-to-speak.

HELP! Who knows the background lyrics of 2-35 (sounds like: "one, two, three, four") and OUTRO from 3-35? OUTRO sounds like:
    "Choose (go, said on)
    "Choose (go, said on so)
    Choose"
    And I chosee"
Who can help me with that?

I need to analyze and critique a song for a school project. And this is obviously the song that I chose.
Do you mind if I use your video in my presentation? It's fantastic and perfect for what I'm doing. :)

Is the song about suicide? Like is the playground a metaphor for heaven or is he saying we could make this place (life) better and happier like a playground...if we choose to

"This is life. What a fucked up thing we do. What a nightmare come true. Or a playground if we choose. And I choose."
      Basically you have two options:
You can let life be a nightmare. Which is sort of default mode when you leave devices and vices to themselves.
Or you can choose to do something positive with it, and live it to the fullest.
      I choose.

@@PeacefulPeteable that's fair but how does that tie into the falling of a cliff line?

      @@laughingskull3881
"Falling off a cliff" is a metaphor.
The cliff is life and falling is living.
And I suppose falling could also be a sense of bliss.
"I'm like Deniro (great actor). I'm amarillo (golden). And I'll never know when I hit the ground."
No one knows when the fall is going to be suddenly stopped by the ground. But this dude is so blissed out, he won't even know when he hits.
It's actually some great lyrics. More layered than one might think.

@@PeacefulPeteable ye ik, I've bin trina crack them for years. I loved the song since I first heard it. I had a few ideas of what it could be but I wasn't too sure. Did u figure that out on ur own or did u read it?

It's just what I feel from the lyrics, I guess.
To me, he's telling a story about life. How it progresses.
First it was juice from a bottle. A world being formed by the senses. But looking back "I knew nothing. Still know nothing".
Then booze with the vatos. The dudes.
Life is getting "real". They're discussing death. Some of them didn't make it far into adulthood.
And when life is over, we're all exposed for the world to see. The things you didn't want people to see or go through; can't stop them now.
The next verse sounds like he's got a wife and kids. He's pretending to be an airplane on the floor and has a lovely generator to stand next to him.
He's telling his wife that she's the one that keeps him going.
Hopefully all that makes sense. It's hard for me to put my understanding of the lyrics into words because it's imagery in my head I'm putting down in fewer words.
But I believe if one let's the music and lyrics permeate and marinate for a bit, they'll reveal their meanings in time.
