You know what would be really cool to see is the construction of how the flaperon system actually works, the controls and all. theres is absolutely no video out there that shows it. I would love to know how they function and showing the controls as well. I want to build them but I never find a video or any type of plans out there on Flaperons
Your hangar solution is first rate. Going in/out sideways on a dolly is very inventive and practical. Please give us more videos about local flying, great stuff!
Looks a lot like the one my brother built. He passed on last September and never completed it. All he had left to do was put the skin on the wings. He put a Suzuki snowmobile engine in it. It's still setting in his garage. Nice video.

It looks like you've put plenty of hours on yours, so I'd love some info on the flight characteristics (stalls, stability, ground handling, etc.). Thanks, and looking forward to more videos!
I will try and do another video of flight characteristics on the Belite next time I have it out. It stalls at 35mph clean 31mph dirty, cruises at 55mph all the way up to 80 mph(vne) with ease. It is a very stable and predictable plane both in the air and on the ground. It stalls nicely with a mild break and starts flying again instantly with no tendancy to drop a wing. Let me know if you need more info. I am considering putting it up for sale since I am building a Highlander now.

The VG's came with directions which are mostly worthless. The best way to find out where to place them is a lot of experimenting with placement, and flight testing in as close to similar weather conditions as you can get. My stall speed was decreased 1-2 mph. T/O and landing distances are just about all pilot skill and have little to do with having VG's. A pilot who knows the airplane and how to fly it (in stock configuration) will outperform a pilot who is unfamiliar with an airplane that has VG's, slats, performance prop/engine and so on...... Also I cant give an exact number on T/O and landing distances because everyday I fly I have different wind strength and direction, temperature, humidity, pressure , and density altitude. In the winter when its 20 degrees F out with little to no headwind I can T/O in under 75 feet. In the summer at 90 degrees F with 5mph headwind it can take 250 feet to T/O.
The big question I would think is how much? Then how much annually, then the cost of motor after how many hours? The fabric? Plus, other cost? It's cool to own one, but...

please make some simple wooden chocks and use them! You can tie them together and pull them in from within the cockpit. You've made a delightful aircraft and there's no point in risking it by starting it without chocks.

The hirth f 23 is great. Its simple, light, and super dependable.

Build a legal eagle if cost is the big concern. One of those can be built for around 5 grand

Seems quiet, what's the engine? Muffler. Prop? Engine and prop rpm?
Hirth f23 50hp 2 stroke, stock mufflers, warp drive 64 inch, 6200rpm max 2.5 to 1 prop reduction.
