I agree with many of the sentiments expressed about Stephen A. But the Emmett Till comparison is not valid.
First off, Emmet Till was a kid who was kidnapped out of the home of his family. Secondly, most people didn't even know who the woman who accused him was until a few years ago and I doubt anyone can name the two men who kidnapped and murdered him without looking it up. So how could it have been a similar amount of vitriol from black people aimed at the assailants in his murder as white people toward OJ?
In the trial of the men accused of killing Emmett Till, it was an all-white male jury in the deep south in the 50's. O.J. didn't have an all-black male jury in the 90's.
Another difference is you have several eye-witness accounts of the kidnapping from Emmett Till's family. Some of his cousins were even present with him at the store, where the alleged incident began. Till's uncle who was at the house when they kidnapped him, even identified one as the man who took his nephew during the trial. There was no eyewitness to O.J. committing a crime that night. In the Till trial, the sheriff locked up two black men to keep them from testifying. He even testified that Till was still alive and the body they found was a white man.
The trial of the men accused of killing Emmet Till lasted 5 days. OJ's trial lasted 8 1/2 months. And it was broadcast to the public. So, there was ample amount of evidence for the jury to see from both sides. And the public got to see most as well.
And here is the biggest difference. The assailants admitted to the sheriff that they kidnapped Till but said they released him. That would be the equivalent of O.J. saying he broke into Nicole's house a few hours before but left after a few minutes and he never saw her. Then later after they were acquitted, they even admitted that they killed Till.
Whether you think O.J had some involvement or not is one thing. But based on all the circumstances surrounding both, to act like there is an equivalency isn't accurate.
