      @@MCFIXITI have a question please. My belt was broken so it was replaced. Everything was fine for 2-3 days & now my lights are starting to flicker & power steering light came on(same symptoms a few days before belt broke). Could it be one of the pulleys even though so squealing sound is coming from then while car is on?

    Helpful hint for doing yourself. You can use a zip tie to hold the wrench by tieing it to the engine mount there.

    For clarity, you started at the crankshaft, then ac, then alternator and then lifted the tensioner and slid the belt under?

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  Год назад +1

      That will work. You just want to be sure to leave room for the tensioner and be around each part correctly. There are many ways to do this with what part you start with going around.

      Thanks 👍. I will need to do the belt in about 40,000 miles so it might take some time before that one is filmed. It’s a pretty easy process. Make sure to get a serpentine belt tool (long, thing tool with a 3/8 drive on the end) and a basic mm socket. I’m sure there are other RUclips videos on it. Thanks for watching. It shouldn’t. Your tensioner might be busted if it doesn’t work like this. It should hold it in place once the belt is properly lined up.

    Why is it that whatever task they are showing you how to do, looks simple and easy in the video, but in real life, you find yourself beating the car with a hammer because your so frustrated that the belt didn't go on as easy as they showed in the video .....lol ..my tensioner was tense and it took a lot of force to release that tension in the first place, and you have to be careful becaus the air conditioner line is right where your working and its easily dented or damaged on the process....I spent literally 2 whole days trying to get my belt on. Maybe it's just me and I'm a bit mentally retarded but that sucker was hard it even broke my long tool designed for the job...uhgg never again
