From 2002 -2008, I had a job where I worked very closely with Jerry Seinfeld fairly regularly. The guy has a MASSIVE ego and he let's you know pretty quickly that you are an underling, but I never once witnessed him berating anyone and in fact he kept some people on the payroll, who were incompetent and should have been dismissed, just as a kindness. So, he's a mixed bag, at least in my experience.

I met Paul Newman at Watkins Glenn as a kid. Great guy, super focused on the race but gave my cousin and I a few minutes for pictures and chat. Saw Robert Redford as my friend drove me past his ranch in Utah. He was feeding his horses. I waved, and he yelled "Hi!" and he waved back. My friend had met him and said he is super nice and a normal guy. Finally, I was at Thunderbolt Raceway in New Jersey and went to get beer. My friend and I ran into Patrick Dempsey who was racing an RX8 that day. He was awesome to talk to and great with fans. We need more stars like this. Also, don't forget how much fans might test your resolve no matter how nice you are.

I was on a Delta flight and Danny Glover sat next to me he was so rude to the flight attendants and airport staff. I didn't bother trying to talk to him he had a scowl on his face and came off as a complete asshole. When he couldn't find his luggage I helped him he didn't even thank me just gave me a shitty look up and down and left. I've also waited tables at a fine dining restaurant in northern cali everyone from the B52's group was nice but Dave Chappelle and Christina Aguilara were beyond snobby and rude. I was so bummed.

I've come across a few celebrities in public. The ones I've run into were genuinely sweet people and actually sat next to James Doohan (Scotty from the original Star Trek series) on a plane. We had a nice conversation but I didn't let him know that I knew who he was-I just treated him like anyone. I also sat next Johnny Mathis at Chicago O'Hare airport. He was genuinely nice. But I can believe that celebs can forget who gets them and makes them famous.

Alot of older actors and actresses from around that time were nice even other ice queen Marlena Deitrich was supposed to have been very kind to fans but hated press with a passion .... Energetic cowboy Clint Eastwood is another who is a kind man to fans I got lost on my way through his home town of Carmel CA and the polite Eastwood wrote down the directions to where I needed to get to and was very polite and let me take a photo of him with my phone. Apparently people go up to his house nearby and wait for him at the gates where he regularly goes and talks to them for quite a bit at a time. Tom Hanks can be nice if your not up in his face. I wasn't I just reversed accidently into him in a chocolate shop. Thankfully he was very kind to me even though I was blushing like crazy under my makeup . I worked in a poker room and Marc Somers (from Double Dare) was playing. This is YEARS after the show was off air. I bet most people didn't recognize him. He went to cash out and some of his red chips and white chips were all together.
I started counting them up and said, "Its not a big deal when 2 or 3 chips are in the wrong section, but when it gets super sloppy..." and I just smiled. Si did he.
I said it was a pleasure to meet him and he was super polite. He played poker for 3 or 4 nights and when it was his turn I called him sir rather than Marc so people didn't connect the dots..he then took the time to write a very nice review of our room.
