I love the Keter stage because of how it's literally nothing but books - the towers of books in the background, the shelves behind those, even the stage itself is _entirely_ made of books. It really embodies Roland's "that's that and this is this" mentality, since unlike all the other Patron Librarians, his background doesn't really draw the eye, the only thing that matters is the here and now of the battle, similar to how he's very practical in contrast to the other librarians being philosophical.
It’s also really impactful when you remember that all those books are meant to symbolize the lives taken in The Library. Adds a lot to the relationship Roland and Angela have, both at the beginning and the end.

(Spoilers) Wow, the symbolism in this track is impressive. Okay, so it's no secret the electric piano/keyboard likely represents Roland--pianos are a motif that's used in multiple tracks throughout the game for him. The violin represents Angela--what with how it's the primary instrument of her boss theme, it being used to represent her in multiple tracks, Angela & Roland's relationship being a large focus of the story, and her role in the Keter realization. Interestingly, there's no part of the track where the violin is playing without the piano in the background. The piano's background playing is supporting the violin's playing, much like how Roland supports Angela throughout the course of the game. This is even more likely when you realize that when the piano's playing is the focus of the track, the violin stops playing entirely--symbolizing the times when Roland becomes the focus of the story. Phase three takes this dynamic in an interesting direction, as the piano and violin occasionally play at the same volume, suggesting that each character has a better understanding of the other. Aside from gameplay reasons (fights having gone on longer), the speed of the theme with each progressing phase could be taken to mean the two coming to understand one another better as well, as their relationship gradually grows throughout the game. As someone on the forums pointed out to me, there's a bit of Hod's theme thrown into the last part of the track, likely representing Roland's betrayal at the end of the game and the growth that came from it for the both of them. There's a lot more to potentially unpack here, but the point is that it's a really fitting track for the General Works floor and the characters involved in it, especially since it's the slowest floor to grow (just like how Roland and Angela's character arcs take the length of the game to complete). Sucks what happened to give us the third phase, but it's a great track regardless.
@Elemyrh man, this is an instrumental composition. It's more about feelings and emotions rather than meanings. Even Binah says to Roland (and us) to perceive things as they are. Maybe ya should listen to her
@@Dizrak Actually, there's quite a bit of meaning to the instrumental themes of games; the meaning being conveyed and the emotions that the audience feel are some of the basic things any composer has to consider when creating a piece for a game. So yes, it's about emotions, but that doesn't mean there was no consideration for the characters involved with each floor when creating their themes. There are multiple pieces of music throughout the game that are written this way - it's far from the only one, and it's not purely limited to floor themes. Besides, it's not really rare to see an instrumental piece doing this, or the instrumental part of a track doing it; multiple games have used their soundtracks as a way to tell a story, not just as a set piece (hell, for some people, it's how they make all of their music). Feel free to ignore this comment if you want, but it doesn't really change the validity of the analysis. Oh, and that line from Binah was more about individuals ascribing their own meanings to things where there either is none, or their perception is entirely irrelevant. That doesn't mean there can't be meaning in things, just that a person gives their own meanings to an object throughout their lives, which only really apply to their perception of the world. So your interpretation that there is meaning in nothing, and that things are just what they are, is both incorrect and blatantly contradictory.
@@dyingstar24 Mostly just this one, lol. The other floor themes represent their patron's personalities & their scenery, but that's pretty much all they do.

*Roland... Angela!!!*
(Spoilers)
Wow, the symbolism in this track is impressive.
Jegus, I didn't think someone would give an in depth analysis of the basic battle themes in this game
Man, you put too many external meanings. That's just a battle theme, no more.
If you slow this music down, you get chased by an evil red dog!!!11
